Anyways, Nawruz will live on as long as we call these type of people out on their absurdity ..

Khushalee can also be fornicating, consuming alcohol and going to strip clubs. So the argument that anything makes you happy is OK is not a legit argument.

And many other cultures do. It is a normal celebration for people who work on the land, as those celebrations related to weather were important in aricultural societies.
Arabs maybe didn't have it, because they live far more south, that is why maybe Islam doesn't mention it (correct me if am wrong)
        What is bad in it?
It is just starting the new year, a new season, it is a happy way to start your seasonal works, to concentrate your power on your fields, gardens, etc.

Iranian city population lost a bit the connection to the land, that is why the festival became more commercial in Iran. But doesn't mean it is bad to celebrate the start of the year.
Islam was not there to conform to Arabs norms and wishes.
For you to say Arabs didn't have it because they are living in that area is showing your ignorance about what Islam is and what Arab culture is. Islam came to demolish the arab practices.

There is nothing special about this celebration, it is based on pagan Iranian ignorance. We are talking about nowroz and not what you celebrate .

That's because Baloch are Muslims and not shiasm and this pagan practice is a Shia thing.

            That's not true
This pagan practice is not widespread among Pashtuns.
Well if you practice this pagan Iranian Shia practice than you are a Muslim who practices a pagan Iranian Shia practice.

No one here called Muslims pagans but I called out Muslims who practice and defend the Shia pagan practice.

It can also be enjoying nature....eating fruits ....and celebrating ....let's not compare IMMORALITY with normal, wholesome activities.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Calling something "Pagan" is not going to make your point stronger. Remember Tawaaf around Ka'abah was also done by Pagans of Makkah. Something Pagan can be redirected for non-Pagan purposes and something Non-Pagan can be made Pagan.

Shi'a are Muslims, they maybe errant but being errant doesn't automatically make you Pagan. So you're calling Muslims Pagans ......not what Islam teaches.

It is nice You want to blame everything on Shia or on Zartooshti, but you totally neglect, that thisfestival is neither pagan, or religious eventhough many want to claim it, it is a festivity of cultivation, and the humans interaction with nature. There are far more Sunni countries that celebrate Nawruz than Iran : Kazakhstan, Kyrghyzstan, Tajikstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Turkic Muslims of Russia, Lezgis of Russia, Uyghurs of China.
Non of them is neither Shia nor has been Shia.

This day neither praises any Shia saint, nor Zarathushtra, eventhough people try to connect it with one or other things.

I perfectly know that Islam fought those crazy Arab practices that may have existed before Islam , but it didn't fight whole Arab culture. It still exists and is particular, as any culture.

But in a hot climate without almost proper winters, there is no reason to celebrate Nowrooz, like there is no reason to use an umbrella inside a building, or use the heating during the summer. It is simple logic.

Your demonisation of the beginig of spring looks same way strange, as its mystification by those you name pagans.

This day has a very simple but deep meaning for those people who used to follow the weather to perform their agricultural practises.

All questions is, how you perform a celebration.
Such celebrations in older times were like community meeting in many areas.

That way any weather broadcasts are pagan, and the happiness of prediction of earthquakes and storms are pagan.

You know, You can celebrate the beginning of the spring and a new season to work and a new year to fill with your deeds or you can "sacrifice a horse under the statue of the goddess of the red nebula and do some mystic ritual orgy in her temple", meanings do exist not just terms under which you label people as pagans or not.

You have no idea about how the world is perceived by Islam.
Those you mentioned that celebrate it have neglected their religion of Islam.

Why are pushing this ? Are you suggesting we go against our prophet pbuh teachings and for your sake call this pagan practice in accordance with Islam?
                      NO
Just like we don't celebrate Christmas which has pagan roots as well why should we celebrate this?
After all Christmas is also about a natural phenomenon called winter solstice.

I think the reason you are so keen into pushing this is because you want to connect but this is all for the wrong reasons. There is nothing wrong with innocent celebration of arrival of spring but this nowroz is a pagan practice.

You do know that Kaaba was built by Abraham AS and he was also a Muslim. Tawaf around the Kaaba or the worship of Allah swt as a head diety by the pagan Arabs only show that Islam was there way before but they had corrupted it. That's why they claimed that the statues were some sort of mediators.

I'm not going to defend shias or their pagan practices.

But your argument is that it's a Pagan practice because Pagans used to do it. So Tawaaf is something Pagans used to do. So it was one of their practices. The point being, just because a certain type of people did something, doesn't automatically mean that's what it has to be about. There's got to be more than simply "Pagans did it at one time". It also has no consequence to Nawruz.

You don't need to defend Shi'a, but they're not Pagans...really radical preachers like to drum up these exaggerated portrayals of Shi'a, probably because they're on Saudi payroll somehow.
