  • Afghan forces retake northern district from Taliban

The Afghan national security forces have retaken control of Darqad district in northeastern Takhar province of Afghanistan three months after it fell to Taliban control. Operations to retake Darqad district was launched by the Afghan national security forces on Friday.
Ministry of Interior (MoI) spokesman Sediq Sediqi said at least 20 Taliban militants have been killed during the operations so far.
Sediqi further added that numerous Taliban militants were also arrested by the national security forces as clearing operations firmly continue in parts of Darqad district.
This comes as the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Saturday least 17 Taliban militants have been killed so far as several parts of Darqad has been cleared since the opertion was launched on Friday.
MoI further added that the Taliban group’s shadow district governor for Khwajah Bahauddin was also among those killed during the operations.
Takhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in northeastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are actively operating in a number of its remote districts.
Takhar is surrounded by two relatively volatile provinces, Badakhshan in the east and Kunduz in the west where Taliban militants are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities in their various districts.

Wasn´t army but personal local troops in army and civilian clothes belonging to local networks. The new governeur of Takhar, Dr. Zia is a man from battlefield with experiences in secret service, defense ministry and interior ministry.

In few days the governeur of Kondoz Dr. Danishyar is going to announce its operation against the Taliban who fled the city fighting in the outland and isolated villages. He already warned Ghani if he does not take action and allows the security organs to deal with Taliban he himself will do the job with locals and some networks. Men of Aqsha Reza and Mir Alam are already fighting days and nights all over Konduz

Sound like ethnic war, in that case Pakistan will have to intervene.

Please Paki Dal-Khur, shut up! What do you think Taliban are? Human Right activists? Aren´t Taliban the intervention of ****istan/Piggystan in Afghanstan? If Pakistan would care about Pashtuns or anyone in Afghanistan why don´t they intervene when ISIS or Taliban kill civilians, bomb schools, poison schools, destroy hospitals or attack banks?

If it would be about supporting a party or side with whom one share common things, the Panjabis would unite with India. In regard to Afghanistan, it´s really ironical that Panjabis, if we believe your words, side with Pashtuns, people with whom they do not have anything in common. Ironically, the common things the Panjabis have with Afghanistan are bounded on Tajiks and Hazaras. Culturally and linguistically, Panjabis are closer to Tajiks and Hazaras due their common history on ruling India and being subdued people of Central Asians. The Pashtuns of Pakhtunkhwa are unrelated culturally with all their neighbours. At least the Afghanistan Pashtuns are culturally forced to become close to non-Pashtuns, except for some provinces (Khost, Paktika, Zabul, Kunar). If Pakistan sides with Pashtuns why 90% or 95% of the victims are Pashtuns on both sides? Who forced 200 000 civilians out of their homes pushing them toward Afghanistan or to Karachi living there a life of made low caste people without civil rights?

Paki-Dalkhur, before calling other people ''gandu'', remember who or what your ancestors were, whom they were serving and praising and to whom they have to obey even these days. It´s ironical that a Paki with the name ''Jogian'' (Jaghu) is calling other people Gandu hahahaha

Punjabis have little understanding of Afghanistan, its Pakistani Pashtuns in military establishment who wont let go of Afghanistan , influence and shape the opinions of Punjabis, push for intervention and consider it their right to do so.

                      Z Kabul,

Ignore this fetid lamp of daal.

I have a few questions for you.

1- How capable do you think the local irregular armed groups/warlords are in north in dealing with the Talibs?

2- How would you evaluate Dostum's foray's into some provinces in north? In my view it has achieved next to nothing except emboldening talibs, in essence was counterproductive. Back to my previous question, I doubt these forces can match the ANSF in fighting capabilities when it comes to confronting talibs. I doubt you could fight talibs who are fighting a non-pecuniary and ideological war with a bunch of ill-disciplined warlords who fights for spoil and lust for a bacha.

3- Mir Alam and co have been time and again defeated by talibs fair and square. Around 300 of his men hands down and pathetically surrendered to Talibs around the bala i hesar area when the captured kondoz.

4- Mir Alam is also a sworn enemy of Hizb in Kondoz,to my knowledge the current Kondoz governor is Juma Khan Hamdard's close ally, Jamiat's main rival in north in addition to Dostum. what is your take on this?

5- Why is Ghani not allowing operations against talibs wherever they might be?

6- Last but not least, how do look at the recent contacts between talibs and Russia good old friend of certain factions?

Please plea to your friends on my behalf to not show any mercy to Talibs.

I hate posting from my phone. Btw, do you also think that Ghani is in no uncertain terms a Talib himself. If you do then, it at least helps me put things in my own perspective rather better.

In the internal conflict all parties allied with a country to access resources. Talibs with Pakistan, NA even worse with Russia and Iran. While talibs used to go on sachs of daal whereas NA used to get Russian made protein bars delivered straight to Panjsher. So they can't cry foul.

Seems Paki daal does better job than anything Russia can produce at the end. Or it might be something inherent about Talibs?

That's nonsense. NA cant fight, most of the fighting on their behalf is done by Americans. While it is no secrete about American military presence, no one has produced any paki military on Afghan soil. The fighting is done by Afghans themselves. You guys labeling the Afghan insurgents as Paki is a Tajik propaganda tactic to fool morons like yourself into accepting Tajik and Hazara domination. While your making money off of the occupation, your people are dying by that said tactic that you support and spread.
