  • Pakistan starts building 60 km long mud wall on Pak-Afghan border

CHAMAN- Pakistan has decided to make extended security arrangements at Pak-Afghan border.

According to official sources at Chaman, security forces are constructing a mud wall at the border by using heavy machinery and work on the project is in full swing. The mud wall is being constructed on an area of 60 kilometres to block all illegal ways and stop all unlawful transportation.

The mud wall will be five feet deep and eight feet wide. The security officials said that the wall would also indicate exact location of the Pak-Afghan border. Moreover, check posts have already been established on Pakistan side of the border.

Does Pakistan really think they can get away with building a wall while Afghanistan does nothing about it? Afghanistan has as much right on the Durand line as Pakistan so this basically crossing the limits.

And what about Pashtuns what do they think about this? i think pakistan is taking things too far here.

Wall along the Pak-Afghan border already exist. In 2011 i had myself seen a barbed wire wall on ghulam khan post b/w NW and khost except in certain region's like Nuristan and Swat, bajaur and patkia etc.

Well I think Afghanistan govt will also support the fencing since it will reduce the illegal trade which is said to be in excess of 2billion dollars and damaging both countries aswell as it will reduce the cross border terrorism of both countries into Both Countries.

Punjab has no say in the affairs of the Pashtun people. Musharraf tried similar tactics, and it was Pashtuns of both sides that dismissed and protested.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

I believe the wall is being built by Balochistan security force's in Short FC Balochistan.

As i explained earlier,Both Countries are effected by illegal trade, infact Afghanistan even more since the smuggler easily escape the tax network which in turn effect the Afghanistan revenue collection.

As per various source's the Pakistan-Afghanistan illegal trade is more than 2Billion dollars. So it would be safe to assume that it result in an annual loss of 50-60Million dollars for Afghanistan and with this much money you can build a sharif sort of tech university in kabul

Mud wall 8feet wide will atleast cost 10times more than a simple barbed wire wall constructed around the world.Even India and Pakistan border is not made up of concrete but rather a simple barbed wire wall.

With the same money,They can construct a 300km barbed wire wall compared to only a 60km mud wall primary built by a security agency

                              Example of Pakistan India Border
                              This is the International Border

                              While this is the LOC

                              Properly Fenced

Now compare this simple barbed wire wall cost to a mud wall of 8ft wide. And how much labour it would need to be constructed.
