Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:
[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.
[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

We need to spread awareness about Islam to teach those women to realize they are doing themselves unjust by having no self esteem and not honoring and respecting their feminity.Originally posted by MeemWawMeemNoon View PostWhat about Muslim women who call themselves Muslim but are worst then Western women in action?[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

lol that is sickA good comparison I was given pertaining to a Western woman was,
she is a pile of feces attracting flies, either you brush off the flies and leave the pile of feces stinking, or you completely remove the feces and by purifying her with Islaam

The reason why women are better educated in Western countries is because of the economy. The general standard of life has risen and people make enough money to provide education for everyone.Originally posted by StrategistMaseed View PostHow come the litrarcy rate amongst Western women is very high than those Women living in Muslim countries, why is this?

Here is the big Question, why are Muslim women more protected in the west in regards to human rights than those in the Muslim world?
The second question cannot be answered as you have posed the question. There is no evidence to support the claim that women are better protected here than in Islamic countries. Fact is that women fall victim to abuse and opression quite often even in the most advanced societies.
But one benefit Western countries have over most of Muslim world is rule of law. Because they have rule of law here in Western Europe, women have the opportunity to seek protection. The infrastructure to facilitate justice and protection is present here because they have effective and efficient government.
In Islamic countries, in contrary, NOWHERE can you find decent rule of law. Most Muslim countries are ran by corrupt and evil selfish nihilists who regard women as cattle and deny them their islamic rights.
In fact in our tribe, many conservative people do not allow women to study Islam because they fear the women might realize how much they deserve more and how many rights they have that are being denied by their fathers and husbands and brothers.
We have to change this. And the only way we can change this, is to facilitate education. Our society needs proper education both secular and Islamic education.
Islam suppose to liberate women from opression. But in Afghanistan, Islam is used as a tool to opress women.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

I apologize first and foremost if my last post doesn't make any sense. I responded to it when it was a separate thread.
I will say this...
If you look in the early 1900s, the vast majority of women in the West were at-home moms who stayed at home, prepared meals, cared for their children, and the also dressed modest. I mean, look at this:

A lot of them (that were Christian) would cover their hair with a bonnet because they know that Christianity asks of this. They seemed modest, decent, happy, and most importantly, the large majority seemed to put their family as the priority (which is very admirable in my eyes).
When WWI started, the men went off to Europe to fight the war, and the women had no choice but to start working. Then they became this:

The women got a taste of what it was like to get out of the house, become workers, and make money. Notice the hair is still covered, but the clothes are getting tighter, why? Because this is an add, that again was probably created by man or had the goal to make women look attractive. At this time, women got all of the spotlight, and had a change from the norm, and some of them liked it. They juggled two things: work and raising a family. But, this was expected to be a temporary burden because men would be home soon from the war and resume the labour.
When the war ended, they still wanted to work. They liked the so called "freedom" and they liked making money. Of course, once you get a taste of having more money, it feels nice. It's hard to go down to less. So...I guess you can say WWI had the women going into the work force, and greed kept them in it after the war.
Of course, overtime, this became an expectation of women. To raise their children, and work. People wanted more money. And, when you watch your mother juggle both raising children and working, you feel you can also do both - so naturally, this continued.
But the one thing I have noticed is, although the women work (often just as much as the men do), when the husband gets home, HE gets to relax, and SHE has to clean, take care of the house, take care of the kids. The woman gets NO break. So..this greed of hers in the Western society has led to nothing but a double burden. A womans work day starts from the minute she wakes up, to the minute she goes to sleep. Rarely, does a man do much when he gets home (aside from maybe cut the grass once a month and fix things when they're occasionally broken).

On top of all of this burden, women in the west are expected to be petite, have perfect hair, have the perfect body, and look like the women on the magazine. Men will put down their wives if they gain a little bit of weight, or age in the slightest. They are used as trophies, to show off to the world. But, really, they are nothing more than slaves. Women are forced to feel insufficient, to feel not good enough because the media (mostly driven by men) pain these images of perfect women and say that is who they need to be. So, we work, we raise children, we tend to our husbands, AND we need to do that all while attempting to attain this perfect image.
Not to say that this doesn't exist in other parts of the world, but I grew up here. I know what its like. I watched my mother slave all day at work (as did my dad) and if he got home and dinner wasn't on the table, she was in trouble. If the house wasn't clean, she was in trouble. If she gained 5 pounds, she was "ugly". You can deny it all you want, but this is typical here. And, if the men arent' complaining about the women not looking perfect, its because they are out at a strip club, with a prostitute, or cheating on you.
Islam taught me that I don't need to be perfect on the outside. I need to be perfect on the inside. I strive to work on myself as a person, as a Muslim. And that is what makes you feel beautiful, and that is what makes you beautiful in your husbands eyes. When you bare their child, they adore you for it, even if you get stretchmarks. Women DO work if they choose to, but again, this is a choice. 58% of university graduates in Saudi Arabia are WOMEN, but they're only like 22% of the work force. They CHOOSE to be a housewife. Muslim men don't push women to go make extra money, because in Islam, we learn to appreciate what we have, and don't dream for what we cannot afford. We live within our means. Of course, this is not in all Islamic countries. An example opposing this would be Lebanon. Even though they're Muslim, they are very americanized, and they all strive to look perfect. Why? Because the fashion is too much of a priority, and the appearance is important, and because if women stay at home, they are oppressed. But, this country is VERY Westernized, and therefore it only comes naturally.
So, yes I would say that the Western Woman is oppressed. She is burdened. She is objectified and looked at as a piece of meat. I would say the Muslim woman is liberated (in most situations), is respected, is treated with dignity and pride.

Many western woman may be able to read and write, but to be able to think and apply things in their proper place is alien to them. Real knowledge is wisdom and not having a degree.Originally posted by StrategistMaseed View PostHow come the litrarcy rate amongst Western women is very high than those Women living in Muslim countries, why is this?
The one who is educated about islam and implements her knowledge is considered an educated woman. Even if she has never stepped a foot into a secular school.
A woman who has several degrees but does not know zilch about islam, is still considered ignorant woman. Perfect example of an intellectually mutilated one
What are human rights and who created such rights? Does Allah the creator who is free from any wants or needs or people who cannot even last a few minutes without oxygen? Also
Here is the big Question, why are Muslim women more protected in the west in regards to human rights than those in the Muslim world?
And again we are discussing ideology.Last edited by Guest; 06-08-2010, 06:23 PM.

What Drives the Beauty Myth?
The facts are clear with regards to the woman who adopts the Western identity. She is not really free to define for herself her own image but is pressurized to live up to certain expectations; these expectations are themselves a fantasy; the quest for beauty has not brought her respect in the society or made her valued. If all these points are true then we should ask ourselves certain questions. Why is it that this beauty myth continues to be propagated to women near and far? Why do more women not realize that they are being deceived daily? Why is the image of the Western woman based upon the Western identity and secular view of life then presented as the role model for women globally to imitate?
The answer, as with every issue that is defined by the capitalist manmade way of life, is money and profit. The beauty, cosmetic, fashion, and plastic surgery industries are driven by multibillion dollar corporations, as are the magazines that advertise them and encourage the images that they represent.
The quest for beauty therefore needs to be maintained in order for the profit-margins of these companies to be protected. The unrealistic images and targets for women to aspire to have to continue in order that their revenue continues to grow as women persistently struggle in order to spend their money to measure up to the constantly changing goals.
Naomi Wolf quotes in her book, The Beauty Myth, "An economy that depends on slavery needs to promote images of slaves that 'justify' the institution of slavery." Such a beauty myth needs to be hidden as far as possible from the public eye in order to keep the dollars and pounds rolling in. Hence, the image of the woman of the West continues to be the role model for women worldwide to feed the appetite of a few greedy company directors and corporation owners. An economist John Kenneth Galbraith commented on this quest for beauty, saying that it "has been forced on us by popular sociology, by magazines, and by fiction to disguise the fact that woman in her role of consumer has been essential to the development of our industrial society...Behavior that is essential for economic reasons is transformed into a social virtue."
As mentioned previously, the beauty industry in the UK secures revenue of £8.9 billion every year. The fashion industry has global revenue totaling $1.5 thousand billion every year, whilst diet items are a $74 billion a year industry in the US (Time Magazine 1988). A cosmetic surgeon in the US can very easily earn $1 million a year. In fact, when India won the Miss World Beauty for two years, a number of womens groups in India commented that it was less to do with the outstanding beauty of Miss India and more to do with international cosmetic companies wanting to penetrate the Indian market. In addition to this, the medium of TV and magazines receive millions in advertising from these industries in order to present the images of “Beautiful women” who supposedly use or wear their products. The cosmetic and toiletries industries spend proportionately more on advertising than any other industry. At one time, a single issue of the beauty magazine Harper’s and Queen carried £100,000 worth of ads from cosmetic companies. As a result, it is not surprising to read the words of one writer for ‘Cover-up’ magazine, who said, "Beauty editors are rarely able to write freely about cosmetics" because advertisers require an editorial promotion as a condition for placing the ad.
Having understood this, should the intelligent woman really be taken in by these lies and deception that surrounds the image of the Western woman or should she think carefully about the correct identity and image to adopt for life?
