    As Salaamu alaykum,

    A major political event is occurring and there is very little activity on Pashtunforums. That needs to change.

    Let’s make an effort and post all useful information about the Pashtun Long March in this thread!

    Admins, can you make this sticky?

      They stage a gunbattle with suspected terrorists and criminals in an urban area. Now imagine which violation against humanity they would do or did in Fata where not a single journalist was allowed to report during Zarb Azab or visiting the area.
      This demonstration should have taken place long before but it's never too late. I'm not sure about it's efficieny because the medias sweep it under the carpet kinda nord korea style.

        Does anyone know if someone else except ANP-wallahs and Imran Khan mentioned it? I mean any Punjabi, Muhajir or Sindhi?

          Thanks for starting this. Made it stuck.
          Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

          A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

          For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

          The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                  One positive side-effect of the killing of Naqeeb Mehsud(Rahimahullah) is that it brought all the Pashtuns(particularly in Pakistan) on one page to fight for their rights. I hope that we can keep this up and effect long-term change.

                      Nothing will change

                      we lost this battle.

                      I respect ToughPashtun and some of these fellows, but sadly Pashtuns have lost their battle and will never win. The System doesn't want Pashtuns to succeed, or have then turn into gul khans and see the anp wallahs as traitors.

                        Afghanistan is on their side too. The killing was all over Afghan social media, and Afghan news agencies are covering it more than Pakistani media. For example:

                        د پاکستان لومړي وزیر له لاریون کوونکو غوښتي و، چې د مذاکرانو مېز ته کېني، خو د لاریون تنظیموونکو د حکومت وړاندیز رد کړی او د حقونو تر ترلاسه کېدو یې د لاریونونو پر دوام ټینګار کړی دی.
                        پاکستان کې د پښتنو د مظلومیت غږ تر ګواښونو ورسېده

                        the key demands of the protestors are:

                        Swift justice for Naqeebullah Mehsud as well as arresting and punishing the police officer who allegedly kidnapped and killed him;

                        Remove all the landmines from Waziristan and the rest of the tribal belt;

                        Produce all the so-called “missing persons,” who have allegedly been taken into custody by the state security agencies;

                        Remove the security check posts, where tribesmen have to prove their identity each time they enter their villages and towns;

                        And put an end to frequent curfews on the movement of locals in the name of security.

                        President also urged the media outlets to help Pashtuns to show their demands to the world.

                        “I call on media to impartially fulfill their duties and help Pashtun Long March in voicing their grievances and demands and presenting their true image to the world,” he said.

                        Commenting on Pashtun Long March in Islamabad and peaceful protests on the other side of the so-called Durand Line, Khpalwak said people have to gear up their individual and collective efforts for prevailing peace and an end to war.

                        “Afghans on both sides of Durand Line are victims of terrorism,” Khpalwak displayed a message on his official Twitter account.
                        Afghanistan stands behind Pashtuns in Pakistan - Afghanistan TimesAfghanistan Times

                        A civil society activist and Peshawar-based journalist, Farooq Firaq, remarked the Pakhtuns had awakened after a long time to seek their rights. The protest in Islamabad had inspired the Pakhtuns, he believed.

                        “Many political parties or so-called Pakhtun nationalist groups have been left behind by the ongoing demonstrations. The nationalists, pretending to be serving Pakhtuns, but are in fact working for intelligence agencies,” he alleged.

                        According to him, Asfandyar Wali Khan, leader of the Awami National Party, on which Pakhtuns count a lot, addressed the protest on the fifth day and after stringent criticism.
                        Islamabad protest sparked by oppression of Pakhtuns: Khattak | Pajhwok Afghan News

                        The silence from non-Pashtun Pakistanis is deafening. Compare the coverage given to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik protests last year, or the current protests in Mardan over the Mashal Khan case, or just about any other protest in Pakistan, big or small. They all get tons of coverage by Pakistani media. Now compare those to this protest. I can't find a single article on Dawn mentioning it. The Pakistani subreddit, that loves to spam articles on every single protest in Pakistan, has no posts relating to the protest other than the NY Times article (which immediately downplayed by Hindkowans and Punjabis, who then did the same thing on the Pashtun subreddit). Even Pakistani media itself recognized the curious lack of coverage:

                        A sit-in by the Pashtun community in front of Islamabad Press Club against the murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud and alleged state oppression has entered its third day. Despite electronic media’s blackout of the protest, social media is abuzz with posts expressing solidarity with the protesters. Twitter users have condemned the mainstream media for ignoring what they called a ‘peaceful resistance’.

                        This should show that Pakistan, even after 70 years, is not a country for Pashtuns. It may hurt to admit this, but the sooner everyone does, the sooner everyone can move on and figure out a better future for themselves.

                          Sound quality is pretty bad, but here's a nice speech given by Mahmood Khan Achakzai at the protest.

                          Here's a speech by Imran Khan, but it's in Urdu so I can't understand. Can anyone give the gist of what he's saying?

                            Imran Khan organized huge protests when the Army ordered him to against Nawaz Sharif over N Sharif plan to create free trade cooperation between Afghanistan-Pakistan-India which would benefit the common people of the region but he cares not for commoners.

                            Imran Khan is a tool.

                              after the start of this protest, missing person photos were sticked to the walls, now almost 71 missing pashtun mostly from tribal areas have returned to their homes. as release of missing person is on the list, someone is taking the heat obviously..
                              some local and foreign elements that is hurting this cause.
                              zandeeq jummati dogs, they came out more bitter, they only want tribal people to chants slogans against india and fight for kashmir, not for their rights.
                              ANP wala leftist secular liberal and afghanistan lover chanting slogan like lar o bar yo afghan here will do no good to our cause but we give the government an opportunity to come harsh and declare them foreign sponsored.
                              Indian media they are already giving news, like pashtun are marching on capital and want independence from pakistan.
