Yes, Iran existed 1500 years ago and before that there were no Persians. Even the Magis who were responsible for the Fatimid Caliphs had no religious, cultural, philosophical ties to Persia. You are so very right. Abu Lu'lu'ah was a Kashmiri.

    Thank you for correcting me.
    Hyperbole at its best.

    The main point is:

Did Iran carve out Shiasm? No the didn't. Did Iran become Shiate, and adopted Shiasm only 6 centuries ago. Yes the did.

The etymology of words like Namus, Ghairat, Hujra though might show that they are Arabic in origin but it doesn't prove that even their concepts or practices are rooted in Arabic culture. Even in Sindh we see 'Karo-Kari'(honor killing) which is related to the same concept of Namus. One can't for sure say anything, this might be an indicater of the influence of Arabic on Pashto language as a result of Arabs' politico-cultural hegemony since Pashtuns mostly even abandoned their naming conventions and people had to keep names like Abu Muslim, Abu Hanifa, ibn this, ibn that, etc.

What makes you think that the current Pukhtoons, including you and your forefathers, aren't the very people that Islamized the region? How many of those poor souls that became victims of the Arabs political-cultural hegemony exist today? What if my forefather fell victim to the mujahideen of Mirwais and Ahmed Shah, or Amir Abdur Rehman. What do you suggest in that case? I guess we should label these men as Islamic terrorists, who forced Islam upon us. If you don't agree, why?

Let us also assume that these things are not Islamic in origin. Let us say that they are indeed indigenous to the Pukhtoon people, now can you tell me how you will fit them in a secular state? Baygham gave me a reply which I didn't bother to address because he proved my point. Under a secular state all of Pukhtoonwale, will be rendered useless. You will have to modify it, rearrange it, to fit it in accordance with secular laws. That means that Pukhto/Pukhtoonwale has to give up much of its concepts to accommodate a secular state. BECAUSE, Pukhto/Pukhtoonwale as it is practice today by the millions of Pukhtoons, to a secular atheist is illogical, irrational, primitive, tribalistic, and illiterate.

Goodbye nanawate, tor, badal, nang, namus, ghairat, melmestiya so on so forth.

Welcome case pending, court appeals, due process, lawyer fees, report filing etc. etc.
