Pakhtuns are very fond of money and can be purchased very nicely and easily, therefore the pashtuns who are getting benifits from pakistan are Pakistani till they are in job, and after retirement they turned nationalists.

However, I am really sorry for diverting the topic, I am extremely sorry.
Prior to the russian invasion a citizen of pakistan showing dressed like a pashtoon and speaking pashtoo was never stopped on the border at torkam. Other required a card from the embassy. Those with tribal area papers could get afghan nationality by just showign that, if I am not incorrect.
the russians as well considered pakhtunkhwa as 'disputed territories' and any afghan scholarships available for afghans could also be availed by residents of disputed territories.

Maybe he wanted to have his grave secured by his communist allies who were about to take over Afghanistan and build his grave like the moseleum of Lenin in Red Square?

          Just a theory...i wouldn't know.

i went to pay respect to him in 2008. to be honest i didn't know much about him. my mother took us. it's so so sad the way he is buried there. it was a huge yard and then a dark room with his grave inside it. there was an old man who said that people always came with promises of building the place but then never showed up again.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

I would like to say here that bacha khan trust, which is running about 15 schools in different districts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, have planned the mouseleum at his mazar, accompanied with a research centre, a library, a masoque, a school and a hospital. It will be started soon. It is not allowed for every one to build anything. It is a planned project and will be done with plan.

I think it had a lot to do with how we was treated in Pakistan. Erlangner, BLS, LZ, Mahzala and many others beautifully elaborated on this. Him being buried in Afghanistan in my opinion represents unity. It shows that we are one people. Whether he is buried in Kabul, Jalalabad or Swat, Peshawar its the land of the Pashtuns whom ultimately are the same people.

I don't really care what a Punjabi, Tajik or Sindhi thinks of him all that matters is that he preached unity and he wanted to see lar aw bar unify under a common banner.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I met Teri McCluhan last year at the Abu Dhabi International film festival. Teri McCluhan, of course is a great Bacha Khan admirer and the woman behind the film Torch for Peace that has picked up lots of acclaim by Pashtoons and non-Pashtoons alike. Here is a woman who posed the question directly to the descendants of Bacha Khan and the one line in the film that speaks volumes is spoken by a female member of the Bacha Khan family. On his death bed, knowing that it would be difficult for his family to cross borders to tend to his grave when asked why he wanted to be buried in JalalAbad, Bacha Khan said to his daughters: "One day this will all be one."

                      InshAllah.

This has already been done. Pashtuns from the tribal areas (Central Pashtunkhwa) are given Qayaeli Cards which make them equal citizens of Afghanistan. If a Pashtun from Pashtunkhwa denounces his Pakistani nationality, he/she can legally claim the citizenship of Afghanistan.
