I actually don't know much of Al-Qeada, but I thought they were aided by the Taliban. But obviously I agree that we attacked for resources. That's been the reason for US action since the 1950s.
I'm personally against nations being formed for one group of people, I mean it's what happened with Israel and look, decades of conflict have happened. I don't know why anyone would want to go down that route.
Well I had no idea Afghanistan was a power house once.
Nice to meet you too. :DglLast edited by Guest; 04-25-2010, 05:49 AM.

I know all about the creation of the Taliban, it's not news to me personally, though I don't know what honor and pride they fought for. They seemed like a mob of violent thugs made to fight for someone elses battles. I certainly wouldn't want the Taliban here in California :PThe U.S.A itself aided the Taliban to defeat the soviets, The Taliban was a movement started by Pashtuns in Kandahar to defend the honor, pride of our country and women. They were loved and respected by U.S presidents, after 9/11 when the USA wanted "Osama" and ONE Taliban leader said "Show us proof" relationships got bitter.Well, yes and no. Here's a map that shows the development of Israel: http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/images/israel.gif A lot of Leftist Jews (like Albert Einstein) thought the creation of Israel was a mistake, but now that it's here, I do support a two state solution. I certainly don't want to see Israel destroyed. But isn't the Taliban all about fundamentalist Islam? That's the impression I get.Israel is a whole different story, thats more of a religious issue. What's a martial race?Haha. now you do, People like Alex the great has said things like, "Mom, You have gave birth to a lion(talking about himself) but here in Afghanistan, everybody is a lion" The British also considered the Afghans as a martial race for not being subdued. What do those parties stand for exactly?1- JI and JUI 2- Pakistan peoples party 3- ANP

Well, extremely long story short, what people collectively call "Taliban" are descendants of Afghan warlords who lived off the opium and heroin trade Afghanistan is known for. The PDPA tried addressing this by eliminating the poppies (same thing the US did in its history to defeat slavers and warlords during the Reconstruction era) which incurred the wrath of the warlords. The PDPA then in turn asked their Soviet allies for assistance, and the rest is history. The US did a big mistake I believe in arming fundamentalist for what? Just to get back at our rivals? What do you know? Explain what you know.Unfortunately, I think Americans, especially here in Orange County, would think anything against the Soviet Union was honorable. But weren't women horribly abused under the Taliban? I mean, they made them wear those burqas for example. The honor for the country and the women, They defended the country against the Russians and defeated the Russians with American support. Even Americans consider it as honorary.Well, I don't tend to get my opinions from mainstream media, but yes of course the mainstream media is overwhelmingly against them now. That's good but I mean, we should have told the truth about them from the beginning. Mainstream media is there to filter news, not report it.Thanks to the media, now they do. Good and bad exist in all.Oh, really? No,no,no. They are a group of student. That's what it means. If you are in University, you are a Talib.

What ever is the party affiliation of the Pashtuns /Afghans,if they do not take care of the following points then we should know that the person claiming to be Afghan/Pashtun is either deceiving himself/herself or an imposter bringing destruction and catastrophe to the Afghanland across the Durand line and our nation.
1) That Pashtuns do not diccriminate anyone on the basis of color, creed, race, language , religion , territory or country.
2) That Pashtuns have never been imperialist, extremists, terrorist or sectarianists in their known history.
3) That our language, culture, country, land, traditions, values, ideology should be given the same respect as they demand from us.
4) That we cannot surrendor our rights in the name of any muslim ,or pakistani or asiatic brotherhood or other utopian ideas. We will always stand firm for our basic rights.
5) That the motherland and fatherland of all Pashtuns is Afghanistan though they might be living in various countries and we have to make sure that the ultimate worth of our life adds to the prosperopus future of our land, our people or soil though not at the cost of others' lives or destruction.
6) That any party or group , no matter how sacred or how sanctified it is in the eyes of the world,if has nothing good to offer for Pashtuns Afghans is of no use to us.
7) That we are not cannon fodders or gunnea pigs or scape goats to safegaurd the ideology or interests or glory of Arabs,Punjabis or any other nations. We are not with a party to sacrifice our life for it but to better our life.
8) That nothing, absolutly nothing is acceptible to us at the cost of our self respect and freedom.
