ISLAMABAD — The “Dancers Street” in Swat, which has been deserted for nearly two years, is going to have its old days back as dancers and singers who fled because of Taliban are planning a comeback. “I’m for sure going back as thAsiaose barbarians, who forced me and several others to leave our homes, have run away,” Rubina Khanum, a 31-year-old Swat dancer and singer, told IslamOnline.net.
She was among many dancers and singers in Mingora, Swat’s capital, who fled after Taliban threats, especially following the killing of local dancer Shabana who refused to give up her profession.

“This is none of Taliban’s business to tell us what is a sin and what is not. It should be left to us to decide what is right and what is wrong.” Khanum moved to Peshawar, the capital of North Western Frontier Province (NWFP), where she lives in a well-decorated apartment in the posh Hayatabad suburb.
“I have everything here,” she said, dressed in a low-cut green dress and putting on heavy make-up.
“I can have admirers wherever I go. But I want to go back to my home. I miss my street.”
Swat dancers are famous all over Pakistan and are hired by rich families for wedding ceremonies and other private celebrations.
The government announced early in July that the military had "eliminated" Taliban militants in and around the Swat valley after an all-out offensive launched in April.
It said more than 1,700 militants have been killed, though death tolls are impossible to confirm independently.
Swat, once known as Switzerland of Pakistan, was ravaged the past one and half years by fierce fighting between local Taliban and government troops.
Nearly 3 million people were forced to flee their homes.
Fearful
Mehwish Khan, another Swat dancer, also plans to go back home.
But unlike Khanum, she is fearful.
“No one wants to stay away from his or her home, and so do I. But I’m little scared because the situation has not returned to normal yet,” Mehwish, living in Peshawar with her family, told IOL.
Mehwish, who has worked as a dance teacher for the past year, fled Swat after receiving direct threats from Taliban.
“We became extra careful after receiving letters and dealt with only trustable and special clients,” she recalled.
“But it could not have been kept totally a secret.”
Six months ago, Mehwish received the “last warning” telling her to either die of leave the valley.
“I had two choices. I opted for the second choice.”
She is just hoping Taliban would never come back.
“We want our street to remain light up, and this is possible only if they stay away from Swat.”

Who are you trying to fool here? Most Pashtuns never let their women talk to their non-mahram relatives. So I dont believe Swati women would go and participate in a survey held by total strangers.

Dr Weiss, head of the Department of International Studies at the University of Oregon, toured the Swat valley and held in-depth discussions with the Swati women, and concluded that they [Swati women] also want the government to take bold steps for the revival of rural economy of the valley so that they can earn livelihood and raise their families.

So as you can see A. It was a woman who did the interview and B. It was an independent study not "Army" propaganda..But still you called every woman in swat a prostitute, it shows how much respect you give to women

Anyways the women werent the only ones and by your logic Swati Qaumi Jirga is also full of prostitutes

PESHAWAR: Expressing satisfaction over the ongoing military operation in Swat, Buner and Dir Lower districts, members of the Swat Qaumi Jirga on Sunday asked the government and security forces to take it to its logical conclusion.

“Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Sirajul Haq and Imran Khan should not score political points on the massacre of our children and destruction of our property,” said the Jirga members after its meeting at the provincial headquarters of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) here.

“We wish to convey our voice to the participants of the government-sponsored All Parties Conference (APC), scheduled to be held today (Monday), not to pay heed to the voices of some so-called political and religious elements who want an end to the operation in Malakand Division,” the Swat Qaumi Jirga declared.

Besides Jirga members, the meeting was attended by Swat district Nazim Jamal Nasir, Nazim Batkhela Abdul Jabbar, Ayub Khan, Ziauddin Yousafzai and Provincial President of PkMAP Mukhtar Khan Yousafzai.

Briefing the journalists, Mukhtar Yousafzai, flanked by the rest of the Jirga members, said the Swat operation should continue till the militants laid down their arms or were eliminated. “The problem can’t be solved through talks as the government has already conceded much time and concessions. Now it is time to act,” said Yousafzai while voicing strong support for the military action. He said religious or other parties asking for an end to the operation had two options. “Either they are supporting the terrorists or are against them,” said Yousafzai, who also demanded of the provincial and central governments to charge the former commissioner Malakand Division Muhammad Javed and Chief of Tanzim Nifaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) Sufi Muhammad over the killing hundreds of people.

Nazim Swat Jamal Nasir, Nazim Batkhela Abdul Jabbar and Ziauddin Yousafzai said although they were satisfied with the pace of the operation, yet the people of the Malakand Division wanted the elimination of the top Taliban leadership.

“The operation must be quick and targeted. Security forces will win hearts of the people by eliminating the high value targets in Swat,” they demanded. Some of the Jirga members complained that the Taliban FM radio was still operational, creating doubts in the minds of the people of Swat.

The Jirga members appealed to the people to boycott the religious and political parties demanding suspension of the operation and asking for talks with the militants at this crucial time.

They also warned against some elements active in the camps for the internally displaced persons in the guise of welfare organisations. They asked the government to take action against such elements.
