DHAMANGAON (Maharashtra): As firing from across the border declined following strong retaliatory response by India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Pakistan has been taught a "befitting lesson" with the Army "shutting their mouth".

"Pakistan has got a befitting lesson. They will not dare to repeat it again. Our jawans have shut their mouth," he said addressing an election rally here on Friday.

The Prime Minister said those living close to the border with Pakistan who had to leave their homes following nine days of heavy mortar shelling and firing will be adequately compensated by the Centre.

Are Muslims in India completely aware of the state that Pashtuns and Balochs are in ? I completely denounce the corrupt and cruel mostly Punjabi government but the fact is ordinary Punjabis don't have much say and if the Baloch and Pashtun people want independence then I am all for it but I don't understand how it would be practical when Pashtuns today live all over Pakistan. As for Asad Khattak marrying Veena Malik, don't know why any sane man would marry that attention w*ore, she did all that stuff to become known and famous which is completely shameful. Also I came to this forum predominantly to learn some Pashto and more about Pashtun culture..

1. Pakistan knows it cannot ever defeat India in a conventional military war even beyond their bravado of Pakistani superiority over "lowly Hindu" soldiers of India.

a: - The Indian military plans itself to be able to fight a war with China and India and China are in a geo-political chess game/war in Asia with e.g. India supporting Vietnam.

b: - Indian army is more professional than the Pakistani military as is evidenced by their respect for their civilian masters. The Indian army has never carried out a coup.

d: - India has defeated Pakistan in all its previous misadventures.

2. So realizing this the Pakistan army has subcontracted fighting to militant groups e.g. Lashkar e Taiba.

- These are expendable fodder, in fact not only are they willing to die they actively seek death as they believe that they will enter paradise for their cause.

3. However infilitrating Kashmir by these militants has become increasingly difficult due to the network of border fences, surveillance equipment and other things India has constructed in Kashmir.

So the impact these militants are having on India is becoming almost nominal.


4. Pakistan believes India will never conduct a full-scale war against Pakistan due to the nuclear deterrent so it believes in "Militancy under the nuclear umbrella" i.e. using militant groups who are shielded from India launching a full-scale war by Pakistan's nuclear arsenal.


5. To be honest India finds Pakistan a nuisance and not much more. It's main adversary is China. China is stable, progressing and could become the world's no.1 power whereas Pakistan is unstable, chaotic and could break up.

A year or two ago the then Pakistani prime minister, Gilani, spoke of the idea of holding a referendum for independence in Pakistani-occupied Balochistan. For him to even suggest that shows how effective the Balochistan insurgency has become.

If Balochistan leaves the federation, the federation ends.

Balochistan leaves = next day Sindhi guerilla groups copying the Baloch inspired by their success = a Pakistan army not willing to take on 30 million Sindhis backed by Balochistan, Afghanistan and India = Sindh leaving = Khyber Pakhtunkhwa staying in a landlocked "Pakistan" with Punjab, something which would mean nothing to both parties.


- India has achieved a number of key successes in the past few years aside from the Pakistan problem - which though high-profile is not as great as many think in real terms.

These include:

Reducing the Naxalite/Maoist insurgency heavily.

Reducing the power of north-eastern secessionists.

Reducing the power of anti-Indian, pro-Pakistan radical groups in Bangladesh such as the Jamaat e "Islami" terrorist organization.

As for Pakistan, it is a country with at least 3 million Pashtun refugees, power blackouts, feudalism, Imran Khan dharnas, Baloch insurgency, Sunnis massacring Shias, Karachi in turmoil. It is a failed state and not a real threat to India.

you are most welcome to discuss and learn something more about pashtu and pakhtun culture.
I am not against the poor ordinary punjabis.They too suffering in this system .
Their fellow punjabis ruling pakistan so they should be held responssible for not standing to their corrupt rulers.
we pakhtuns should focus on our own issues .We are oppressed and have no control over anything in this country.
