  • Why is Bacha Khan buried in Jalalabad?

From what I know, in his wasiyat he said: Maa ghulama khawre ke khakh nekey.

Yaw dasae khalk waee che Bacha Khan khpl moranae wathan kae khpl hadeera ghukthala. Others say he wanted to be buried there and one day these areas would be united. Anyways I don't know too much about it, maybe Yousafzai Pakhtun can enlighten us. Either way Jalalabad or Peshawar or Charsadda zamung gerda yaw wathan dae. So if any place, Jalalabad is worthy of it.

I think Bacha khan may know best, why he wanted to be burried there. However, if you will see the miseries happened to him after the creation of Pakistan dishearted him too much. After this another reason which seems very much relevant keeping his future vision that as he is respected on both sides of Durandline in pashtuns (some may not respect him or his ideology, however a clear majority do), and he was born on eastern side of Duranline in hashanghar and he may want to be burried on the western side to have the balance. Now no one claim to which side of Durandline Bacha Khan belonged, and he showed his concerns towards the unity of pashtuns. It will help us much more for unification of pashtuns, as situition is pushing us towards it.
In conclusion Bacha Khan Mazar at wetsren side of Duranline is a symbol of pashtuns unification.

Another possibility may be that He lived in Shisham Bagh Jalalabad for long time after great miseries and tortures in Pakistan. May be this turned him to be burried there.

Khushal Khan Baba also willed his burial at a place where the dust of the Moghal cavalary could not reach his grave. He is buried off the main road, at a safe distance.

Bacha Khan did not want to be buried in a slave country. I think Jalalabad is the center of the Pakhtunland , and therefore merit tha eternal abode of this great apostle of Pakhtun nationalism.

The government of Afghanistan should announce that all Pashtuns/Afghans living any where in the world are the bona fide citizens of Afghanistan and can have the citizenship documents like National identity cards and Passports. The same is done by Israel for all the jews of the world.

Pakistan is a nation of sell outs but his reason for burying was that and because he wanted to see unity.
Ofcourse khoraee it is our own as Pashtunkhwa is yours. I would though, not generalize the pakistani people, just their state army intelligence and ideology which has been and is a clear dukhman of Pashtuns. In hindsight, Bacha Khan Baba was right in choosing Jalalabad....it is an important centre of Pashtuns.

such a decision (to announce all pashtoons as bonafide citizens of Afghanistan) is impossible for Afghanistan in the present scenario. I know it will imflamm more the situation. Such a decision can be taken at right time. Pakistan army and estalishment, is really really enemy of pakhtuns. Pakhtuns are very fond of money and can be purchased very nicely and easily, therefore the pashtuns who are getting benifits from pakistan are Pakistani till they are in job, and after retirement they turned nationalists.

However, I am really sorry for diverting the topic, I am extremely sorry.

erlangner, bls_v2 and Mahzala have explained it really well. I think you can sum it up as the following:

                  1) To show that the land of Pashtuns, whether divided by one border or ten, is one.

                  2) In hope of Pashtun reunification.

                  3) He didn't want to be buried in a slave country.

                  4) He didn't want to be buried in a land that was under the flag of the state that imprisoned him for most of his life.

                  5) To create unity between the Pashtuns on both sides of the Durrand divide.

"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

Ijaz saiba as of now it isn't possible to do it considering the situation of Afghanistan. Having said that....a Pashtunkhwa Pashtun can easily get a passport and citizenship from Afghanistan as well as ID card. Hec if the taliban government wanted the Pashtunkhwa people to get them, the new government won't have an issue. So let us walk the walk and apply for them ao ka tsenga?

Anyways this is diverting...lets stick to the topic.

Does anyone know if there is any info on Bacha Khan Baba's wasiyath?

This is all nonsense, and actually was his other brother`s step daughter. Daa zanae khabarae pa Bacha khan dagha pakistan elites karree dee walae che dae Pakistan jorraedo pur zidh wo. His brother married a woman whose daughter (from another marriage) married a non muslim non pashtun.

Yes the documentary was by a Canadian film maker...apparently its real good.

Khushal Brother, this thread is about why Bacha khan burried in jalalabad? You want to say anything about it, welcome, if you wanna start something else, then start another thread.

I heard also from many people, that Bacha Khan was hindu. I also heard from people, that he was saying in his last days, Mujhe jala do, and wali khan thought he is saying about his burial in jalalabad. I also heard that he took money from india against pakistan till last moment. I also heard that Bacha Khan worked the whole against muslims unity. I also heard that his daughter was married to hindu. I also heard that he killed his wife in baitulmuqaddas.

Many other things I heard about him, but from whom, never form a well educated person, always from the people whose own price is 5-10 rupees.

Even the most poisnous book written by Zia Shahid, Khan sahib haqaeq ye haen, and another poisnous book written by Maulana midrarullah (grand father of Major aamir) Bacha khan aur uske aaqaed, also have had no courage to mention such things. These books are available in each and every school college library of Khyber pakhtoonkhwa.

However, facts cannot be changed with such rumours and fake propaganda. Bacha Khan is great and will remain great. If he is called frontier gandhi, we should be proud of it. World accepted his philosophy and even the grandson of Gandhi said in a lecture after 9/11, lets follow Bacha Khan, whose way leads to peace.

                              Hello friends,

We in India have deepest respect for Bacha Khan and his ideas. In our history text books he is respectfully referred to as "Frontier Gandhi". In fact that is the highest compliment we can pay him. What I don't understand is why this is taken as a slur by most members here. Is it because of their contempt for Gandhi in particular or for Hindus in general.

                              Regards
