  • Pashtunistan/Loy Afghanistan vs Loyalism to Pakistan ? Reasons for and against.

    Synopsis:

So it's here. We see many political debates. Conversatives vs democrats, Pakistani politicians, and ofcourse, the debates we see on Youtube between Christian,
Muslim and Atheist apologetics, often throwing dirt at eachother back and forth. Jesus is god or son of god? Allah is one or three? Did god create
man or was it evolution. Did god guide evolition ??? sure, i can see similiarities to outline my frustations.

So i am unsure any heated debate like this has happened before. Probably lots on social media. I am being unbiased and not supporting either side. I formulated a
hypothetical scenario of a gul marjan (pro-loy afghanistan or pashtunistan pashtun) debating a gul khan (a pakistani loyalist pashtun). Ofcourse, more options
can be present (Greater India, Greater Iran, anti-pashtunistan afghans) , but we'll keep it like this. Go through and make comments. Are these sentiments based on
    faith?

    Side: Gul Marjan

Reasons for Pashtunistan and seperating from Pakistan.

    1. Pashtuns being oppressed by Punjab province of Pakistan
    2. Pashtuns being oppressed by the nothern alliance (non-Pashtun AFG)
    3. Claims that Pashtuns having a lower social status in Pakistan. Lack of education, many Pashtuns
picking up menial or low class jobs in Pakistan compared to other ethnic groups . This has a counter argument.
Refer to point 7 on Gul Khan's side.
    4. Militiary explotation by Islamists, Pakistan militiary and the West in Pakistani Pashtun and Afghan areas. Caused
mass exoduce of Pashtuns. Claims that the media wont document this fact.
    5. The decline of Pashto language and culture. Pashtun culture isn't considered Desi but Central Asian , and desi culture
like spicy foods and urdu words added to the Pashto language and urdu names replacing Pashto names for kids. Cultural
assimilation of Pashtuns or cultural/linguistic death.
    6. Pashtuns have no connection with Indians/Pakistanis both racially and linguistically.
    7. to decrease of Islamic extremism and religious radicilization of Pashtuns.
    8. Pashtuns have a 5000 year old history. Pakistan is only 70 years old.
    9. Mixing of Pashtuns with Punjabis leads to cultural decline of Pashtuns. (though the same can be said with Afghan
    Pashtuns integrated with Dari-speaking Afghans).
    10. Nordic looking minority of Pashtuns would decline. Due to dominant and reccessive genes, such traits would be lost
when mixing with outsiders. However it is accepted generally that most Pashtuns aren't nordic to begin with.
maybe fairer but not nordic. See Gul Khans point 19.
    11. Stopping the genocide of Pashtuns due to militiary operations.
    12. The Punjabi, Mohajirs and Sindhis look down on Pashtuns.
    13. Promoting Secularism.
    14. West of the indus river is not Indian subcontinent, but the Iranian plateu ( Pashtuns and Baloch not considered indian
    or pakistani).
    15. Society of Pashtuns and Baloch structured much differently (as being nomadic cultures), in contrast to the
sedentary lifestlyes of Punjabis, Mohajirs and Sindhis.
    16. Pashtuns and Baloch can live together due to similar cultures in contrast to the indic mohajir/sindhi/punjabis.
    17. Afghanistan has never been conqured. Therefore it makes Pashtunistan invincable. See Gul khan's point 22.
    18. Promotion of Pashtun culture.
    19. Preventing non-Pashtuns from stealing Pashtun culture and history.
    20. Being a mountanous land, can mean full control of mineral reserves.
    21. Fertile lands of the greater Peshawar arae belongs to Pashtunistan because the majority of the people are Pashtuns at the present time.
    22. Peshawar Served as the capital of the durrani empire.
    23. The Islamic values pushed in Pashtun lands is very extreme, rigid and brutal.
    24. Pashtuns being killed by Punjabis, Tajik/hazaras and other pashtuns and using the Taliban or islamism as a cover up.
    25. Racial profiling of Pashtuns for being called a terrorist or Jihadi . Similar to Islamophobia in the west.
    26. Why are most Jihadis Pashtun? Why don't ethnic Punjabis make up a sizable portion of islamic extremists in Pakistan if Pakistan was made in the islam.
Punjabi/mohajir pakistanis only make up a larger portion of pakistani terrorism done outside of Pakistan, but not inside.
    27. A nation-state only worksout when people recognize others as the same culture as them. Islamic unity is nigh. We got the ummah.
    28. Pakistan is biased because it uses islam as a basis. Pashtunistan accepts those of any religion.
    29. The 100 year durrand line treaty ( see point 25 of Gul Khan to debunk this).
    30. Pakistan is religiously bias, valuing islam over humanity ( gul khan rebukes this in point 27.)
    31. Pakistani education and media not teaching Paki Pashtuns their proper history. Covering up history about Pashtuns and just telling them propaganda
(Bin Qasim was the first pakistani etc. etc.)
    32. Gul Marjans " You are not Indian !!! i explained how Pashtuns are NOT South Asian, but Iranian/Central Asian" (rebuttal to Gul Khan's point 28.)
    33. Yes, many Gul Marjans and Afghan nationalist had pledged alliance with India. However this is an issue of power struggle,
(getting support). Not all gul marjans are pro-indian and can be anti-indian along with being anti-pakistani. (Rebuttal to Gul Khan's point 29).
    34. Pakistan inciting Pashtuns to dislike hindus and non-muslims.
    35. Sure, some Pashtuns had high status, but in terms of a pro-pakistani political stance, no pashtun ever held it. Imran Khan can't speak Pashto ,
    neither did ayub khan.
    36. Foreigners will think Pashtuns and Punjabis are the same. If a Pashtun tells an outsider he's Pakistani, the outsider will automatically think the Pashtun
is a Punjabi, let alone, desi or indian/pakistani. (see Gul Khans rebuke on point 31.)
    37. The word Pathan is misleading and unnacceptable. It divides Afghan Pashtuns from Pakistani Pashtuns as outsiders will think Pathans are seperate from
Pashtuns. Only acceptable of used by Afghans as much as Pakistani side. However this isn't possible because the "th" in Pathan can't be pronounced
by Afghans. The exhasperated T is only pronouncable in urdu, punjabi or the indo-aryan languages.
    38. Hadiths are wrong, i dont believe in islam (refutation to gul khans point 32).
    39. Class structure does exist in Afghan/Pashtun/Baloch society. However the margins are much narrower. The is worse in the punjabi/sindhi/mohajir society where
there exists a deep feudalism with a much larger gap between classes.
    40. The durrand line is cutting through a river basin.
    41. Pastun nationalists promote women's rights.
    42. Because Afghan refugees are our people. KPK and FATA and Bolan (balochistan) is afghanistan. It's their land ! they are not refugees. We are one people
ISI and USA and Jihadis and the Taliban caused these redugees after the soviets got hosed (refuting gul khan's point 35) .
    43. I don't like to eat dal.
    44.
    45.

    Side: Gul Khan

Reasons against Pashtunistan and sticking with Pakistan.

    1. Many Inter-tribal and clan conflicts among Pashtuns. Hating a Pashtuns of the rival tribe. There may be a slight
logical reason for Pashtuns to side with non-Pashtuns over a Pashtun on this basis.
    2. The famous Ghilzai vs Abdali feud.
    3. A long history Badal (Revenge or honor killings).
    4. Economic stagnation due to being Landlocked without the Balochistan coast
    5. If the Balochistan coast was annexed , it may result in the subjucation of the Baloch
(similar to how Pashtun nationalists claim subjugation of the Punjab province.) This may have a counter argument.
    6. The fertile lands of KPK were originally Hindko majority as late as the 1980's. These lands include Peshawar, Mardan
Swabi and many lands. The Dilazak and Swati Pashtuns migrated in the 7th century. Yusufzais and others came in the
16th century pushing out the Dilazaks. In ethnic terms, Pakistan has a legimate claim over the dense populated parts of
KPK in the basis of historical population.
    7. Pakistani Pashtuns have a high social status in Pakistan. This contradicts point 3. in gul khans side. This point
is actually true, but perhaps only to a porition of the Pashtun population. It is true that in the 1970's, a
portion of Pashtuns have increased in terms of social status like higher education and quality of life as an attempt
to have them integrated. The poorer Pashtuns maybe a recent phenomena due to militiary operations. So it
may be that there would be a class divide within Pashtuns in Pakistan. Rich Pashtuns being pro-Pakistani while
poor pashtuns being denied from expressing, let alone, learning on how to make their opinions.
    8. Class divide was already in Pashtuns in just Afghanistan. See the case between Ghilzais vs Abdalis. Ghilzais were
poor and Abdalis had high social status, same trend that's possible with Pakistani Pashtuns.
    9. Pakistan was made in the name of Islam. Nationalism (Assabiyyah) is haram.
    10. Opponents to Pashtunistan have existed long before Pakistan existed. Read about Pashtuns disagreeing with
Pashtunistan and siding with the Mughals . Written by Khushal Khan Khattak roughly 400 years ago. Hence Gul Khans
are far older than you think.
    11. Mehsud Pashtuns captured half of Jammu and Kashmir in the name of "PAKISTAN" once Pakistan declared
intependence. Why ? If Mehsuds knew about Pashtunistan, they wouldn't even have done this. Even today,
mehsuds are integrated into Pakistani society.
    12. Many of the Abdali Pashtuns and other high status pashtuns in AFghanistan became persianized.
    13. Pashtuns are the considered Desi, Brown or of Indian/Pakistani culture regardless of being considered
central asian or iranian . Countering Gul Marjans claim that Pashtuns were not.
    14. No proof Pashtuns are 5000 years old. Pashtuns logically originated in 7th century according to islamic legend (Qais
Abdur Rashid) so 1400 years old . Oldest Pashto language attestiation is as late as 15th century (written by pir roshan).
    15. The landscape of Pashtuns (and Baloch) is bad. Bad for agriculture, leading to further stagnation. May
be landlocked, but stagnation would persist even if the Balochistan coast was aquired. However, the Kabul-Jalalabad
corrider and Peshawar regions have fertile lands to support agrarian activity. However youd have to argue about Pakistan's
claims to such lands as they were previously Hindko/Punjabi speaking.
    16. Pakistan (or even India) could also claim the Kabul-Jalalabad region on the basis of historical popuations.
indic speaking peoples may have been present in these areas until it got islamitized by mahmud of ghaznavi. However
these populations were islamitized a long time ago (like the 9th or 11th century) so it's a weak claim. The fertile lands
of KPK aren't as it's a more recent trend.
    17. Very mountainous terrain. Difficult to traverse.
    18. Nomadic Pashtuns and Baloch won't progress as a fully nomadic nation . A shift or reliance to sedentary culture
is important. Tajiks, Uzbeks,Hazaras may end up pulling the weight.
    19. Most Pashtuns are not nordic to begin with. Insists they look like Indian/Pakistani people, not as strangers.
    20. There is no such thing as a pure culture or language. Everyone is mixed, Pashtuns arne't pure themselves.
    21. There are indo-aryans as nomadic as Pashtuns such as the Gujjars. Not all indo-aryans are sedentary.
    22. Afghan or Pashtun lands have been conqured or is conqurable
    23. Promotion of Islam and Islamic values.
    24. Pakistan is a multi-ethnic nation and it works out. Canada, United States, Switzerland and United Kingdom have multiple ethnic groups (within their
white population, and also non-whites) and have been succesful nations so it can workout. Pashtuns/Balochis and Punjabis/Mohahjirs can live side by side in harmony.
Maybe Islam unites them. See point 27 or gul marjan.
    25. Durrand line doesnt exist. It's fraud and there's no expiration date.
    26. Rahman Khan signed the durrand line. Amanullah Khan made the border permanent (a new point called the Aman Line).
    27. Pashtun nationalists are being racist. Valueing their ethnicity over being a human being. We are all humans.
    28. Gul Khan : "I was never Afghan. You can say i was Indian before Pakistan was made, so i dont consider myself Indian the same way i dont call myself Afghan".
(Gul Marjan rebukes this many times, go to point gul marjans 31. Some gul marjans deny pashtuns as indian, depending on the context)
    29. Gul Marjans love India and suck up to Hindus. They are working with the Afghan snake and the Kafir nation of india to divide Pakistan.
    30. The Awami national Party are failures and did not contribute to anything.
    31. No! So what, foreigners are ignorant. Let them think anything. They think all muslims are arabs. we think japanese and chinese are the same. So what if
they think i am the same culture as a punjabi. We're all ignorant. (refuting gul marjans point 37)
    32. Pashtuns should remain with Pakistan according to islamic estachology (the end times). This is supported by hadiths about imam mahdi, the bani israel,
black flags of khorasan . Greater Pakistna, Ghazwa-e-hind, the revival of the caliphate. Zaid hamid had been an avid supporter of this
philosophy ( gul marjan refutes this in point 38).
    33. Women's rights is against Pashtunwali
    34. Pashtunwali is lost when you live a sedentary lifestyle
    35. Pakistan has housed Afghan refugees, why do afghans hate us so much (Gul Marjan get's irrated by this claim alot , see point 42 of Gul Marjan).
    We hosted your people
    36. PAshtuns have a higher status in Pakistan than Afghanistan (once again, i adressed the issue of social status in Pashtuns. So maybe a portion of Pashtuns
are high class or well to do [ as the integegration attempts in 1970's] , and i also explained another portion are low class and doing menial jobs. But in certain times,
Pakistani Pashtuns had a higher status. Gul Marjans can scapegoat Pakistan for ruining their country).
    37. My best friends are punjabis and they love me.
    38.
    3..
    4..
    ...
    ......

and this can go on and on... sure, a few points here are biased, but i tried to keep this as unbiased as i could. Laying down the facts between Pakistani Loyalist
and Pakistani Seperatist Pashtuns. Make comments as you wish. Add your thoughts. How is this analysis.

if jaws can have their Israel, why cant we Pashtuns have our own Pashtunistan ?

we need to unite Whole KPK, FATA, Balochistan with Afghanistan.

and expel Non Pashtuns from Afghanistan. balochis are already becoming minority as we we are Migrating there is large numbers. later large number of Kashmiri, Punjabi and Sindhi Pashtuns will also Migrate back to our Ancestral land and we will repopulate i with near 100% Pure Pashtun Race.

a bigger Pashtunistan should be our Goal, why ? because we are pakhtoons.

Keep dreaming about a Pashtunistan. This seems to be a futile exercise of expatriate educated Pashtuns indulging their imaginations online. On the actual ground no one talks about a Pashtunistan. The current borders, including the Durand line, are a reality.

Any viable state needs a strong idea behind it. Balkanizing into tiny ethnic states only keeps the people of those states behind and weak. Someone mentioned the example of Israel. Israel isn't merely an ethnic state, it has a powerful idea behind it, and it is truly a nation. Even among Jews there are Ashkenazim, Sephardim, Mizrahi, and very ethnically and culturally diverse. Yet they are a strong nation because they have an ideological state and they come from a European background for the most part which is politically and economically mature. Kurds, Baloch, Kashmiris and other ethnic groups seem to think they can replicate the success of Israel by creating a Kurdistan, Azad Baluchistan, Kashmir, etc. But they are simply deluding themselves. The Muslim world has three or four states which seem to be the most viable economically, i.e., Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. For the Pashtuns, the choice seems to be either Iran or Pakistan. I don't even think Afghanistan can ever have stability. Afghanistan is simply not material for being a viable State and cannot keep up in the 21st century. If you guys are concerned with economic development and a future either join Pakistan or Iran.

All of our ethnic groups are too small and insignificant to ever be great. Our particular ethnic identities simply cannot compete with the powerful civilizations which dominate the world, i.e., Western/European and East Asian/Chinese. You can be proud of your Pashto language, your Pashtun cuisine, a few of your classical kings, etc. But your civilization is nothing compared to Western/European civilization, in terms of the advancements they have made and introduced to the world, political, educational, scientific. Our people are among the least educated in the whole world.

Islam is the only potential we have to be great. Even non-Muslims know this. They know that if we revert to our obscure ethnic identities we are no threat and become ripe for the taking. If you don't identify with the broader Islamic project but think of yourself as a Pashtun, for example, first and foremost, you are just a blip on the radar. You are nothing special. You have narrowed your horizons severely.

Some of the points mentioned by both sides are trivial. The main argument for a Pashtun state would be the preservation of Pashtun identity which includes Pashtunwali, language and history etc. This is not possible if Pashtuns carry on the way they are doing. Pashtuns are sandwiched by two powerful civilizations (Indic and Persian) and we don't have the numbers or the resources to stop getting assimilated into these two cultural spheres unless there is some form of protectionism implememented i.e Loy Afghanistan/Pashtunistan. It is true that culture, language evolves which is natural but there is a difference between evolution and systematic extermination. Right now, Pashto language is in a dire state and we do not produce anything scientific, religious or philosophical material in Pashto. The more than 40 years of war in Afghanistan and the negligence of traitor politicians have dealt us such a huge blow that it seems impossible to recover from this.
In Pakistan the rise of PTI and Pakistani nationalism has dealt a significant blow to Pashtun nationalist parties like ANP. One can argue that the currenf ANP is corrupt and hasn'f done much for Pashtun so PTI although not a Pashtun nationalist party is overall better for the Pashtuns of Pakistan and Pakistan overall. PTI's main concern ie to end corruption, focus on a blend of islamic Pakistani nationalism and identity. Loyalty to Pakistan rather than your own ethnic group is encouraged and thus any effort to focus on Pashtun identity is seen as a threat to unity. It is extremely hard to promote and advance Pashto language when there is no funding or incentive to learn Pashto.

My personal preference would be an EU style union between Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.

We can name it the United State of Islam.

Provinces should be based on ethnic identity but there should be no restrictions on movement of people or trade.

The pashtun areas of Afghanistan can be called Pakhtunkhwa/Pashtunistan/Afghanistan. The rest of Afghanistan can be called Khorasan. Pakistan is already split into provinces so they can keep their names.

Urdu will be removed as the national language so regional languages can flourish. Punjabis can have punjabi as their national language, Baloch can have theirs and Sindhis their own. This will ensure there will be no incentive for people to seperate as everyone will be comfortable with their own identities and will have control over their resources.

Pashtunistan is not very popular in KPK, of all iranic groups pashtuns are not very nationalistic, persians, kurds and baloch are all very nationalistic people, pashtuns are more Islamic centric, especially with the popularity of tableegh jamaat which was promoted by Isi to kill pashtun nationalism which has worked well for them.

We Punjabi Muslims don't want Punjabi as our national language. Punjabi is not our language. Even during the British colonial days, our people chose Urdu as our language in the census, while Hindu Punjabis selected Hindi, only Sikhs considered Punjabi as their language. The reason is because Urdu is the national language of Muslims in the Indian subcontinent, most of our religious literature is written in Urdu, our great saints and Ulama spoke and wrote in Urdu. There isn't a single important religious text that has been written in Punjabi/Shahmukhi. We still like our language, and like to hear Punjabi devotionals and speak Punjabi in informal settings, but we are not that attached to that language and don't want it as our language. This is especially true of our educated, urban class.

Dividing provinces along linguistic lines has its practical advantage, but identities based on language and ethnicity should be discouraged by the central government policy. The education system is critical here in fostering a more pan-Islamic identity and outlook and downplaying people's diverse but obscure ethnic, racial and linguistic differences. Urdu, Persian or Arabic are the best candidates for a lingua franca or national language the learning of which is mandated by a public education system.

I definitely think it is advantageous to amalgamate Pakistan, Afghanistan and Tajikistan into a single state, but it will only be possible if it is strongly based on Islamic identity and narrative, otherwise such a project is impossible, especially given the fierce resistance it will incur from regional powers like India, Russia and perhaps even China.

I don't want to unite with Pakistan, dude. That kind of regional unity is far from reality and facts. Right now the Islamic world is going through an ideologic war similar to the the European "WWI". Since seems this current war won't bring enough and good changes, we should expect a new regional war within few years where some sort of Islamic universal system will raise as the "ultimate system" for the Islamic world (just like liberal democracy emerged as the universal system in the Western world after WWII).

All this Pashtunistan MB is a lost cause. Even if Pashtuns manage to create a Pashtun state, it will be landlocked, no resources and with no real purpose. Pashtuns would be forced to rely on their Indic and Persian neighbors. Back to square one. Pashtuns should encourage their identity in Afghanistan and Pakistan but in general is safe to say that Pashtun culture will decline even further. Pashtuns lack of "soft power", thats why even many Pashtuns are willing to give up easily on their language and culture for the sake of "more advanced" cultures.
"For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

I agree with you about everything except the removal of Urdu. Surely there needs to be a common language.
Urdu itself traces back to Ghaznavid Dari, i.e Language of the Lashkar where Dari was the most commonly spoken language. It most probably started off as an Iranic language before being influenced by indo-aryan dialects, but it is very Afghan (Ghazni) in origin imo.

If you want a Pashtunistan, then why are you adding Baluchistan?

don't know if troll or serious.

you think non-Pashtuns will just move out of their lands?

The thing is with Pashtuns (afghans) it is actually the other way around. Their identity and culture is being stolen from them. Non Pastun people degrade their language by calling it a language that has originated from Old Persian. Non Afghan people in Afghanistan proudly wear Pashtun dress and jewellery and call it 'their' culture. Non Pashto (Afghani) songs are sung with pashto music. Attanr dance is performed on non Afghani songs by non Pashtun people, who can't even pronounce the word attanr properly, in Afghanistan.
Don't you think it's time we strip the non Afghan Afghanistanis of 'Afghan' identity? So that our culture and language will flourish without all these hatemongers and identity theives desperately clinging to it. hmmmm? After this i don't think the ungrateful theives would ever dare call us Afghans and our Afghani language 'weak'.

Well Pakistan doesn't want to unite with identity theives like you too. Infact, Pakistan wants you to take your Taw-jerk (tajik) kinsmen from Pakistan who, eventhough have accepted a more advanced language (Pashto) and culture (Pashtun) and hate being called Persians, but due to their hatemongering and backstabbing-ness (special traits found in every unwelcomed jerk) are not tolerated in Pakistan.
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.

and the last one isn't even viable but a military oligarchy so there's that.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Yeah thank you for stressing the obvious, you f*cktard lol

Non Pashtuns don't care about Pashto. Its true that most of them look down on it and they consider it a lesser/inferior tribal language with no glory, no history. Persian is attached to great minds, great empires and great achievements while Pashto can't compite with that. Thats why even many Pashtuns living in urban areas prefer Persian over Pashto.

The rest of your comment is pure BS and its not worth to be replied. Please behave like a civilized human being and not like a tribal animal. We are not in Pashtunistan lol
