To glorify what the taliban do and call them pashtoon, let alone amongst the best of pashtoon and coming from someone, supposedly educated and world wise. I thought you are ignorant of ground realities but supposedly you have spent your entire adult life there, I am literally dumbfounded.

This cant be a rational sentiment, it has to have some underlying emotional connotations. Please help me understand, I am baffled. But if it was sarcasm then good, that will explain it somewhat.

Still I strongly disagree with calling the taliban as freedom fighters against foreigners. Taliban ideology is itself foreign. Its escapism for a desperate population should not be admired rather lamented.

Lets take the worst case scenario

Lets say, as situation A, the infidels win, and USA imposes the US constitution in Afghanistan.
In contrast to situation B, the taliban win, impose wahabi sharia and mullah omar is amir-ul-momineen.

Would you like to live in situation A or B.

        My answer is A.

And if there is the slightest chance of B happening, than let your american friends/collegues know that a volunteer is available, will work for free.

        A is a 100times less threat to Pashtoon / pashto than B

I don't know if a few low ranking Taliban are local ordinary folks but top ranking Taliban are proxy for ISI look where the Quta Shora is ,why all Pakistanis on the net or media call Afghan taliban mujahideen and theirs Kafir ,why always
Hameed gul speak for afghan Taliban ,I would's loved it to support them as real afghan resistance movement but unfortunately they kill afghan for others intersts,so down with them.

It sounds like you, like the americans and the russians before them dont understand the pashtun culture. there is a saying in the west "Its easy to invade afghanistan, but it is hard to keep it." When the invaders come, they see poor afghans thinking it is easy to control, but once they start the disrescting and the killing and the raping. There is another saying beware the poison of a cobra and the vengence of the afghan. The pashtun must have their badal otherwise they cannot sleep and they can not call themselves Pashtun. You may think that the ISI is paying the ordinary talib fighters to bring instability to Afghanistan, but in reality they are only fighting to avenge their kin and thats it. That is the reason they fought the Russians and that is the reason they fought the British and every invader before them. The invader never seem to understand that, and I dont think you understand that either.

Jasminai khora, you are 100% correct when you say its because of the pashtunwali code of Badal. But I think you have to be a Pushtun to understand it 100%. When a wrong is done to a Paushtun, Ive always heard the paushtun say "walaka ee praig dum"

Khyaal saab, pashtoon pa dhwa anoo kharseegi nan saba.

You guys should stop with lofty pashtoon vitues. If stupidity is a virtue than yes we do rank amongst the best.

Americans and british know more about afghans than most afghans do. So their armies have code of civilian conduct and the taliban doesnt, that does not make the taliban superior. When push comes to shove, those codes will evaporate too, remember second world war. The world cannot tolerate radical Islam, it has to go, no ifs and or buts about that. A hundred million fully fed pashtoons cannot stop that from happening, let alone, a few thousand starving, displaced, irrational fools, whos only strength comes from self destruction.

Poor pashtoons are suffering, ghairath, izaath, namoos, have all long evaporated. We do excel in self destruction and yes the world has a difficulty in guaging the level we as humans can sink to.

For the price of one tomahawk missile I can get you 100+ afghans and pashtunkhwa pashtoons ready to die. For the price of 10 missiles they will each slaughter one family member themselves before joining my cause A for God B (without asking what A and B are).

If you are going to be posting your opinion, that is different but kindly read some articles that clearly show that many have joined the Taliban just to kick out foreigners.

There are local people, I have met them. These are children who's parent's have been shot dead and now all they want is Badal, ever heard of Badal? So before you get dumbfounded, it would be nice to look at things from a more broader scale.

Whether they call themselves Freedom fighters or not, one thing you need to agree with is thousands of local Pashtuns have picked up arms to kick out NATO forces.
Then they will attain shahadath like the fathers.

This exact sentiment is being exploited by taliban. And the local fools are buying it. We should help these tormented peaple suffering from PTSD to channel their energies in a positive nation building, rather than badal.

The talib na ba sook badal akhli, what about that sentiment. Zamoong hum weena khootkegi. What happened in swat recently, some took badal from talib.

Nato may have done many atrocities, but it gives us an oppurtunity to get out of this quagmire and at the same time get incorporated into a modern world. A few yateeman, fed up with life wanting to blow themselves up from cowardice to face life, are not heroes and are not helping any pashtoons. If they want to die, let them die. Those that want to live we should try to help them out instead.

Your ideas come from watching to much CNN. I would think the same way as you if that is all I watched. No wonder why the whole world laughs when they see ignorant Americans answer questions about geography and different cultures, its not there fault when their media is keeping them ignorant.

You dont know the reality on the ground of what is actually happening. If Americans knew so much about the afghans, then why do they have such a difficult time. You dont realize what a difficult job America has in Afghanistan. Many experts dont see America succeeding in Afghanistan. Like most invaders they underestimated the whole mission. They thought they Afghans succeeded because America helped them. We are seeing today that was not the case. When the russians invaded eastern Europe, the Americans helped them but there was no success.

You say this is the bahavior of a self destructive people, Well thats what the communist said about the capitalists, you could argue that the whole humanity is itself self destructive, but thats not my point. My point is, self destructive or not, this is what these people beleive and thats reality. Sure many people would agree that your fantasy is better but we live in reality.

                          Bayghum wrora,
It is very hard to change the pushtun culture. Let me tell you a story, a true story.

A girl was promised to a wealthy gangster who already had 2 wives by her father who was a herion addict. He took the money from the gangster and bought the drug with it. When the girls mom found out about the arrangement with her daughter and this gangster, she was shocked at what had happened and the girl started crying. The mom went over to the gangsters house and pleaded with him that her father is a herion addict, and is not of sane mind, he had not talked it over with the family. She cried and begged him not to do this to her daughter. He told her, if your daughter does not want to marry me and does not want to live with me, I would more than love to approve your request not to marry her, but I dont have that power, Everybody would give me pekhor and my brothers and cousins would not stand for it. I am sorry, Your husband came to me, I did not go to him. There is no way out of this for me or for her. The girls brother shot the gangster and they moved to Iran. The gangsters family are still looking for them.

My point is this culture can not be changed, You are walking in the clouds, I would like to welcome you to come to the ground and see what its like on the ground.

I have seen it changed, I have been involved in this murder saga and seen both sides of the coin. People are changing every minute. I am not talking from some high cloud, I am talking from ground in pakhtunkhwa, I know it is not afghansitan, but the pashtoon culture is the same.

If the government cannot protect its citizens than sooner or later the people will arrange and do it themselves, this is one reason for the taliban. And that is why the taliban kill village elders who try to do that not all are thugs. Unfortunately in the absense of modernity, our primitive responses are very ineffective.

Just a couple of years ago, a friend objected when a family member was seen with a young boy. He got the elders around and told them this is not acceptable. Told the family member to get lost. No police would take the case, called a human right activist friend for guidance and he said let it go. People thought he was furious because they had a land dispute which was not the case. Finally an uncle, a well educated elder came and said, why are you furious, the boys family is not concerned why are you. They are getting money and the boy will be OK, at least he is not going to be constipated.

If you are going to accept this kind of bull crap than no need for shouting mercy when daisy cutters are thrown at you. Some one has to take a stand, this is 21st century, such cannot be done anymore, not in the name of pashto, not in the name of Allah. At least say it is wrong, stop saying well the kid is not constipated.

[QUOTE=Maiwand;156958]This was indeed a real national army of Afghanistan, representing all segments of the Afghan society and defending the lives, interests, souls, properties and religion of the Afghan moslims, even those of muhajiroon (refugees) and mujahideen from other parts of the world. Inshallah soon this Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will return, much more stronger, independent, sovereign, mighty and will eventually liberate all the Islamic countries and establish one Islamic Khalifate.

oh really? You would want such people to govern afghanistan? these people are lead by ISI agents. they are uneducated, illiterate, simple minded pashtoons who are lead to believe they are fighting some infidels, when in turn these people are fighting to further the agenda of ISI and the West.

I have said it many times... politics is a dirty game. before siding with them think about their root, think about where they came from and where this group was formed... think about where they get their aid and support, think about what the real agenda of their leader is...when u find out about all of this then u will know whether u should side with them or not.

as far as i am concerned... to helllllllllll with every political group in afghanistan... from khalqi to parchami to mujahideen 7 khar group, to taliban to current karzai regime... afghanistan needs another "inqilaab" ... this time by young, educated, fresh minded afghan youth!
