You have a very narrow definition of dawah. Besides, you ignore the fact that prominent Muslim scholars of Egypt rejected Islamists like Ikhwanis and Salafis. Shaykh Ahmed Naqeeb and Mustafa al Adawi both refuted Ikhwanis and Salafis and labeled their democratic Islamism as baatil.
You can't just ignore all the criticism against them and just stick to Ikhwani propaganda by stating extremist leftists were against them.
And let me remind you, Mursi claimed he can achieve something which is not possible: bringing back Sharia through ballot box.
Once he was in office he said Hijab is not from Sharia and he his party said we are not going to ban bars and brothels. Many Egyptians felt deceived.
He also borrowed money from Western banks for which he agreed to pay ridiculously high interest which is usury on massive scale.
I can go on and on mentioning everything he did.
I don't understand why Islamists can always get a free pass no matter what they do. As long as they claim they are Islamists, people just accept anything without any criticism.
