From 2004, Pakistan army lost 7000 troops and then sued for peace.
Nope by full scale operation , they mean subjecting entire agency to air strikes and heavy artillary shelling for weeks, leveling each and every village to ground and then send some 50k troops for ground operation.
If we take into account the small operations and surgical strikes, then they are going on in NW since 2005. The recent aerial strikes by new army chief are occuring not for last two months but 6 months, since december 2013.

25k-30k Troops are taking part in the operation initially. The numbers might rise.

As per analyst ttp strength can be as low as 1500 fighters including foriegn fighters compared to 15k during the South waziristan operation and 6k during the Swat operation.

With the operation it means permanent bases of Army in North waziristan such as in South waziristan. So TTP won't have any Safe zone to carry out and plan attack except Afghanistan and to some extent karachi

a lot of what you say reveals your utter incompetence. So you need 30k heavily armed troops with air support to tackle 1500 lightly armed men with no support.

Most reports are saying 70,000 troops.

TTP numbers are only speculated because of its decrease terrorist activities and splits

even today prior to the operation start they had offered govt possible peace talks.

I have quoted numbers directly from ISPR extract claiming initiall troops entry of 25-30k.

A analyst on tv news said it will take them 3 weeks to complete the operation.

30,000 is the total number of troops already stationed in NW. More troops are pouring in from other parts of country according to media sources. The figure in Link posted by khushal is valid one.

The figure in Link posted by khushal is valid one. In two operations against baitullah mehsud and one against fazlullah before 2008, they used forces numbering around 10,000 troops but got defeated and failed to take over mehsud region and swat. So in 2009, they used very large ground forces numbering 60,000 or more in both SW and swat. In swat ,unofficial sources even claim that around 100,000 troops were used against few thousands taliban of swat.
