Like John Stewart of the Daily Show said, these people (the Pashtuns) don't want to be ruled
This shows how immature and uninformed you are. Kurds are a distinct nationality with Iranian ethnic heritage and speaking an Iranian language unlike Turks who are flat-nosed Mangoloids and descendents of Changez Khan, Halagu Khan. Turkish is from Altaik language family far distant from Kurdish.

Turks call Kurds mountain Turks to deny them their rights and identity. And Turks are living like perenial parasites on Kurds resources. Turks are also Pashtuns enemies because they have been supporting Uzbak warlord Rashid Dostum against Pashtuns just out of Turkish sympathy.

Actually Kurds are an Iranian or Indo-Iranian group as I recall without checking.

Unknown, I can't stand watching American TV shows, the energy of the commentators and presenters is SO BAD>

In contrast, there is a fabulous interview done by Press TV in which the interviewer shows REAL COMPASSION. I plan to post it at some point.

This points up the vast difference between the American style of TV which is forced on us, as we have no other choice, and a REAL interview which engages the souls of the people.
American ones are just people chatting or talking. Those interviewed contribute little to a true understanding of the situation anywhere unfamiliar.

You have to realize that by resting your all - important EYES on discordant figures for very long can throw off your inner sensing devices for Good and Evil, Truth and Lies.

This is my own theory : that THIS could be why Americans are so easily LED by false leaders. They are enticed to suspend their own much better judgment in favor of these
      vapid so called "experts".

        Turks have normal noses ....!
It's the Kirghiz or Kazakh peoples who have MORE of that look from the earlier Turkic nomadic tribes.

In that earlier Religion post, I stated it was BAD that Turks label Kurds this way.
I already acknowledged this obvious injustice.

Kurds need more autonomy, obviously, within the country of Turkey.
And Erdogan's govt is starting to agree.
Due to European pressures, only, perhaps.
But for the first time, serious strides are being promised to let the Kurds teach and keep their language and culture alive. It's a great step forward.
Kurds are too nice people in general to be trampled.

Yes, and here I see how the Turkish nationalism is oozing out of you although you come here, adovacte Jehad for young Pashtun kids who need pens not guns and try to insult our national heroes like Bacha Khan.

Kurds have the right to full self-determination as the Turks have. Don't view it from the angle of Turkish nationalism.

            Toramana,

You're displeased because I don't want Kurdish guerrillas wreaking havoc in Turkey, that's all !
Both Turks and Kurds, and every other group too inside the boundaries of Turkey, such as the Bektashis in Haci Bektas, whom I visited, too, deserve fair treatment and no discrimination.

This topic has NOTHING to do with Pashtun fighters liberating Afghanistan from the repression brought by alien invasionary forces.

Unknown, yes you are exactly right.
GOOD selection of pic to illustrate this!
The Seljuks came to Anatolia where there were Greeks long settled there.

A lot of the Turks married Circassians from the Caucasus, Probably this is more of a factor in the Europeanizing features of the Turkic tribes than anything else.
Circassians with fair eyes and hair often, were some of the most sought after wives of Ottoman Sultans, too.

The two issues i.e., the occupation of Kurdish lands togethor with the plunderous exploitation of their resources at the hands of Turks, are not separate from each other. Even you can say, US-NATO/ISAF forces have been mandated by UNO whereas Turks are maintaining their occupation with guns and brute force.

You cannot self-servingly interpret the two issues differently.

Do the Kurds have the right to full self-determination including independence from Turkey or not? Have you lobeyed for the self-determination of Kurds as you have here for Taleban?

You should also tell us what were the reasons Turks have been supporting Rashid Dostum against Pashtuns (and Taleban as well)?

Catya, the original Turks (not the ones who are now in Turkey) were from the Turkic tribes from Eastern China. Some of them do have flat noses as is common with Mongloids (what this has to do with anything being discussed is puzzling). We have family friends who are from the region in China where the Turks originate, and they are fervent Muslims. The Turks in Turkey through intermarriage with local populations of Europe, lost some of their characteristic features. however, you can still see Turks who look like the original Turks (Hedo Turkogolu from the eyes) Turkey now is connecting back with their fellow Turks in Turkistan, Turkmenistan, and other Turkic-speaking countries.

Okay back to the topic, Toramana, please stop changing the topic to your sad obsession with race. Back to Afghanistan and occupation. Toramana, this is your known strategy to change the topic.
My friend you have young impressionable mind and have been too mesmarized by this lady, who to my wonders, has also visited Pakistan, which is not without doubts.

                    New post of Toramana,

You never did respond to the remarks I made about turkey, after you asked my opinion once awhile back.

Please explain YOUR ideas about Turkey somewhere on the Forum.

I like all the GOOD in Pashtun everything.
I just abhor these Ghani Khan, Frontier Gandhi type of people !
They do NOT represent Pashtun CULTURE.

Rather, they are some type of movement which has hijacked that for their own personal gains.
This is MY off the cuff assessment.

I like Pashtun language: it was fun to hear it again in the interesting video about the Taliban commander made by the Norweigian, I think. I greatly enjoyed hearing that familiar "Kha"...!
                    Catya Sher.

I don't know what you are and I don't care.

But if you think you can come to Pashtun Forums and insult Ghani Khan and Bachaa Khan like that, you're mistaken.

You're a confused woman who's hopping between Salafis perverts and and Wahabi suicide-bombers who kill more Pashtuns than the Pakistani army and NATO combined. But that's your business. However, you should be very careful about the words you utter about our leaders over here. Bachaa Khan represents neither one party, brand of thinking nor any ideology - he is the representation of everything a Pashtun should be.

Perhaps you should feed to your off-the-burkha mind that Bachaa Khan was a pious and practicing Muslim unlike the rosha-khor and adam-khor malagaan you love to uphold. When he died, the only possessions he had were the clothes on his back, his spectacles and his copy of the Quran. He was sent to jail for no reason even after he had exceeded the age of 80. He spent his whole life trying to tell people to love each other and not to kill each other. Just before his death, he traveled from Peshawar to Karachi in a third class train cabin to stop Muslims from killing each other. Personal gains? Frontier Gandhi type people? Is this how demean your parents? If not then kindly spare our forefathers from your confused religiously motivated wrath? Pa pohe slay shajay? Understand?

Do you even know what the Taliban (Mullah Omar, Mehsud, Haqqani, Hekmatyaar) did to those Pashtuns that you love so much while they were in power? Or would you have believed it yourself if you were whipped in public for wearing makeup under your burkha?

Your beloved Greeks (most modern-day Turkish citizens are actually Greeks who were Turk-ized during the Ottoman era) imprisoned Leyla Zana for 15 years. Her crime? She spoke in Kurdish in their parliament. Wake up, woman. Are you intoxicated 24/7?

Mahatma Gandhi was once asked whether he was surprised or not that he found advocates of non-violence amongst Pashtuns. Gandhiji replied that he is not surprised at all because non-violence requires immense bravery and that is something Pashtuns possess. That is why, he continued, Pashtuns are better advocates and practitioners of nonviolence than any other people. But to a hateful person like yourself and the people you uphold, the Mahatma is an idol-worshiper and you prefer murderers, thugs and drug-barons over him. May your favorite deity guide you.

People back to the topic at hand. LZ, Catya, and Toranama if you want to discuss the lives of our elders by all means start a new thread. Catya, bacha Khan is our elder and along with Khan Samad Khan shaheed sacrificed decades of his life in prison...they went through torture at the hands of Britain and Pakistan. To ridicule their sacrifices to a mere claim that they were non-muslims (which is takfir, and the price of takfir is huge either the person who you called kaffir is kaffir or the person who put forward the allegation) and abhorrent. Anyways...my point is that let us stick to the topic and if you have any queries put forward a new thread.

I use my eyes and ears. Simple.

I have spent enough time in Peshawar speaking with both Afghans and Pakistani Pashtuns, as well as other groups to discern clearly Gen Gul's speaking style.

I have found a few articles by him and other of your favorite friends -! - they usually speak with Pakistani English.

Listen to Pakistan's ex-leader being interviewed by NPR [probably] on the video posted a few weeks ago comparing his capitulation to America with Ahmadinejad's. [ It was a great find. Whoever located that tremendous video deserves Allah's choicest blessings...]

All the Pakistan military men have the same cadence, and special usage of words when speaking English. The very same which is spoken throughout the country.

Hence I don't need to be Nancy Drew, the girl detective, to observe such obvious signs that Hamid Gul was far, far away at the time this Islamic Emirate letter was composed...

Neither does Unknown need to employ a crystal ball of a fortune teller to guess that Gen Gul spends a lot of time, like everyone else there, drinking chai.
Health advisory: hope it's not that awful "milk tea". [I always waved that, which would be automatically brought out, aside and requested tor or shin Chai sans sugar or milk. Ugh.]

Yes I know that. Your ears and eyes are ultra-sensitive(and your common-sense is also super-sharp) to slight things said and written in support of Islamic militancy but absolutely frozen to the ordeals and pains of those kids, women, and sisters of my people whose nears and dears have been killed in countless bomb-attacks. You like to take Turkish apricots instead when you are asked (uncomfortable) questions about the miseries of Kurds who have been subject to Halako-Khani barbarism in Turkey for almost one century.

I have spent enough time in Peshawar speaking with both Afghans and Pakistani Pashtuns, as well as other groups to discern clearly Gen Gul's speaking style.
The first thing is, it is unimaginable an ideologically-motivated person/foreigner would be in Peshawar these days for some mandane task.
Rest how could you discern Hamid Gul's speaking style by just talking to Pashtuns? By the way, here we are talking about the text of the letter. The rhetoric, the diplomatic language, the style of rational-building, the discourse-structure, etc. belies who might have drafted the letter.

Believe me, I know very well (and have observed very thoroughly) the pan-Islamist and ideological content of the discourse that Islamist make, their reasoning style, the kind of political and diplomatic vocabulary they employ, the strategic language they use, their thesis and anti-thesis, etc. And I also have read your posts thoroughly. I was astonished how propmtly you tried to refute me although I had made that comment in passing.

Please, don't be paranoid. There is no conspiracy going on. Turkey is a secular state, they have even banned the headscarves in schools and public places. And what they do with the Kurds is wrong, but look what the PKK does, that is also contrary to islamic teachings. Real muslims should only fight for the supremacy of Islam and to bring the word of Allah (swt) as the highest, so if the Taliban gain victory in Afghanistan inshallah, they will thereafter also succeed in Pakistan, Central Asia and they will even liberate Turkey and implement Islam in it, as prophesied by the prophet (pbuh). Of course the muslims of Afghanistan will not be the only ones, other muslims from Irak, Somalia, Yemen, will help them achieve this goal and they will even receive help from many sincere muslims inside Turkey. And finally the Islamic Khilafah will be established inshallah. So don't worry.
