As always more useless stuff from folks who know next to nothing about Islam but are called scholars by Toramana and his ilk simply because they propound the viewpoint he wants to appropriate.

Why do you bring this lesbian trash here and expect us to respect you more?

Dalia Mogahed made her look like an idiot, despite the fact that Manji had Goldberg in her pocket:

lol at that stupid dike who calls herself muslim when speaking to crowds of jews and euros while collecting a fat check, to make her anti islamic views more credible to the gullible.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I nearly vomited when I listened to how disgraceful Irshad Manji played to the typical capitalistic obsessive compulsive disorder of exploiting gender.

Observe to how she touts typical Capitalist friendly objectives of Microfinance and tries passing them off as solutions for literacy and female disempowerment. Disgusting; they'll rape women and pretend to be standing for them.

If Manji was sincere she'd acknowledge that destitution is connected almost entirely to displaced resources and disrupted ecological relationships brought on by imperial hegemony, both in classical imperialism and modern global capitalism.

In her book she touts Ismaili doctrine (though not an Ismaili) because it caters to Imperial notions of social liberalism; something corporation oligarchies apply to exploit the population and promote a wasteful and self destructive society.

It's a disgrace to call these people scholars; it's like calling Dr. Seuss a scholar.

reza aslan is a spineless academic wimp; he merely appeals to feelings, he's not so much an apologist for anything but he's so ineffective and nebulous that he loses any debate. I can understand why they had Reza debate Manji, Next to her he's a total dimwit. If she was debating Ali Shariati she'd be ripped apart at the seams.

This is exactly why I entered this forum; we need a strong and more cohesive intellectual front for Islam and the Muslim. Someone that knows what's happening in todays world and how to get it done.

Thwart off all these "Reformed Islam" hyenas and how subservient their agenda is to Capitalist Hegemony.

Ali Shariati had that great concept "Westoxification" - I really like that word he created which explained the experiences of an entire generation exposed to bad influences from America mainly, and the West.

But: he was a socialist, for which I cannot forgive him !
              Too leftist for me.
There should be better, stronger Islamic models than Ali Shariati in my opinion.

I'm glad for what Scimitar wrote here, so as not to have to sit through a vapid debate.

Always let us know the truth about any of these characters who dubbed "authorities".
              MUCH appreciated analyses.

P.S> - Just saw those first replies. UGH!
              How disgusting!
It's unhealthy to even look at her. For sure, whoever said she's collecting a big paycheck for her toeing the anti-Islamic party line was exactly on target.
              Good points, everyone!

Yes, Azlaan and Farid Zakariah are like two sides of the same coin. I think Azlaan is more concerned about at least maintaining 1-2% of what he knows is the actual truth... he is not malignant.... he is just Colmes to manjis retarded Hannity.

Well, once you actually post a balanced article that takes someone who is not specifically on the camp that either denigrates or bashes Islam or distorts it, say for example even if you posted a viewpoint by someone professorial who is critical of Political Islam, like Bernard Lewis, but still is academic, then you would be less capable of being labeled. But you have consistently posted videos by people who are manjified.

Side Note: I do not agree with Bernard Lewis on many things.

                          Re Bernard Lewis:
                          He is a mysterious character.
I met him in person and he's quite nice.
BUT: he's Mr Neo=Con pusher behind the scenes.
Don't be fooled by his academic treatises.
He's a hard-core Zionist and he alone got a lot of neo-con Jewish figures into high positions, such as in the Pentagon.
                          Hence: Iraq invasion,
                          Hence: Iran threat of invasion
                          Hence: Afghanistan invasion and conquest

You have to know what he's about.
                          Most people don't.

I agree, but I am just saying that there is a big difference between the way his mind works and Irshaad Manjis mind works. Irshad Manji is a shock artist and Bernard Lewis is an academic (but not correcty on a number of points). Manji makes her living on exploiting anger at Muslims and projects it towards inciting violent intervention in Muslim lands and even questioning the Quranic ayaahs.

He had this odd idea that sort of painted me like those folks that live in the New Jersey enclaves and only know other Muslims and develop a deep distrust and hatred for anything that looks, smells, feels American. He then proceeded to accuse me of being a pan Islamist because the ummah was my mosque. I still am lost in the language of his psychoanalysis of me. It appears to change every week.
