America is a country gouverned by different people with conflicting beliefs and interests. Different interest groups want different things. They all shape and form the American foreign policy. This is why the American agenda cannot be deciphered.

People who believe a country with all its complexity can pursue one specific agenda are obviously not suitable to comment on politics. If Karzai still beliefs he should know what 'America' wants it means he probably learned nothing and politically he is still a layman and ignorant.

Here in this article through highlighting local socio-political dynamics the author explains why Kondoz was vulnerable. I personally also second the view and unless issue of equitable representation of all social groups are addressed we will continue to have problems. In fact most civil wars have their micro dynamics. If the ongoing war in Kondoz contains its local element (which of course does) then Afghan government is well advised that it doesn't let the experience of the last 13 years repeat itself. It should try to deal with it in sane way.

It is therefore in the benefit of every one to work for harmony and peace at the local level in Kondoz, and preventing a small scale problem without allying itself with a a much bigger national level problem (It already has but it can be ameliorated). That is that if a a certain group is denied their rights and feel victimized, it is only natural that to counteract they will resort any possible mean. Taliban (dogs of hell/Paki proxies) are the ones who will be taking advantage here.

What ever is promoted by the gov at the specific time. Today you have the Afghan gov promoting the agenda of calling every insurgent a paki just like pakis are labeling their own insurgents RAW and NDS agents while ignoring their own failures of not providing to the people and stealing from them their rights.
If those conflicts did not exist, they would be promoting some other agenda. Every country has commentators whether they are at war or at peace. You dont need war to have a job as a politician or commentator.

The people in the Afghan gov have no grass roots support, they bribe warlords to back them and as long as those warlords are paid, they will have support although illegitimate. The US is not going to fund this structure forever which is why it is inevitable for the afghan gov to fall.

American foreign policy is centered around dominating Eurasia. The Soviet Union was the last obstacle to that goal. If the Church in America did not support Israel, the Middle East would have been stable with just soft power and the US would have ensured that since its economy is dependent on cheap oil from the region. America itself is forced to use hard power since the people of the region have conflict with Israel.

Its main goal in Afghanistan was to create a dependent client gov in conflict with Pakistan. This is the policy of all hegemonic powers to keep client states dependent on them by keeping them in conflict with their neighbors. The Taliban were complete opposite of that. During the initial rise of the Taliban during the 90's, US policy makers were under the impression that they could influence the Taliban through Pakistani pressure similarly to what Ghani mistakenly was thinking.
Karzai mistakenly thinks that the US would side with it over Pakistan. He thinks this because since Pakistan is regarded as the hub of terrorism and the Bush administration was painting him as the champion against terrorists. He was blinded to see the big picture when he was showered with flowers by the Bush administration. Pakistan is too important for the hegemony because it is vital to keep the people of South Asia and Central Asia from cooperating on trade agreements boosting its economic output and diffusing its dependence on the hegemonic power.

He knew very well it would lead to generation long grudges. But it's only through division and wedge politics that someone can rule Afghanistan which is by its own nature fragmented.
The problem with persiofascists is that they dont want to be a part of humanity. The reality is that the people of the region ie tajik, uzbek, turkmen, hazara, pashtun dont agree with your version of how society should look at one another. Muslims look at each other as brothers as you can see that the Taliban that took Kunduz and other districts in neighboring provinces are mostly non pashtun.

“I am Hazara myself,” one Taliban commander involved in the capture of Kunduz, Mohammadullah Sadat, said by telephone, identifying himself as a member of a group that has traditionally known terrible persecution at the hands of Pashtuns. “We are all fighting side by side under one banner, which is Islam. We are struggling for Islam not for any particular ethnic group.”
Even the Turkmens, one of Afghanistan’s smallest and most isolated ethnic groups, began joining the Taliban in substantial numbers this year in four provinces across the north. It was a decision made largely because they were dissatisfied with their marginal representation in government, said Allah Nazar Turkmen, a member of Parliament.
Indeed, the local expression for joining the Taliban —“he went to the mountains” — hints at an act of protest, removing oneself from the government’s world.
Over the past few years, faith in the government and the warlords who were allied with the government, never strong, has rapidly diminished. Militias and Afghan Local Police forces installed by the American Special Forces were largely unaccountable. They extorted protection money from farmers, and committed rapes and robberies. But because they had guns and the backing of local strongmen close to the government, people’s complaints were ignored.

The non Pashtun fighters are mainly militants from central Asia, they lived in the tribal areas of Pakistan before being dislodged in the recent operations.

A few Tajik-Uzbek-Hazara commanders in the Taliban doesn't make the movement any less Pashtun supremacist than before. Just like how the existence of people like Karzai and Ghani doesn't mean all Pashtuns are pro America.

Obviously Taliban have committed crimes in several ways like looting, killing and hawking for people and maybe some prisoners they freed have committed some cruel things (raping) in revange but the stories about the supposedly ethnic killing or rapes that have occured are mostly fantasy. Most government workers in Kondoz are Pashtuns and the Taliban fought their war in mostly Pashtun dominated region of the city. How ridicolous one can be to say the Taliban have committed crimes against Uzbeks and Tajiks and those Turkmen pockets? Right now there is a huge political civil movement against the Taliban and this movement is shameless enough to use images of victims from Irak and Syrian war and even some images from Iran. You will understand their agenda if you look for those used pictures by searching for them on Google. I also believe that this short take over of Kondoz by Taliban was indeed a treason from within the city by some Taliban supporters, circles and Pashtunists like the previous governeur Omar Safi who fled the country just days after and before the Taliban attack (he moved to Tajikistan). This guy always promoted ethnic hatred in Kondoz between Pashtuns and non-Pashtuns trying to make Pashtuns looking like Jews being oppressed by Tajik city holders and Turkmen valley fighters. What worries me most is the effect of facebook propaganda against Taliban and their supposed cruelty in Kondoz. It will have an impact on the aftermath and the days after Taliban clean-up from the region. What will happen to Pashtuns after these days? How many houses will be looted, how many women will be really raped by local forces and people by taking revenge? Already people started taking up arms in several provinces of the north and some are going to move to Kondoz from Kabul, Baghlan or Badakhshan and Balkh. The shadow governeur of Kondoz, Mir Alam Khan, is going to mobilize 12 000 savage local forces, militias and allies. When Dostom moved to Faryab province to mobilize his militia they looted and raped Pashtun villages. Radio Azadi Afghanistan reported about their complains in Kabul. Many about those incidents you get on Fahim Wardak´s facebook page

Despite the fact that Kondoz was the only northern Pashtun dominated province previous 2001 I must reject this claim for these days. Many hundred thousand Pashtuns were displaced in the last 8 -10 years. Kondoz is political and cultural, ethnical dominated by non-Pashtuns, mostly from Jamiat. Kunduz province became a Tajik hub and with its new governeur Danishi and the half-Pashtun Yasin Zia as governeur of Takhar they want to monopolize northern Afghanistan. This is a clear sign of war preparation.

not according to the artcle. The fact that they are taking over Tajik and uzbek districts is evidence that people are sick of your persiofascist pedophile warlords which the article talks about.

Taliban taking over non Pashtun districts in the periphery is a result of a strong insurgency and weak, stretched out security forces.

But you draw the wrong conclusion. If Tajiks, Uzbeks, Hazaras are sick of their warlords, then there should be open rebellion against them, which we haven't seen.

However, each ethnic group hates the warlord of other ethnic groups, and this division is is being exploited by Taliban, of course.

Its not me that comes to that conclusion, it is the article. You have what we call confirmation bias. You refuse to believe reality because you have a distorted view of humanity. Its just like in the 90's. Your pedophile warlords werent backed by their people which is why they fled so quickly as the taliban advanced. The difference today is that those same pedophile warlords are protected by US forces just like the article claims.

Two points that need to be resolved:

                            - <<Tajik and Uzbek persiofascist pedophile warlords>> do not have boys but some of their commanders and those who have do not own Tajik or Uzbek boys. People do not have any reason to go against them. They are the large part of ANA, ANP, Commandos, Air Force, the volunteers, peace keepers in several regions...

                            - Taliban could take over Kondoz because some people from the security apparatus, local government (Safi) and from within the Presidential Palace (Atmar) have paved them this success. When the security forces were ready to respond within one day and start their counter-attacks, Ghani and Atmar have not allowed them to operate to ''save civilian lives''. The same Taliban Ghani was freeing from Kandahar and Bagram jail have killed dozen of Pashtuns. You make out of this a pseudo ethnic issue of it. The only troops that could fought freely from any command of Kabul were troops sent from Balkh. Instead supporting Taliban you should be worried now about what is going to happen in the next days. People now calling openly for war

The horror of the 90s is going to start now ...

The Massouds, Dostums and Mazaris were loved by their people. They were a voice for the ethnic groups, who were blocked from politics by the Pashtun ruling class. This is hard for you to swallow, that Pashtuns discriminated other people for centuries. Taliban advances are due to other factors.

I don't personally like any of these figures, but they are symptoms of a country that failed to integrate its own people.
