Come on people!. Think about it. Be smart. What is the single uniting factor between us and other non-Pashtuns? Islam. What else do we have in common? Not much, except territory.

Why not choose Khurasan as a name to shut up the fascists Tajik agitators. And simultaneously create a large federation of various regions. Then we can have a greater Pashtunkhwa with Pashto as its only Pashto language. And the Tajiks can have their language in their federally administrated region.

But the central federal authority remains in one single body that governs all different regions.

It makes sense. This is what they have in Europe. And it works perfectly for them.

So why not for us?

Federation and rights for all, I agree but not giving up the name of Afghanistan. Too many sacrifices too much blood. If they can impose this view now, when we have extended the citizenship of Afghan to everyone, then tomorrow they will ask for something else. This isn't a good precedent to set.

I agree though that they are our fellow citizens (btw I extend this to Hindkiyaan, kohistanis, wakhis, etc) not only in terms of them being sons of the soil, but also muslims. However, in Europe it doesn't even work this way. French was a minority language imposed on the rest of the state all in the name of the republic, same is the case with Spain (Spain and spanish is associated with Castillian), Russia, English also imposed on the others in UK, and so on. They have imposed it far worse than we have...if anything we have been better in those terms.

When you bring this up you are revealing your own ignorance. What do you think will happen when you change the name. What are the consquence and are the consqences good or bad. If you do change the name, the population would turn facist and ethnocentric. More people would die, be raped and tortured and your causeing all this death over a name on a map. Use your energy over something more usefull like building instead of destroying

how could you say there are 8 million pashtuns in the Afghanistan, 30% of the population. what you are telling me is that 70% of the population cant control this 30% when the whole world is behind the 70%, not only is the whole world behind the 70% but the whole world is fighting theor battle for the 70%. So with this logic you are telling me that 70% of the population must be too week or cowardly to control this 30%. you are naive my friend

Afghanistan is what it is and what it will always be.


if you think Afghanistan is an unfair name, why not consider the following:


1) The United (Federally Administered) States of Badakhshan-Badghes-Baghlan-Balkh-Bamiyan- Daykundi-Farah-Faryab-Ghazni-Ghor-Helmand-Herat-Jowzjan-Kabul-Kandahar-Kapisa-Khost-Kunar-Kunduz-Laghman-Logar-Nangrahar-Nimroz-Nuristan-Oruzgan-Paktia-Paktika-Panjshir-Parwan-Samangan-Sare Pol-Takhar-Wardak and Zabul-istan

or perhaps,

2) The Islamic Republic of Pashtun-Tajik-Hazara-Uzbek-Turkmen-Baloch-Nuristani-Pashayi-Aimak-Brahui-Pamiri-Kyrgyz-Gujjar-Jatt-Hindu-Sikh-Kurd-Wakhi-Urmari-land-with special considerations for the majority groups-Pashtun and Tajik- who's languages shall be the official ones of this great nation-that we call home-and inshAllah, we will have peace again- Ameen! -istan

that way no ethnicity is left out!

The population are already fascist and ethno-centric. This is why a neutral name such as Khurasan which is not tied to any ethnicity (ignore tajik fascists false claims) is better.

Afghanistan is not the land of Pashtuns. MOst Pashtuns have fled Afghanistan and are now living in Pakistan. The most dominant ethnic group in Afghanistan are the non-Pashtuns.

This is because we, as Pashtuns have ran Afghanistan only in name in recent history.

Afghan means Pashtun. And non-Pashtuns are likewise, ethnic non-Afghans.

So why should the country bare the name of one ethnic group? |Why not choose a name that is a representation of everyone who lives htere?

go to Afghanistan and take a trip by car south of Kabul. Tell me where all those Pashtuns are hiding? I don't see many people there. Even in Northern Afghanistan, Baghlans Pashtuns are all gone. The only ones who are still there, are the ones fighting Americans.

I have not declared war against Nationalists. Nationalists have declared war against Islam by allying themselves with American invaders and before that, with the Russians.

They have chosen Allah and his religion as their enemy.

This will not even come close to alleviating the problems of the various ethnic groups (even if we assume that a name change should happen)....rather it will spiral the country into a condition far worse. I don't see why you would want to adopt it.

Thats not true. You cannot predict future. And what you are saying is based on you assumptions and desires.

First of all, renaming Afghanistan into Khurasan is not only good for Pashtuns. But it also benefits other non-Pashtuns. Because when the country has a neutral name, then people inside Afghanistan can pursue their own happiness by developing their own respective region and lanuage and identity. We can have a Pashtun/Afghan part of Khurasan, and a Tajik/Aymaq/Uzbek part of Khurasan.

If people in the north wish to speak Farsi only, then so be it. They can even call their own region, Tajikistan. Who cares?

People worship names. They think that if Afghanistan is called Afghan then somehow this is a safeguard for Pashtun supremacy. Look ar your "afghan" government and army now. It is controled by America and staffed by 60% tajiks.

A name doesn't mean anything. It only causes confusion when it is tied to a certain ethnicity.

Personally, I never call my Tajik or other non-Pashtun friends and even some relatives Afghans. Because they are not. I wouldn't want to be called Uzbek or Punjabi. Because I am neither of those.

So why would anyone want to be considered as Afghan when they are not Afghans?

Why is it a problem for Pashtuns in Pashtunkhwa to accept their Pakistani ID's? I mean, if you are arguing that some non-Pashtuns have accepted Afghaniyat, then why cant you people accept Pakistniyat?
