This law is 100% according to quran and sunnah, per the ulema in pakistan, ask any in afghanistan about this case and if they say that it was unislamic than we can have the two meet.
Since you are saying the decision was made in accordance to Sharia law, you must have a vast knowledge of Sharia law and you can bring evidence on what clauses of those laws were used to judge this person...so can u bring some evidence?

i would really appreciate it , because right now u are pointing fingers at the authenticity of my religion (i could give a damn about 100000 mullahs of pakistan)... here the matter is my religion. you didnt point out how the mullahs had made a wrong decision, rather you pointed out how the mullahs made a wrong decision based on correct reference to Sharia law.

so can you tell me which verse, which passage, which hadith they used to make this decision. because i am not aware of such a loop-hole that exist in sharia to forgive a murderer just like that.

i will be waiting for ur answer impatiently... please let me know how much time u will take to research this... please don't respond with another stupid post... i just said what i want from you... i want evidence on how Sharia law protects this murderer...forget about the mullahs... you tell me how did they do it?...caz u are basically saying their decision is supported by Sharia... you must know how it is supported then... waitingggggg!

In pakistan there is a sharia court, which looks into quran, hadith and other approved sources of madness, this process is backed by thousands of ulema, not one living alim in pakistan and afghanistan have come out and said that this or that law passed by the sharia court is unislamic. Show me one alim in afghanistan that objects to any of the verdicts and then we will not call it islam. Otherwise denying it and saying it is against the 'true islam' is an imaginary excercise to decieve onself to keep believing in a non existant system that is in one's head and not in the real world.

I was not sitting in the chambers of the sharia court, and i did not read the verdict to see how they got to the verdict. But you are a reporter, Take the case to any sharia backer and tell them is this according to sharia or not. I have guys on this forum say the verdict is secular as the sharia court in pakistan is a CIA backed secular institution. Well why not call it a communist maoist institution backed by China or better a zionist conspiricy. In any case the fact remains, that the guys who had spend their lives in the study of Quran and Sunnah have decided that the lord meant it that way, they have passed a law and you and I are now bound by it. I am openly saying that I dont agree with this, even if allah himself wrote it by hand in front of me and muhammad was sitting on the bench when the verdict was passed. You are just finding excuses, and one never fails at finding an appropriate excuse.

lol, he was a a CIA/Blackwater/Al-Qaeda agent. Yes, they are all part of the same click. Yahoo India news revealed that he was trying to give nuclear know-how to Al-Qaeda. ??? Not conspiracy. There is a thread on it here.

And Pakistan is a secular nation, and this lack of justice is attributed to that.

In a Sharia system, murderers and rapists are executed , preferably in the public

LAHORE: A petition challenging CIA contractor Raymond Davis’ release was filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday, DawnNews reported.

The petition, filed by Barrister Iqbal Jafri, stated that the families of Faizan and Faheem were pressurised by the government into pardoning Davis.

The petitioner stated that Davis’ pardoning and immediate release was in violation of the law.

The petitioner requested the court to invalidate the decision and direct the authorities to initiate proceedings against “those who brought about Davis’ release”.

                  You're wrong again Tormana!

Army, ISI, Punjab CM played the main role

                  Thursday, March 17, 2011

ISLAMABAD: The Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, through the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and some influential families of Lahore, played a key role in ‘convincing’ the families of Faizan and Faheem that Raymond Davis would be released in any case and they would get nothing, so the best course was to accept money and forgive the American killer.

Not necessarily. Depends on which school of thought, but this is not limited in the Quran.

Just because we don't like the state of Pakistan does not mean we can use that logic to conclude that everything they do is wrong. This is absurd. All we are doing in the process is mocking Islam.

I don't know what Mullahs in Pakistan say

but but according to classical Ulema, setting Raymond Davis is totally against Shari'ah; and that people who argue that it's acceptable in Shari'ah have no idea what they're talking about.

                        Have a look.

according to Shari'ah; he's supposed to be executed.

Islam is perfect but sadly humans are not!... don't hate Islam, hate the ones that misuse it.
How could Islam be perfect but not applicable at the same time? Is not communism perfect on paper, but it is the people who are not perfect?

                          Dear Feroza_Banu, assalamu alaikum!

                          With all due respect, sister,

I am very confused on your stance. First you say that Shariah will never be applicable, and then you are questioning whether this sort of clause exists in Shariah. In order to question, it would mean that you do not have enough knowledge of Shariah. However, this contradicts your earlier statement when you stated that Shariah can never be applied.

From the looks of it, you are disgusted with this decision. Would you be disgusted if I told you that this type of injunction does exists within Shariah?

I am not trying to be confrontational, however, despite not liking Baygham, I would have to defend him here, because as it stands you do not have a clue what Shariah law is. Shariah law does not necessarily mean the judicial law of the land only. The fact that we pray five times a day is Shariah law, the fact that we don't marry our sisters is Shariah law. I could go on and on.

A humble suggestion would be to not to jump the gun on a matter which you do not have sufficient knowledge about.

Everyone knows, and Baygham himself knows, that I don't like him, because he always attacks my religion without cause. However, I will never allow Baygham's hatred for Islam to deter from defending him and being an apologist. I will defend him. He can have as many objections against Islam as he wishes. He has the right. He is not a Muslim. However, when we have Muslims who are apologists it makes me shake my head. It is tantamount to a blind faith, and disbelief. And if the reality of the faith were revealed would you leave Islam (rhetorical question)? Of course you would not, you would probably find an excuse to stay. However, what you are jumping on Baygham for actually is within the limits of Shariah. So, is it Baygham that you are attacking or Islam itself (again rhetorical question)?

People be careful, you are insulting Islam when you jump the gun.

The problem is that Shariah is not one person's interpretation. The Holy Quran is not explicit about this issue.

                            You have to be fair.

How Islam is applied today, and by whom it is applied, I don't want to get into. Do I agree with the decisions? It is not my place. However, the fact that these claws and rulings exist in Islam, I would have to only say: I hope taqwah was used by the judges. Nothing more and nothing less.

We can discuss how such a ruling is right or wrong. In the process we can learn more about our religion.

You have to laugh at the excuses they make. "Oh, but they're not practising Sharia correctly"

If you're not capable of practising Sharia correctly in any country, then perhaps it's better you didn't practise it at all.
