30,000 is the total number of troops already stationed in NW. More troops are pouring in from other parts of country according to media sources. The figure in Link posted by khushal is valid one. In two operations against baitullah mehsud and one against fazlullah before 2008, they used forces numbering around 10,000 troops but got defeated and failed to take over mehsud region and swat. So in 2009, they used very large ground forces numbering 60,000 or more in both SW and swat. In swat ,unofficial sources even claim that around 100,000 troops were used against few thousands taliban of swat.

This is not a number game.

Taliban only survival chance is planting IED's because Most of the troops still are without MRAPs except the special teams which will carry out the Ground offensive.

For Ground offensive it willl take few days to reach the APC's,MRAP and Al zarar tank into the NW.

The operation can even take upto 1 month as per source's if any sort of support they recieve from Afghanistan side

*PAK-AFGHAN border already sealed
*All route from NW to other agencies sealed

Militants are being trapped and subjected to unmatchable firepower with Ground troops pounding them to death.

This is the worst operation in the history of Pakistan with unmatchable firepower used including MRBL's.Something Pakistan has never used before and America has been using in Afghanistan

You do realize that majority of civilians are unable to leave NW due to curfew and sealing of agency ,and they will be subjected to this fire power you are getting orgasmic over it?.

I am back from home last week. Most of them has already left while still no operation has been started in civilian region's.

Tomorrow the remaining civilian will be allowed to move out with the transport also arrange by the govt.

Only Allah can stop talibandits from the azaab imposed on talibandits.

According to local journalist safdar dawar, civilians are trapped in NW due to curfew for last four days. According to him these civilians could be used both by military and militants as shield.
Is the operation going against all 1 million people of wazir and Dawar tribes?that from last 4 days there is regular curfew...

Any one escaping , is shot-on-sight due to curfew. Food ration is near depletion due to curfew.
...
The families in bannu spent night on roads in open sky.
