Govt report proposes merger of Fata with KP

“But we are against this idea because if a referendum is held over the political future of Fata then there could be similar demands for the Hazara Division in KP, southern Punjab [and] Karachi; so this may open a Pandora’s Box,” said Lt Gen Baloch.
This is a valid point, and I'm not open to letting any of the Hazara get their own province. There's no need to jump the gun.
If FATA can be merged, and the Hazara region can be controlled so that they don't start getting foolish ideas of separating, it may work. Otherwise there's nothing urgent about this.Last edited by Elite Pakhtun; 12-09-2016, 08:00 PM.

Hazard province made up of what? Haripur, abbotabad and 2/3 of manshera, hardly a provinceOriginally posted by Elite Pakhtun View Post“But we are against this idea because if a referendum is held over the political future of Fata then there could be similar demands for the Hazara Division in KP, southern Punjab [and] Karachi; so this may open a Pandora’s Box,” said Lt Gen Baloch.

They may decide to join Punjab... which would be worse.Originally posted by Kakar-Wardak View PostHazard province made up of what? Haripur, abbotabad and 2/3 of manshera, hardly a province
I know a lot of people that have something in Abbotabad which they go to in the summer. Imagine it was in Punjab? You know those disgusting punjust multiply like a virus and would just cover the entire landscape with their black skin and ****ty language.

Hindko people are punjabies anyway, it only makes sense for them to merge with other punjabies.Originally posted by Elite Pakhtun View PostThey may decide to join Punjab... which would be worse.

But what about the people that have things in, for example, Abbotabad? If they merge with punjabis, it becomes a punjabi pandoras box. Right now it's a nice vacation spot for the summer.Originally posted by Kakar-Wardak View PostHindko people are punjabies anyway, it only makes sense for them to merge with other punjabies.
It's not that punjabi either. Every sentence is not "behn chowd". They're a bit different. They also look a bit different. I'd rather they don't get this. Plus I don't want their province to expand.

I must say Hindko people of Hazara are similar to Potoharis of Punjab and Paharis of Kashmir.......Haripur, Abbotabad and Mansehra (with exception of Ogi) should have been part of Punjab. The so called Hindko speaking Pathans of Hazara, are indistinguishable from other Hindki clans like Dhunds, Kharral, Gujjars etc. In a TV interview Gohar Ayub got infuriated when interviewer told him that his father Ayub Khan has described himself as a Tarin Pathan in his book. Gohar Ayub stressed on the point that he is just a 'Hazarewal'......Two of the Hindko districts are named after Sikh invaders, Hari Singh and Man Singh. Thats not a Pashtun characteristic.Originally posted by Elite Pakhtun View PostThey may decide to join Punjab... which would be worse.

On the other Pashto enclaves are in Hazara are 180 degrees opposite to Hindko villages...take the example of Pashto speaking village in Haripur by name of Srikot. Its Mashwani inhabitants are totally different from rest of the people of Haripur. They speak and do Pashto and are very brave and ghairatmand, and have typical Pashtun temperament.......Mashwanis were the only people in Haripur who opposed Tahreek Suba Hazara and did not allow the arrival of baba-i-hazara and PML_Q leaders to the village.....
Even their politics is on Patten of Punjab, its pro-establishment. The Hindko belt is overwhelmingly supporter of Nawaz Shareef....and before 1947, they were the ones who were overwhelmingly voting for Jinnah's Muslim league in NWFP from the very beginning.....Last edited by Samandri; 12-10-2016, 06:14 AM.

It would be a shame if the tribal areas merged with Kpk. Of course, there are proposed benefits of a merger but whether they will benefit the population we are yet to see. However I do believe there will most definately be a huge dilution of tribal culture if this did happen. Tribal areas, with all their faults are a very unique and peculiar corner of the world- and one can almost argue that that is what brought all the trouble there in the first place.

Tribal culture should be banished . Majority of the traditions are not compatible with rest of the country . Honour killings , Lack of education , Tunnel Thinking , Poverty , Medieval traditions are some of the fruits of Tribal culture that have nothing to do with 21st century . They need to be assimilated with rest of the country to end this misery .Originally posted by Charsi Malang View PostIt would be a shame if the tribal areas merged with Kpk.
