most of the points criticized are actually true...
apostates do get the death penalty
kuffar are not to be taken as awliya
women shouldn't be in public without a male relative of age
if you think that this is only what "salafies" believe in then you must be totally ignorant of Islam.
Of course the author of the article has sensationalized and exaggerated it all for demonizing Islam as a whole and not just so called salafies...
So I think it is safe to presume that you, sallahudin, are ignorant of the basic teachings of Islam and are here to challenge it by posting any form of alarming criticism to push forth your own agenda...which may be personal and conflated as well.

^ Yes, who on earth is this guy? Must be second cousin of guess which maseed?

Those anti-Islamic websites are so sick anyway.

If the people who publish them REALLY care about society,
      they would leave Muslims/Salafis alone.
These latter are promoting MORALITY and living the right life.

Instead they would spend their time to combat so many ills within so-called "Christian"
society and "Christian" nations. These are secular societies which worship the Masonic ideals of the French Revolution, Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.
If one questions this idea, study up on what the French Revolution really was about.

That directly inspired the American system, the HORRIFIC Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, etc.

There's nothing about God in these systems; it's all about "man" and the rights of "man".

If they are TRULY religious people, these vocal "Christian" opponents of Salafis & Islam in general as Alchemist pointed out,
they should admire that above all, Allah is given the power, not humans.

So maybe they could study up and learn something instead of carping away.

you have 100 girl friends and misstrisses, no problem but when it comes to taking responsibility and protecting a woman from the bad environment and bad people then you get big problems. this is hypocracy.

          ^ Exactly!

What these people are doing is barricading themselves in the "us versus THEM"
          mentality.

What "we" do - Westerners which is the basic type of Christian who is leveling these complaints - is GREAT.
          What "THEY" do is "barbaric".

How do these critics of Islam succeed so well?
The average American or European knows nothing about this custom of polygamy.

So it bands insecure people together to point a finger at a group practicing that.
The members of that group feel relieved that they can blame somebody else
and forget about their internal problems.

This is why the negative image of Islam has taken a quick hold on the average
Westerner. He or she is deeply unsure of who he or she IS.
Hence it's so easy to get that pressing trouble off of one's mind by
leveling accusations of barbarity at some faceless group ABOUT WHICH
NOTHING AT ALL IS KNOWN - see ?

So Europeans especially the French live lives of a wife and usually a permanent
mistress or eventually a chain of them - and no one bats an eye.
          EXCEPT the wife!

If you watch that movie - it's a little weird but is instructive in some ways -
The Diving Bell and The Butterfly" about a French editor of the magazine Elle,
one can see the wife's pain poignantly depicted.

One can guess at what might be a punishment from God
meted out to this guy who people thought was the toast of society.
He mocks at Hazrat-i-Maryam in Lourdes for example, where he has brought
          a girlfriend, of all sacrileges.
There are no accidents about what occurs to whom, after all!
Everything is divinely arranged for a reason.

This marriage + mistress lifestyle is typical in France.

But not content with this almost 'traditional' scenario, if the article posted by Karachi is any indication,
Westerners are so jaded that they are
seeking further disgusting behaviors in this realm.
When looking up something else last week,
I caught sight of a Newsweek article almost advertising this
'new lifestyle' called polyamory or something, where
groups of Westerners live together and trade wives or let's say concubines.

So who are THEY to pinpoint pious Muslims for lack of morals or unusual
          marriage customs, one may wonder?

This is not propaganda. its a reality. you go and ask any woman. she will tell you that she feels more protection and safety from the eyes of men whose minds have been corrupted whether he is educated or uneducated.
believe me you ask any such woman she will tell you that she receives more respect from the men when she is fully dressed.

Yesterday, I was talking to a group of women including Iranian, Arab, and some Kurdish women, all of them very accomplished and dedicated to their families...And they were of the unanymous view that those who wear hijab, julab, etc. are forced by their men-folk into doing so...They said, such people are usually Muslim immingrants without the guts to adopt to post-modern life ...so hijab etc. give them a sense of refuge and self-importance...I was astonished knowing their views....

They are free to wear whatever they want to...who the hell you or I am to choose for them...Just visit KMC, Peshawar University, etc. and see for yourself how do they dress....

My point is, let women make their own decisions whether to wear Hijab or jeans (I can reckon with Hijab as long as it is not forced on others)...It is exclusively their choice....

Jeans are terrible, and no self-respecting woman in ANY culture would wear them.
Only people who run after the HERD - ie unattractive, unisex style imported from a Jewish company in San Francisco, Levi-Strauss, which made the first jeans and are still the leading seller of them - would mistakenly run after this ANTI-fashion.

Most women everywhere who wear them have attitudes about everything else too which follow whatever the mass media tells them to do, or think or say.
By the last, I mean trendy expressions which sound ridiculous but the person who uses that jargon imagines they are oh- so - cool.

                      Same with jean-wearing.

Traditional styles of dresses or a national outfit are what are truly appropriate.

Jeans are simply a Communist-proletariat - worker class attire !

Let the others do whatever they want to as long as it doesn't impinge on the rights of others and/or harm others ... Is it clear now? There isn't any room for terrorist-interpretation...

By the way terrorists are the people who think others should do whatever they think is the right thing to do....

jeans are too hot, heavy and restrictive. after my first trip to indonesia i began wearing baggy pants. i like baggy light pants in most climates, thicker fabrics in cold climates.

so i am asking what wrong has burqa done to you ? if you dont like it so dont do it. but kindly dont impose or propagate your stupid and immoral things on us.
money will not do everything for you ... there are some values that you should take care of and should protect if you are a pashtoon girl otherwise do that you want but first you have to tell us and prove to us that you are a pashtoon girl.

Sorry, I am not sex-obcessed like you and other Mullahs to consider women sex objects ...To me, they are human beings as much as men can be to conduct themselves and to live a life of diginity...

And by the way, many of the Muslim societies despite their obcessions with sex-based women-specific morality are the most immoral today ...
