this was actually supposed to got to another thread but....
scimitarx. your hatred of the pink faced yellow haired, is in itself, a wallowing. it has you blind to positives and you are preaching from hatred. if you want to educate from hatred you are not being a logical and rational being.
there are a lot of us so called, pinkies ( i noticed we have become pink since your own photo makes you look so white) who also think 'the system" sucks and there are a lot of us who have the heart to actually care what happens to others.
i personally love being in muslim countries that allow me the freedom to be there and to enjoy the people, food and country ie; malaysia. my next trip i would like to go to morrocco and spain.
that still doesn't answer the question about the people, in afghanistan, on the ground, whilst you are saving the planet, in comfort and relative freedom.

so where will the afghan people be? sitting on toxic land, giving birth to deformed children, drinking polluted water, hobbling around on crutches, by that time, with NO legs. it is surely possible to have a state where people still maintain their religion. there were jews living in afghanistan since 2,500 years ago, people are able to live together, but all some of you do, is point out the negatives of the west, whilst sitting in it yourselves. but, believe me, it is unavoidable that some people will want the bad things of european style civilisation. a civilisation, which i agree, needs vast improvements.
you ridicule others for asking for afghanistan, what you yourselves, are wallowing in. i don't get it!
No one is telling anyone to fight or not fight Faye. We are simply saying that the man in Qandahar that picks up his gun to fight is doing so for obvious reasons.

The Muslim world is endorsing Western Liberalism and materialism and a number of isms. This is generally not our argument here.

Our point is that there are people in Afghanistan, really no different from Che Guavara's insurgency, or Bolivar's insurgency, or any other human being who says: "Ill rise against the odds, Ill fight the juggernaut... just as I fought the Russians... I'll fight this juggernaut and it will not enslave my kids... it will not steal my land... it will not eat my resources... it will not launch wars against other Muslims from bases here."

On the other hand, as an American, I am telling my countrymen that their actions abroad are causing them more pain than good and earning enough blowback to eventually bring misery to us here.

In reality, I would love it if my American comrades sat on couches, ate truffles, and enjoyed some episodes of Modern Family. And I can, without being hypocritical advocate this.

But how, can I morally tell an Afghan like Commander Dauran, the average Afghan: you have no right to fight what you deem is occupation?

      http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5e5_1283088242

For that matter, how could I, being a moral person, advocate for Dauran's death? I cannot. I can however explain his behavior to Baygham and point out that if I came to his home, broke down his door, and beat his mother, father, and wife up... that Baygham would have a human response and beat me up in return. If I went further, he would go further. There comes a point where a human being is willing to die rather than suffer in such ways. Hence "give me liberty or give me death." Or hence that young man burning himself in Tunisian and starting this wave of revolution.

Now if Dauran willingly decides to and put down his guns and go back to the countryside... that's his business. You are 100% correct that I cannot cheerlead him on from the sidelines just to satisfy me being "right" over Baygham or me being able to tell fellow Americans "haha." Purity of motive is paramount to any just revolution. And I am sure Dauran is not fighting just so he can wipe the smile of Karzai's face of Bush's face etc. He is doing so because he believes in his own autonomy. I would be unjust to advise him to accept a yolk that is not on me and that I would be putting on him.

alchemist, there are no profiles on most people i have checked, so how am i supposed to know who, what and where people are coming from? you seemed to b pretty quick jumping down my throat and making a judgement on me, if i remember correctly.
i am glad you are assisting your families but if no-one answers a question and explains themselves, i am not to know, am i?
b.a. you said the other day that you don't care about afghanistan, bosnia and wherever yet you keep disputing people who say they do care about afghanistan. you don't want america to have to pay some compensation to afghanistan so it seems that your main concern is america.
my own culture is beer, tv and sports, do you think i am impressed with that?
i lived in india for 2 years and in nepal for 9 months, earning my living day by day doing portraits, so i am not just a 'tourist' .yes poor people do like those things,. just because they are poor doesn't mean they are stagnant, and i don't recall saying 'excitement'. naturally, they would like peace even more. how to get it???

            how to get it?
Do you know why your culture is beer and tv?
Because for 2 hundred years your people pileged the resources of others. Now you ask: "how do they get it back?"
Let me make one thing clear to you faye - the answer to that question CAN NOT come from your people, your culture...given the fact that your people and your culture are the ones at fault. Now that 90% of your society is stricken with chronic apathy and lethargy because you've been "wallowing" in excess its too late to "fix" it. Australia does not belong in Afghanistan...yet every canadian, brit and aussie feels "morally" obligated to be in Afghanistan as if you were all good samaratans passing by a wounded and desperate soul on the side of the street....when in fact you put that wretched soul in that position to begin with! Then you have the audacity to think that we brought that misery upon our selves...or that because we were feeble we could not keep up pace with the speed of "modernization...look where the west is now? A bankrupt society that has not recovered in 80 years! fallen flat on its own face. Before Australia would send troops half way across the world to fight "terrorism" why don't they kick out the chinese triad from their own backyards? Instead of fighting for the poor of afghanistan why can't you be concerned for the indegious of Australia...majority of whom are living in poverty...wonder why that is? You can only see something if you are looking for it. And I assure you the people of Afghanistan, muslims in general, don't have the same mindset and aspirations as the people of india and nepal ... even though we have the same skin colour.

                Mr Edge

Non Muslims teachers are given the death sentence/40 Lashes if they permit their students to name their Class teddy bear as Mohammad, in inturn, its the right of Canadians to prohibit segregation. Its as simple as that.

If people oppose Music and Physical Education being taught to their Newly arrived children, then please do go back to a country where such things are outlawed I.E Saudi Arabia/Somalia under Shabab/Yeman villages.

I think the professor was very couragous and brave to say such things. It will not be long before his name is added to the other 1000s of intellectuals on Alqaeda/Arab Hit Squads Hitlists.

Mr Edge, what would be your response if in the next 50 years, majority of Pashtuns realise that Islam is not for them, according to Sharia what would happen to those Pashtuns? ? ?.

Mr Edge,Barakzai,Alchemist and unknownprince, Is it not abit hypocritical for you guys to accept the Secular laws of the Non Muslims but export your views of oppression under Sharia to your kin abroad?

Its very simple, If you feel like Sharia and Islam is for you and that Allah's word is final, then return your passport and renounce your citizenship, flee to Somalia under Shabab or Yeman and enjoy the freedoms of Sharia.

Its very simple as the professor said, if you do not do like the laws here and protest with this baseless and useless "victimised" behaviour, then please return to the country of your origin. Its not a Human rights issue or a genva convention one, under Sharia, there is no such thing as Human rights

Everything in our divine shariah is supreme and better than the man-made secular concepts such as human rights. The human rights that are enshrined in the shariah are superiour and are universal and perfect. The same is true for the islamic social security system, political system, social and economic system. Unfortunately there is no real islamic state right now ruling 100% with shariah, but that will happen very soon, Inshallah.

Lets compare just the "universal" declaration of human rights with the shariah:

                    hello maiwand.

i;m faye, from australia. i am not a muslim but i am curious about the ummah. i have read a basic description and it sounds interesting so i will be looking to learn more.
i would just like to say though, that there is one problem with any system of governance and that is people. in theory a lot of systems sound good but in practice there are always those who want to take control and advantage, so it seems.
would you like to explain the system you are recommending, a little. please don't give me a utube as i don't have enough credit on my laptop to keep viewing them all.

                        Dear Faye,
if you at this very moment, took 100 visas and said those who get these will have immigrant status in america, to join SX in the philadelphia getto, half the population will sign up for it. That is the status on the ground.

If the reverse was offered in USA, none of the muslim americans that I know or are here will sign up even if life in the best cities is offered.

i don't know any muslims in australia but i have muslim friends in borneo and they are wonderful people.
i would like to spend more time in a muslim country myself. i already have my belief system that serves me well but i have a good rapport with muslims, in the flesh, but not always on a forum. they like to project their prejudice about the west onto me. perhaps paranoid that i am this evil white feminist here to try and lead their women astray.

Dear Maiwand, your leader of the Faithful(Salafi) Abu Hamza aka Captain Hook once said that under Islamic Law you can have Non Muslim Slaves.

I have yet to see a single Faith based Law system that allows Slavery in this 21st Century.

When Countries invade and imperialise others, its wrong, its bad, but they do it out of greed and control, on the other hand, if you have god telling you to sell slaves, its a absolutely different topic and issue especially when your living in a non-muslim country.

If I was the leader of Holland, Instead of wasting time trying to control the uncontrollable(Afghanistan) I would spend more time, ridding society of Jihadist nuisences i.e Jewish Radicals,Islamist Salafis/Wahabis and lets not forget our own Christian radicals.

It would also be advisable to not permit any entry to Mullahs or any other religionous hateful clerics to spread and make money over their non sense and unfounded jibberish.

Maiwand, When Islam was at its glory, Sharia and a Islamic Ummah and State could not sustain itself and was destroyed by its own people.

Due to the past, the consequence of a Islamic state brought the creation of Shiasm, which is a much more terrible system of governing ones life, Marriages for a few months, self abuse in public and co. There would never be a Islamic state in this age and era, there will be bloodshed and a huge reduction in the Muslim population.

Please do not get excited over my opposition towards the unity of your Muslim people, I could not care less as both history and facts have proven Muslims can never be united.

Well, this is the point many intellectuals make non-stop.

Its not the fault of Muslims, Most Muslims are moderate and kind and hardly follow Islam to its fullest.

The words of Mohammad are contradicted by every school of thought as his words are written by man not himself as he could not read or write plus there is the question of why his words were written 300/200 years after his death.

There is a constant debate amongst Islamic circles of who is right and who is wrong.

Calling for the death penalty for leaving Islam, stoning women for adultry and invading atleast one country a year(Abdullah Azzam) plus the whole Non Muslim tax, no tolarance to their freedom of faith, prohibited to take part in government affairs under the Islamc state, goes to show that majority of good muslims out there are not following their faith and are closet "Secularists" but find it hard to admitt.
