Whether he is alive or dead, the insurgency is bigger than him. How many peace deals have the TTP signed with paksitan and how many peacxe deals did the muj factions sign and how did those peace deals end up.
so how do you explain after supposed peace talks fruitful and the next day taliban soldiers standing in line to see their mystery man. Mansour will say just relax dudess your mystery man died some 2 yeras ago. dudes saying what?? you saying peace process have the blessing of Mullah omar. we don't accept it's not legitimate.

it's not the Afghan government but Taliban leadership leaked it to Afghan government in peace talks. and it was not in Taliban interest anymore to hide his death.
Taliban are already worried about factions and members diverting to IS and the key reason is the absence of their leader.
Mullah akhtar Mansoor support peace process they were saying peace process have the blessing of Mullah omar but we know it has the blessing of ISI. how is peace process legitimate in the eyes of mainstream taliban when the supposed leader who were incharge of every decision is already dead some 2 years ago and some one is making decisions on his behalf who is not a leader.
Mansoor’s credibility is already in question over his continued silence over the death of his supreme leader and putting out false statements on his behalf, (mis)leading the fighters to believe that not only was their leader alive and supervising their “holy war against foreign occupation forces”, but was also endorsing the Islamabad-sponsored peace talks.

Mansoor has political support but its the boots on the ground which give the movement legitimacy. Talks were probably cancelled to reconcile this difference and to bring the Qatar office and the travelling salesman Talibs on the same page.

Then again, I am just going off of all the articles we have all read, just my take.
i guess both parties have their leadership as well as political support. their were obvious reasons Qatari taliban were meeting iran.
Mansour have the support of Pakistan other were trying to get support of Iran. my guess

Here you go again… another five knuckles shuffle in order to hide the fact Omar had died in Pakistan under protection/watch of ISI. How what NDS thought or work could hide this simple fact? How is that any different than “bring foreigners” as you put it in regards to grandson of Haji Mahri Jan—Karzoo? Oh wait Punjabis are not really foreigners but your sister and auntie hubbies so it’s all good.

Says the guy who bragged about being "Zikria" only to do some diarrhea "tar tar tar" as they say -across the screen when he realized the lineage to that tardbait was through Telai actually having his way with a Lahori/Panjabi slave (per his own reference! nonetheless).

Your question makes no dam-n sense:

What does this garbled crap even translate to?

Are you trying to allege that bringing a field army that has, even according to Bowe Bergdahl, run over Afghan children on the outskirts of Kabul itself with UTTER impugnity, and kicked down the doors of simple Afghans and shoot their pregnant wives in Gardez (refer to Scahill's well documented findings) is somehow in your warped world similar to taking money and guns and a backward operating base from the same backer of every group from Mojadidi to Yunus Khalis to Mossoud to even giving your butt buddy Zahir Shah who met his Rome group mud bath butt buddies like Sattar Siraat there? So it was good enough for Karzai and Zahir and even some of your tajikaam groups - yet somehow you equate openly cutting deals for a field army occupation force with that?

Are you phenomenally stupid or just "simple jack" level trisomy 21?

Before the US interfered, Taliban controlled Afghanistan had gum drop forest with meadows of bright colored flowers, rainbows planted in the sky and green lush trees as far as thy eye could see. Children played in new playgrounds while Omar applauded and laughed, often heard singing to them in a high pitched key...... Give me a break mule; the occupation happen because of refusal of your gang to hand over an Arab…thus the paki dog gang you are cheering for is responsible for occupation! The question is valid one…how is Pakis/Arabs are that were riding Afghanistan, committing suicide booming, burning fields, raping girls(oh yea since it happen to the people you didn’t like it is all good—doesn’t matter if they are human or even muslim—you see you are truly a Pakistani mother****er monafeeq—true to your Herimandi culture and value!) or the simple fact Mullah Omar has died in Porkistani military hospital makes them any different then Karzai you are so bashing?

                Ghula,
If they leaked it in the peace talks then why did Ghani thanked Omar for backing the peace talks?

This is a repeat of the late 80's and 90's when Najib tried to make peace deals with certain factions of the insurgency.

At least nine months ago, senior commanders within the Taliban knew of their leader’s death and were already plotting who would succeed him. Letters allegedly intercepted by Afghan intelligence, and written nine months ago by two Taliban commanders – Mullah Mansour Dadullah and Mullah Abdul Qayum Zakir – appeared to urge Taliban members to rebel against Mullah Omar’s then deputy, Mullah Akhtar Mansour.

So the new emir, Mullah Mansour, and his deputy, Haqqani, are both long time Paki supporters.

Who knows, maybe he eliminated Omar on ISI's orders.

Whatever happened, this spells bad news for the Talibs and I'm not sure what the implications are for the peace talks.
