One will not go one day without hearing Pakistani ask ''why do these ungrateful Afghans hate us, we do so much for them''. The question isn't why Afghans hate Pakistanis, but rather why shouldn't they... Now let me explain it by making a comparison with recent event.
The Peshawar school attack that occurred recently is one of Pakistan's deadliest attack so far. Look at how angry people become in Pakistan, and what kind of emotional reaction came from the people.
Now my question is, have you Pakistanis ever thought about what Afghans feel... The Peshawar attack is Afghan daily day. Every day in Afghanistan these kind of attacks happens. For the past 14 years, this was what Afghan felt.
Now imagine Pakistanis say ''good Taliban and bad Taliban''. Basically calling people who conducted attacks similar to Peshawar attack 'good people'. Have you ever thought what Afghans felt when a mother lost her child, or child losing his parent, and the child had to take care of his 5 siblings at age 10... Then suddenly Pakistanis shouting and telling people that those people who did this act was good people....
Can anyone in his right mind wonder why Afghans hate Pakistanis... Mothers losing her children and husbands, children losing their parents, and to put salt in the wound, people in Pakistan telling everyone that the one who killed them were good people...
To make the matter worse. Pakistani establishment/military harboring the Taliban and recruiting poor children for suicide attacks... basically creating a circle of misery.
It does not help when you shout Pashtun slogans and pretending to supports Pashtuns in Afghanistan, because you're doing the exact opposite.
Lets review what Taliban does.
- Attacks only in Pashtun dominated areas
- Preventing only Pashtuns from joining the army or the government
- Preventing infrastructure to be build in Pashtun dominated areas.
- Increase the drugs in Pashtun dominated areas and making their income dependent on it
- Destroying what ever little infrastructure there may be in Pashtun areas.
- Preventing investment in Pashtun areas
- Lowering the marked value in Pashtun areas
- Preventing Pashtuns from education
Basically Pakistan have been putting Pashtuns down economically, socially, militarily, educationally and politically. All those areas which under normal circumstance Pashtuns would have dominated. Empty slogans of 'supporting' Pashtuns aren't helping them, but rather your action of supporting Taliban have undermined Pashtuns in every way.
So Pakistanis, think for yourself for a moment and ask yourself, is the hatred toward Pakistan justified or not.
- Being bombed by USA/nato
- Being bombed by ANA
- Being bombed by Pakistani army
- Being bombed by Taliban
All that due to your support of Taliban, and your 'good and bad' Taliban policy.
Despite all you have done against Pashtun in Afghanistan. I have to add, Pashtuns in Afghanistan doesn't hate you or despise you. They simply want to live in peace once again.
