You don't understand Pashto; since like AFB, you're a Pashtun wannabe, so it'd be useless.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

LOL. Anglo-saxon? The English themselves are mixed with French, Dutch, Germans, Swedes, Danes and other Germanic/European groups. Nobody uses 'Anglo-Saxon' anymore. It's like the word 'Aryan'.. irrelevant and non-existent.Originally posted by Aryana View PostMy Aboriginal neighbour down the road is now Anglo-Saxon. Thanks mate.

Get over it, baiyan: Persian is the culture of art, civilization, poetry and culture. Pashto is the language of suicide bombers, drug dealers and terrorists. Dont even compare.

These nationalists nuts fail to understand that every ethnic group in the world is mix of several others. We "Tajiks" are Bactrians, Soghdians, Parthians, Persians and Turkic people. Pashtuns are a mix of Aryans, Turks and Dravidian people.. and so on. What make us different is our cultures and language. Ethnicity is not that important.Originally posted by Porus View PostLOL. Not every Persian is sophisticated and nor every single Pashtun is a dirty terrorist. Never said that. If I did, my apologize.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostAs if every Persian is some sophisticated intellectual and there aren't Pashtun poets.
lol
BUT! Persian culture beats Pashtun culture in almost every field: literature, poetry, architecture, science, medicine, empires, carpets, cuisine, cinema, music, sports.. and so on. This is something harsh to accept for many Pashtuns but its the bitter truth. You will never find an Ibn Sina, Al Razi, Biruni, Khwarezmi, Juzjani, Faryabi,.. in Pashtun history. You will never find famous Islamic scholars such as Tirmidhi, Bukhari, Tabari or Ghazali in Pashtun history. You will never find educated families such as Barmakids or Samanians in Pashtun history. A thousand year ago, Persian cities such as Bukhara, Samarkand, Panjkent, Balkh, Herat, Tus, Neyshabur,.. were the most developed, advanced and cultured place sin the world. Pashtuns back then were cavemen, roaming around Soleiman Mountains and assaulting traders and travelers (a millennium has passed since then and Pashtuns have not changed),.. Yeah you had some poets and warriors, but can they be compared to Mawlan, Khayyam, Saadi, Rudaki, Ferdowsi, Hafez or Jami? Can your warriors be compared to Abu Muslim Khorasani, Cyrus the great, Spitamenes, Surena, Darius or Shapur? Can your empires be compared with Sassanids, Parthians, Achaemenids, Samanians, Ghorids and many others? NO.
You are a smart guy. You should know the difference between both cultures and which one should dominate Afghanistan. Think about it, buddy.Last edited by Firdousi; 06-12-2016, 06:39 PM."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

That's tough to say; because you'd have to break it down further, were the Persian Intellectuals all urban? did they even flow with the mainstream Persian culture? Did Persians co-opt people of The Iranian Plateau who made contributions as being "Persians?"
This requires more than some butt-hurt poster on a Pashtun forum's analysis.
But your statement suggests that Persians are defined one way and Pashtuns another. It failed to examine the nuances of each society.

Poha/pooya--knowledge or searching and it is even common with old Persian. check it out.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostNowhere in the Avestan language is Pohand a reference to knowledge. In Pashto Pohand means Learned man or someone with knowledge. It comes from root word Poha, which MAY originate from the Avestan words "vispa" which means "Total" or "comprehensive" or "hvpah" which means skillful.
Here's the Avestan dictionary; no where is Pohan referenced.
Avestan Dictionary
Pederastic poetry was common through out central Asia, among Pashtuns, Farsiwan and Uzbeks. It's nothing exclusive to them.

On Contrary Pashtuns have no Turks or Dravidian.Originally posted by Firdousi View PostThese nationalists nuts fail to understand that every ethnic group in the world is mix of several others. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pashtuns
The haplogroup R1a (Y-DNA) is found at a frequency of 51.02% among the Pashtun people. Paragroup Q-M242 (xMEH2, xM378) (of Haplogroup Q-M242 (Y-DNA)) was found at 16.3% in Pashtuns.[77] Haplogroup Q-M242 is also found at a frequency of 18% in Pashtuns in the Afghan capital of Kabul.[78]
According to a 2012 study:"MDS and Barrier analysis have identified a significant affinity between Pashtun, Tajik, North Indian, and West Indian populations, creating an Afghan-Indian population structure that excludes the Hazaras, Uzbeks, and the South Indian Dravidian speakers. In addition, gene flow to Afghanistan from India marked by Indian lineages, L-M20, H-M69, and R2a-M124, also seems to mostly involve Pashtuns and Tajiks. This genetic affinity and gene flow suggests interactions that could have existed since at least the establishment of the region's first civilizations at the Indus Valley and the Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex."The abstract states:"our results that all current Afghans largely share a heritage derived from a common unstructured ancestral population that could have emerged during the Neolithic revolution and the formation of the first farming communities. Our results also indicate that inter-Afghan differentiation started during the Bronze Age, probably driven by the formation of the first civilizations in the region."[79]
However, there is a clear genetic difference amongst Pashtuns and Persian speakers of Afghanistan in terms of inverse J2a/R1a frequencies
J-M172 is found at moderate frequencies among Central Asian people such as Uyghurs, Uzbeks, Turkmens, Tajiks, Kazakhs, and Yaghnobis. According to the genetic study in Northeast China by Shou et al. (2010), a notable high frequency of J-M172 is observed particularly in Uyghurs 34% and Uzbeks 30.4% in East Turkestan, China. J*-M304, which is the genetic marker to define Paragroup J-P209, is also found among Xibo, Kazakh, Dongxiang and Uzbek people in Northwest China. This study also displays how far lineage J2 reached eastward, and it is also noted that the estimated age of J2-M172 in this region seems more ancient than the history of Islam.
