Well they didn't decide for being massacred or having bombs blow up near their homes and markets to get at two American soliders who just happened to be walking by, nor did they give a green light to murder Hazaras with impunity .
So yeah the Taliban are responsible, pretty much a no brainer there.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Yeah there was no consensus about the Taliban committing widespread crimes being approved by the people of Afghanistan. Nothing to reach here, this is stuff Taliban take credit for.

diverting from what? You don't control the parameters; just because you want so desperately for the "reaction" and "policy" argument to stick doesn't mean it lends any credence to the Taliban legitimacy. I didn't even "need to win" the taliban undid themselves.

In that case the cause is themselves since only the Taliban are responsible for their decisions.
there you go.

Can you provide the sources regarding the Taliban crimes you are referring to?Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostI expect that the bad policy angle is a red herring and has no bearing on the culpability of the Taliban since they were doing this stuff before the U.S. was involved.
there I go repeating myself again ....There's pretty much no away around the Taliban being responsible for their crimes and why they have no legitimacy."The past is not my concern. The future is no longer my concern either. One minute. One minute of everything at once. And anything before is nothing. Everything after nothing. Nothing in comparison to that one minute."

I want a reference for the crimes before 2001, before the US intervention, the onset of the current conflict which you keep referring to?
Also I do not believe anyone here including myself are claiming that the Taliban/Afghan insurgency have not committed crimes.
At the same time, to just throw out statements without having an understanding of why an insurgency exists in the first place is disingenuous.
Throughout history insurgencies have existed due to foreign intervention. This is/was true in Vietnam, Iraq, Chechnya, Syria, Afghanistan, etc. What more is there to explain here?
Islamic State commanders in Afghanistan have said that they will sanction joint attacks with the rival Taliban to target the Hazara Shia minority, which is
Also this article is false. The Taliban and ISIS never joined together to massacre Hazara Shias. Did you read your own link you posted?
In fact, one of the reasons Iran is backing the Taliban/Afghan insurgency is due to the ISIS threat against Shias. Iran sees Taliban as a counter force as does Russia now.

Exclusive: Iran Teams With Taliban to Fight Islamic State in Afghanistan – Foreign Policy
You asked what crimes they committed; if you're changing the goal post to prior to 2001, that is already covered within the links. If you're not challenging that they committed crimes, why did you need evidence for something you accept?
This is just repeating the statements we've already covered WITHIN THIS very thread. This is just PR Narrative, which is very flimsy. The Taliban are responsible for their own decisions, no one can MAKE the Taliban massacre people, they decided its worth the cost, alternatives exist which could have been more effective than what they chose to do. There's nothing that necessitates them to make such choices other than disregard for human life and anxiousness for power.
Why is the article false?
The foreign policy article is about Iran's interests; Iran treats Hazaras pretty poorly and exploits Hazaras for their proxy war in Syria; they probably don't care much about what Taliban do to Hazaras, so I doubt this would "contradict" this.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 10-29-2018, 01:17 AM.
