"Real secularism comes by way of education. He left the vast majority of the land uneducated."

Again, you are wrong. You are making assumptions, that everyone will be the same after getting education. People who have had proper education, and can reason will always have a different perspective on issues. So you can't say, when people have education, they will straight away believe in Secularism. We are all different. Just look at China, Russia, Iran and North Korea, i am sure they have an educated bunch yet they all think way different than you.

For the sake of the argument, let's say, majority of people in Afghanistan are educated. Now that doesn't mean they will all be cool towards Secularism . Hope you understand my point

Of course, not. I have never maintained that.

However, they will fight to preserve a system which does not control their conscience. That is what secularism is. You can be a secularist and religious at the same time.

I concur, the taliban were not scholars, for if they were, they wouldn't have been so extreme. Education is crucial in shaping human behavior. It was all a lack of education, and Islam encourages education for everyone. This alone is evident enough that they were misled due to their ignorance and they paid a high price for it as well.

I think that in a society that mainly adheres to one religion, it would be nice to have someone of that religion running the system under a secular pretext. However, someone who is not of the religion of the adherents of the majority can still care for his people, under the pretexts of secularism.

That is possible and sounds good as well, but it is highly unlikely, that it might occur in Afghanistan at this point, knowing the current situation.

I absolutely agree with you. But that is the only proper fruit-yielding option.

That is why it will take a long time, our people need to unshackle themselves from being control at the mind.

Exactly! Religion came after society was established.

Islam has always been there, just because Islam hadn't reached them, doesn't mean it was not there.

What he was saying is that society came first then religion appeared not the other way around.

How is that? We only know of Islam from the 7th Century onwards.
