Yep, Kandaharis celebrate Nowruz but so do people in Nangarhar, Logar, ....we call it Nawai Kal though.
    Brother
Don't lump us all into nowroz
Naway kaal or pasarley is not comparable to the Iranian paganism or jumping on fire, reading hairs instead of Qur'an, raising the stupid janda,or haft seen.

Naway kaal is limited to poetry and going out to parks.
    Full stop

      Dont be too dense!
Nowruz is just another word for Nawe wraz or nawe kal. And our Pashtun calender(I wish we were using it) also starts at the same time as Persian calender(21-23 march gregorian). So it is also technically our Nawe wraz.

Even if some Pashtuns dont celebrate it, they do it involuntary. They dont know but they do celebrate.
Btw our celebration is way different than 'Irani jumping fire'.

This proves my point, It's a Shia paganism.
Maybe Pashtuns in kurram do it out of love for Iran but how do you explain sunni Kurds, Tajiks celebrating Nowroz.
        Nope it's not.

              the iranian shia paganism again.

this nowroz is something celeberated and promoted by iran.
matter of fact its known as persian/iranian new year and is widely and religiously celeberated by Iranians. iranians dont actually celeberate eid as they celeberate nowroz.
it is also celeberated in kabul ,mazar , herat and some other cities which are under the influence of shiasm and iran.

when we lived in kabul it was celeberated as new year ,people would wear new clothes, go to parks and congratulate eachother on new year. haft mewa or seven fruits was the only thing. the creeping iranian influence back than was limited to mazar where they would raise the so called janda or cloth of Ali(ra) at the so called mazar of him.
Nowadays people who lack identity and want to attach themselves to Iran are taking it a step further in the direction of paganism. For example 7 seen is not something from Afghanistan, neither was this celebrated as religiously as these people do nowadays. Even though they Sunni Muslims but the Iranian influence on them is so much that they will do anti religious things like the janda and when you tell them otherwise they will act like Iranian sock puppet screaming wahabi(Iranian code word for sunnis).

It is not celebrated as such in eastern Afghanistan and I doubt in any other areas apart from the ones mentioned.
In Pashtun cities like jalalabad , Kandahar etc it is celebrated with poetry and going put and having family fun.
Jenda is not Iranian practice...no one in Iran does that... Nawroz has turn into Shia practice for Iran is Marjah e Taqleed for Shia.
Nawroz has changed in Kabul due to coming back of Shia/Hazara refugees from Iran...i never remember any Kabuli celebrated Char Shambi Sori but now a days they do.

For the very first time Azmal jaan.. well said. You are finally making some smart and valid points.

Charshembesuri is a new tradition brought to us from Iran that is true. People didnt really jump over fire few decades ago. But I guess its due to the rise of Tajik nationalism and Hazaras coming back from Iran. Now people take this kind of things more seriously. They take it too far in my opinion.

Still its a cool tradition. When I was younger I used to attend Iranian parties it was great. There was koobideh, fire, people jumping over fire, and alcohol.. too much alcohol. There was brawls and fights all the time lol

The spring festival is celebrated in many cultures in the northern hemisphere.
We , ARmenians celebrate i as Amanor and Vahagni tsnund,
Lezgis celebrate it as Yaran Suvar (Mountain festival)
And many other cultures do. It is a normal celebration for people who work on the land, as those celebrations related to weather were important in aricultural societies.
Arabs maybe didn't have it, because they live far more south, that is why maybe Islam doesn't mention it (correct me if am wrong)
                      What is bad in it?
It is just starting the new year, a new season, it is a happy way to start your seasonal works, to concentrate your power on your fields, gardens, etc.

Iranian city population lost a bit the connection to the land, that is why the festival became more commercial in Iran. But doesn't mean it is bad to celebrate the start of the year.

I have been to Sistan and Baluchistan last Nowruz. And yes they celebrated it allong with refugies from Afghanistan. But not in the same way as Persians. Some maybe do not celebrate, some do. Depending on the views. Some got angry while a persian assumed "You don't celebrate Nowruz". Baluch are mostly just a bit more conservative.

also what's up with calling other Muslims pagans?

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."
