  • It was narrated from Abu’l-Maleeh that a man said:

I was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when an animal stumbled. I said: “Woe to the Shaytaan.”
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not say woe to the Shaytaan, for if you say that he grows bigger until he is like a house, and he says, ‘It is by my power.’
Rather say: ‘Bismillaah,’ for if you say that, he grows smaller, until he is like a fly.”

Narrated by Ahmad, 20068; Abu Dawood, 4982; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

    • It is reported from Tariq Ibn Shihab (radiAllaahu anhu) that the Prophet (pbuh) said: “A man entered Paradise because of a fly, while another entered the Fire because of a fly.“

They asked: “How was that possible, oh, Messenger of Allah ?”

He replied: “Two men passed by a people who had an idol, which it was not permissible for anyone to pass without making a sacrifice to it. They (the people) said to the first man: “Sacrifice (something). The First man said. “I have nothing with which to do so.” They said, “Sacrifice some-thing, even if it were only a fly,” and so he did so, and they allowed him to continue on his way and so he entered the Hell-fire. Then they said to the second man: “Sacrifice (something).” But he said: “I will not sacrifice anything unless it be to Allah , the Almighty, the All-powerful,” so they struck his neck (and he died) and entered Paradise.“

      (Narrated by Ahmad)

If you truly ponder upon this hadith you will realise the true dangers of Shirk however small it may be, and the greatness of Tawheed how ever little it may be.

      • ''Leave me as I leave you; those before you were only destroyed because of their excessive questioning and disputing with their Prophets. Therefore, when I command you with a matter, adhere to it as much as you can, and when I forbid from something, avoid it.''

        [Muslim]

The Prophet only said this after he told the Companions that Allah has ordered them to perform Hajj. A man asked, "Every year, O Messenger of Allah'' The Prophet did not answer him, but he repeated his question three times. Then the Prophet said: ''No. Had I said yes, it would have been ordained, and you would not have been able to implement it.''

        • Abu Dhar al-Ghafari said: “The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) said: ‘Sadaqah is prescribed for every person every day the sun rises.’ I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, from what do we give sadaqah if we do not possess property?’ He said: ‘The doors of sadaqah are takbir (Allahu Akbar), Subhan Allah, Alhamdulillah, La-ilaha-ilAllah, Astaghfirullah, enjoining good, forbidding evil, removing thorns, bones and stones from the paths of people, guiding the blind, listening to the deaf and dumb until you understand them, guiding a person to his object of need if you know where it is, hurrying with the strength of your legs to one in sorrow who is appealing for help, and supporting the weak with the strength of your arms. These are all the doors of sadaqah.” [Ahmad]

In other words one does not need to have financial resources to earn the reward of sadaqah. There are many deeds that qualify as sadaqah with Allah (subhana wa ta’ala). In addition to those listed above the following ordinary courtesies are also sadaqah if we do them with the intention of pleasing Allah with them.

          1. To administer justice between two people is sadaqah.
          2. To assist a man upon his mount so that he may ride it is sadaqah.
          3. To place his luggage on the animal is sadaqah. *
          4. A good word is sadaqah.
          5. Every step taken toward prayer is sadaqah.
          6. Your smile for your brother is sadaqah.
          7. Planting anything from which a person, an animal or anything eats is sadaqah.*

          • Allah’s Apostle said to us: ”Honesty descended from the Heavens and settled in the roots of the hearts of men (faithful believers), and then the Quran was revealed and the people read the Quran, (and learnt it from it) and also learnt it from the Sunna.”

[Volume 9, Book 92, Number 381: Narrated Hudhaifa]

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Thereshould be no breaking off of ties, no turning away from another, no hating one another, and no envying one another. Be brothers, as Allah has commanded you."

            • Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah have mercy on him):

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said, “Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded; and gain strength by worshipping in the mornings, the nights.”

The Prophet said: "On every Muslim there is enjoined (a compulsory) Sadaqa (alms)." They (the people) said: "If one has nothing?' He said: "He should work with his hands so that he may benefit himself and give in charity." They said: "If he cannot work or does not work?" He said: "Then he should help the oppressed unhappy person (by word or action or both)." They said: "If he does not do it?" He said: "Then he should enjoin what is good (or said what is reasonable).' They said: "If he does not do that''' He said: "Then he should refrain from doing evil, for that will be considered for Him as a Sadaqa (charity)."
