It is preferable for women to pray at home but praying at a mosque is perfectly fine too. There is no sin for a women to pray in a mosque and i guess in our culture its not right for a woman to go to a mosque but it differs in each family due to opinion.

"The prayer a woman performs in her house is more rewarding than the one she performs in the yard of her house. The prayer she performs in the yard of her house is more rewarding than the one in the mosque in their district. Their houses are better for them." - Muhammad (PBUH)

For practical reasons it is just easier if they pray at home but no one can force them to not go to Mosque if they wish.

some people only get praying done of they make it a habit to go to the mosque often which is not a bad thing. I don't think women should go if they start worrying about whch accessory to match with their dress for juma. The ladies in my family go for eid prayer but I feel more comfortable praying to God from my bedroom with the door locked. I can't be with God the way I am infront of others or with others the way I am with God.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

Zari, in Islam women are permitted to visit mosques for prayer. I guess its preferred to complete prayers at home because of house hold duties.

The reason you hardly ever see women going to mosques is due to culture. Back home, you probably wont see a single female in one.

I like going to mosques, i go every Friday. There is a group of us college girls that carpool to the mosque for Friday namaz......its fun and feels good. I even come upon my dad there sometimes lol he likes to see me there.

Sahih Buhari, Book 13, Number 23:
"Narrated By Ibn Umar : One of the wives of Umar (bin Al-Khattab) used to offer the Fajr and the 'Isha' prayer in congregation in the Mosque. She was asked why she had come out for the prayer as she knew that Umar disliked it, and he has great ghaira (self-respect). She replied, "What prevents him from stopping me from this act?" The other replied, "The statement of Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) : 'Do not stop Allah's women-slave from going to Allah s Mosques' prevents him."

Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Number 885:
"Abdullah b. Umar reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) say: Don't prevent your women from going to the mosque when they seek your permission. Bilal b. 'Abdullah said: By Allah, we shall certainly prevent them. On this'Abdullah b. Umar turned towards him and reprimanded him to harshly as I had never heard him do before. He ('Abdullah b. Umar) said: I am narrating to you that which comes from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and you (have the audicity) to say: By Allah, we shall certainly prevent them."

Sahih Muslim, Book 4, Number 886:
"Ibn 'Umar reported: 'The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Do not prevent the maid-servants of Allah from going to the mosque."

wow never knew everyone on this site was a imam !!!

you should ask your local ulama or imams not a bunch of pashtuns on a forum

people go to a specialist when they have a problem or something but for some reason everyone becomes a specialist when it comes to Islam

Why? The answer is in the primary text. If it was the proven action of the Prophet and even Umar upheld it... why should we not answer the question if we know the answer?
