  • [Video] Pakistani soldiers insulting Pashtun culture in a vulgar way

    From Muhammad Zubair on facebook

So, this is some army post somewhere in the mountains of Waziristan. Three Punjabi soldiers are playing a little drama. One of the soldiers is wearing a female dress - called 'Gaarn Khut' in local vernacular and worn by married women of our Mahsud/Wazir tribes. The other two soldiers - fully dressed in uniforms and carrying weapons - first discovers a Waziristani 'terrorist' woman from a cave and then on 'thoroughly' frisking her, recover rocket propelled grenade from her possession. She is then made to dance to a hot Punjabi song!

Now this video is extremely offensive - no two opinions about it. It invokes the most hard, debase and ugly feelings amongst us - not the finest ones! But let us not be carried away by the feelings that it stirs amongst us. Let us do some academic analysis of what it means, what it symbolizes, what the actors in it want to convey. Is it merely an expression of the cheapest humor (the sense of which very unfortunately most appeals to Punjabi mind - as expressed through their media) or is it in itself a reaction to some very deep psychological hurt (that our Pashtun forefathers may have inflicted upon them in the past). What is it? Can someone help us do some psychoanalysis of these actors and their acts? What the rocket propelled grenade represent? What does the soldiers' physical frisking of the tribal woman mean (is it the expression of their unfulfilled desires or is it merely painting of our women as terrorists or possible suicide bombers)? What does it mean to ask the possible women terrorist to dance? Is it a form of punishment, it is the satisfaction of their manly lust, is it the expression of superiority, or is it the expression of extreme contempt? Please someone explain this to us.

Hahahahhaha hilarious. Anyway seem like we watched different videos because not only soldiers are pathans but also kid singing in pashto and they are speaking pashto. In either case I wouldn't have problem even if they were punjabis.

And stop living in 17th century Durrani empire, yes Afghans ruled Punjab for brief point but get over it dude. Most people don't even know it, let alone centuries old event playing any role. Afghans have some phycological problems who believe punjabi is taking revenge for Durrani empire. While in reality Abdali is considered hero by average punjabi educated in Pakistani schools.

Such a cheap video deserves a cheap response. Take into account the Porkistani Poonjabi culture (whenever I say Porkistani, I never refer to Pashtuns) and the situation will make more sense. In Pashtun culture, women are treated as flowers that should be protected, and it is beghairat (I'm sure you can agree) to "sell" your woman, or do cheap things with other women. In addition to this, take into account the inferiority of the Poonjabi. Poonjabi Porkistanis have never had a culture of their own, in fact nothing of their own. Due to this severe inferiority complex that is possessed by these cheap Porkistanis, it is normal to vent their frustration in a cowardly, beghairat manner, like what was shown in the video.

I have seen clips of Waziristanis getting kicked in the butts by faujis during rashan distribution in bannu......but this is first of its kind, waziristanis are in rage over this video. The fauji is grabbing the breast area of the one playing the role of a Wazir or Mehsud woman,....and on gun point, they force him (playing the role of Pashtun woman) to do mujra.

This was not some fun video, it was deliberately made and shared by faujis on facebook......the intention is to insult and provoke pashtuns of Waziristan. This is one of cheap idea of taking revenge from Waziristan.

Are you sure the point of the video was to make fun of pashtun women, or make fun of terrorists hiding in women's clothing? I am not really sure??

Being a punjabi myself, I don't support making fun of a certain ethnic people or their women. I find that sad and disgusting, but for some reason I feel like they are trying to make fun of taliban fighters that hide behind women clothing to escape an assault or fight.

I get an infraction from Shapur for "insulting other ethnicities" yet this guy can go on about how Afghans are very insecure people.

That's not true; I've never engaged in any violent activities in my life and I find it offensive.

                            This is very unislamic character.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Well to be fair that's not exactly an "insult". That's an behavioral observation.
