Additionally, Bangladesh is a transit point for Pakistan-sponsored terrorists bound for India. In the hostile regional competition, Paki establishment does try to install regimes where it can (e.g., it tried in Afghanistan in 1990s) or influence neighbouring govt in an effort to form a broad anti-India regional block. In the case of Muslim countries, it uses the Islamic card; in the case of non-Muslim countries, it looks for other common grounds.

From Bangladesh and Afg the expectations are they would line themselves behind Pakistan as a Muslim leader and in its enmity with India.

One cannot rule out the possibility of some kind of cooperation between countries in the region to resist Pakistan's destabilizing agenda and its subversive foreign policy. There can be many forms of indirect (cold) wars e.g. on diplomatic front, in economic sphere, proxy wars (Karachi, Sindh, Baluchistan, Taleban, etc.). The BJP govt to some degree may use the containment policy about Pakistan by working closely with the states in the region that have tensions with Pakistan.

    You are correct.

    1. Pakistan has a lot of influence in Bangladesh through its proxies such as the Jamaat e "Islami" and also the BNP who worked to promote Pakistani interests at the cost of Bangladesh's interests by supporting anti-Indian separatists against our nuclear neighbour, India.

    2. Whenever the Awami League is in power in Bangladesh, Pakistan goes beserk and then tells Saudi to carry out sanctions against us e.g. blocking recruitment of Bangladeshi workers (a massive blow for the Bangladeshi economy since our 2nd biggest source of foreign income - after garments - is expatriate remittances, and Saudi Arabia is the country with our biggest number of foreign workers).

Pakistanis being the masters of deceit and manipulation have also, with the Jamaatis, managed to turn the whole global "Islamist" network against us, so when one Jamaati political leader, Quader Mollah, is killed it is seen as a global event with 0.2 million tweets and the Bangladeshi embassy in Turkey attacked, with the Turkish and Arab media completely ignoring the larger issue of the 1971 war and the hundreds of thousands killed.

In the unwritten racial hierarchy amongst Muslims, Pakistanis are seen as superior or "more Muslim" to Bengalis.

The Pakistani regime moved a resolution in their parliament against the execution of a Bangladeshi citizen (Quader Mollah) for killing Bangladeshi civilians on Bangladeshi soil as he was a Jamaati and they need to protect their assets and their influence in "east Pakistan", which they see as spiritually their ex-province which must retain loyalty to Pakistan.

So the cunning Pakistanis have turned the Saudis, Turks, Ikhwani/"Islamist" network against us while all these 3 aforementioned parties turn a blind eye (probably even support) the genocide committed against us.

Yes, truly sad, but indicative of the failure of political Islam, which is based on ignorance.

    3. Bangladeshis are quite naive people with little self-esteem unlike proud Afghans who are also more shrewd. So Bengalis will fall for the "Muslim" card even today used by Pakistanis (look at Asad71 and how pro-Pakistan he is and his opposition to the Baloch resistance), Afghans however are different.

Afghans look down on Pakistanis as racially inferior and semi-Hindu. Afghans regard themselves as more Muslim than Pakistanis and having brought Islam to them and find it a joke if a Pakistani speaks to them about Islam.

This may sound like anecdotal mentioning of cultural attitudes but it is more important than that since on a mass level there would be no pressure on the Kabul government to support Pakistan as an "Islamic" duty.

    4. Hindus are not that pacifist. The Marathis conquered many kingdoms and defeated and subjugated Muslims until Ahmed Shah Abdali (rahmatullahi 'alaih) himself had to come to defeat them. There have been many Hindu kingdoms and warriors.

    5. The one major way that Modi can hit Pakistan is through supporting the Baloch insurgency. Remember about a year or two ago, the then prime minister Gilani spoke about a referendum on independence for the Baloch as the insurgency was doing a lot of damage.

Yo i think you forgot to mention that Afghanistan voted against Pakistan's creation at the Un and they supported pashtun separatists in Pakistan, so Pakistan just turned the tables.

Today on the Pakistani hate-site "defence.pk", an Indian posted an article about the ISI's role in Bangladesh.

Now the thread is not even there, it has been deleted it seems.

Threads being deleted in defence.pk hardly ever occurs, even the most nonsensical or offensive of threads (that are locked not outright deleted), so the Pakistanis definitely wanted to conceal something.

Defence.pk is a propaganda site with members close to the Pakistani military. It's "Bangladesh "sub-forum aims to present Bangladesh as a failed state (thus negating the validity of Bangladeshi independence) and under the control of India (nonsense).

Defence.pk moderators allow abuse of normal Bangladeshis by Jamaatis, but are very quick in issuing infractions or warnings to normal Bangladeshis if they say things - even expressed politely - which Jamaatis don't like.

Anyway here is a link to the article: http://mygoldenbengal.wordpress.com/...t-almost-over/

This is the most relevant part:

During the late 1970′s, as the Soviets invaded Afghanistan the Saudi-Pakistan-US nexus got a big boost up. This was the time when General Ziaul Huq of Pakistan and General Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh became blood brothers. The Bengali Zia might have been ashamed to remember his freedom fighting days. He provided the necessary platform to ISI for conducting its business in Bangladesh. The Pakistanis got total upper hand in the chess game. General Ziaur Rahman became the ultimate Trojan Horse of the Punjabi ruling elite. The ISI had two-tier objectives in Bangladesh. Primarily, in order to give India a good lesson, the shipments of arms under the guidance of the military ruler in Bangladesh were destined to insurgency movements in the northeastern corridor of India. It goes without saying that Indian rebels got a guaranteed sanctuary on the soil of Bangladesh. Secondly, the infusion of political Islamic ideology would help diminish the hatred against the Pakistani rapists and killers of 1971. They were successful in both the fronts. On the other hand, India did not stay quiet either. As a tit for tatting, India reciprocated by further fomenting the Chittagong Hill Tracts insurgency. That did not bring a positive feedback from the Bangladesh citizenry. Rather, India’s approach backfired and Pakistani clandestine activity got the desired outcome. The shrewd and power hungry Zia made Bangladesh a hotbed of tussles between India and Pakistan, which went on unabated without public knowledge. General Ershad simply took the mantle from his predecessor and ran with it for almost a decade.

            - The Bangladeshi military (until recently) was composed of Pakistani-trained officers who viewed India as the ultimate enemy even post independence (as that is what they had been raised upon and indoctrinated in to).

            - Zia and Ershad and the pro-Pakistan BNP have used Bangladeshi soil to help Pakistan supply arms to anti-Indian separatists in north-eastern India.

What would anyone expect India to do if not retaliate?

The Bangladeshi generals used Bangladesh to take part in a "war" (campaign of destabilization) on behalf of Pakistan against India which damaged Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is similar to Afghanistan in that regard as both countries are victims of Pakistani meddling. However Bangladesh as it does not have a border with Pakistan is far more stable.

The Saudis also work closely with Pakistan to bully Bangladesh. This is why I feel very worried for Bangladesh's existence as an independent state due to the Saudi threat. If Saudi does not behave itself however it will face severe consequences (watch, wait and learn).

The Bangladesh army is now more professional and the new officer corps are trained in Bangladesh and not the Pakistan-trained officers of the past, as I said look at Asad71 to see how blindly pro-Pakistan and anti-India some of these officers/generals are.

It is good that the young Bangladeshi army officers are home-trained and thus less susceptible to influences by Pakistan. It would be better for Bangladesh to be integrated more in South East Asia in terms of economy and security than to be embroiled in Indo-Pak rivalry.

The Paki Army itself is a product of British Colonialism. During WWII, more than 2 million Hindustanis fought like donkeys for British Empire as mercenaries most of whom were Punjabi Muslims. They were the main tool for the British colonial control over the native people. Now they have assigned themselves the task of defending Pakistan's ideological and geographical frontiers and portray themselves as army of Islam.

The fact is, they are neither the army of Islam nor the defenders of any frontiers. They rather are defending the perks and privileges that they enjoy by devouring 70% of the budget.

The successful nature of Bangladesh is important and relevant to Pashtuns because it shows that post-Pakistan (i.e. if Pakhtunkhwa leaves Pakistan), Muslim peoples being oppressed by Punjabis today can have a successful future ahead of them.

I wish my Muslim brothers in Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan freedom, peace and prosperity.
