It seems this was on Western strategic agenda since 2008-2009.
A few pointers are: Haldbrook pressuring Karzai for a run-off with Abdullah in 2009 elections and the relentless Western propaganda about the 2009 elections as rigged in favour of Karzai (they claimed mostly in the Pashtun south) not to mention Western interference in those elections and the explicit support to Abdullah Abdullah, the sustained pressure on Karzai afterwards using corruption charges, the Qatar negotiations with Taleban where Taleban acted as a state which Karzai reacted to strongly(one should remember how furious Karzai was and how was the Americans activism), how Taleban insisted they will negotiate with "other Afghans and not Karzai" (one can guess the other Afghans were Northern Alliance?), the insistence by NA leaders and Pakistan that Taleban+Hizbi-Islami are the representatives of Pashtuns, the contacts between Abdullah Abdullah and Pakistanis and Pakistan's overt support to Abdullah Abdullah, Abdullah Abdullah's stance on federalism in Afg and Durand Line, Abdullah Abdullah's portrayal as the most credible leader in Afg in the Western media, etc.
The overall plan seems to be: giving south-east to Taleban while strengthening NA ranks in Kabul and the north politically and militarily against any possible Taleban incursion.Last edited by Toramana; 05-13-2014, 06:03 PM.

Chances are the election will not go to second round.
Abdullah2X agenda---parliamentary system, hinting to accept the imaginary Durand line and all the Khorassani/Setamis pigs ganging around him are very frightening. I would think America has reached an agreement with Iran and Abdullah will win---pashtun will be turned into punching bags---Talibans will be kept alive to be used against Russia/China in future dates.
Not just Russia/China. In the sight also is Iran. A radical Sunni Islamist movement can be used to punish and influence Iran as well. The Saudi Iran rivalry will also likely be a factor in sustaining Talebani ideological structures.

Why should they? The Pashtun liberal elite have been complicit in the 13 year western occupation of the country and they are killing Talibs daily on the orders of their western masters.Originally posted by Toramana View PostAnd the problem is, as brutal and blood-thirsty the Islamists (Taleban+Hizb-i-Islami+other pan-Islamists) are, one wonders, would they treat Pashtun liberal political elite any humanly ?
At least 275 Taliban militants were killed during military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces during the past one week. Interior
From the Taliban perspective why would they even consider showing them mercy if they had the power to choose their fate? There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

And how is that the fault of "morons" like me? Its you people who have sold your ghairat for this western occupation and form of government, when you don't like the results now you are blaming people like me who have been against this whole set up from the get go. lolOriginally posted by Azmal View PostMorons are like you are the real reason we pashtuns have turned into punching bags in the region. You are overestimating Saudi and Iranian influences in the country, their battlefields are elsewhere like Iraq and Syria, Afghanistan is pretty much an afterthought. The Saudi disinterest in repeated requests from the Karzai gov't to sponsor or host peace talks shows their apathy towards the war.Originally posted by Toramana View PostNot just Russia/China. Good answer, brother. The Saudis lost trust in Taliban and in Gulbuddin. Also in Mr. Sayyaf and other NA leaders. None of these parties could serve Saudis´interests. Today, the Saudis want to mediate between the different parties. They only have a huge support in Pakistan where Talibanisation/Wahabisation is used for political purposes.Originally posted by randolph85 View PostYou are overestimating Saudi and Iranian influences in the country, their battlefields are elsewhere like Iraq and Syria, Afghanistan is pretty much an afterthought. If you guys are in favor of united Afghanistan than everyone should be given a chance to win the election and lead the country. We should put aside our ethnic hatred and work together. I fully understand a lot of these people have blood of the innocents in their hands but name one person who is better fitted to lead the country today? Ashraf Ghani is supported by Dostum who happens to be killers of many Pashtuns in the North of the Country. Name one person who isn't a killer?
It's time to accept the reality and forgive people for the sake of the country and its population. We are sitting in the west and talk about who should win and lose but we never think of the consequences.
I'm not a supporter of any particular candidates but I'd say whoever wins lets give them a try. Maybe a non-pashtun will do a better job and get the country out of its miseries or just maybe it will bring more unity among the population of the country.
It's time to put an end to the hatred and work together as a nation. Stop labeling people as traitor and give them a chance to prove themselves.

You just figured that out, Ghul. Gates confirmed a long time ago they wanted Abdullahx2 since the last election. Morons like you, Ghani, and Karzai are being played by all sides. Pashtun Nationalists cant even unite when they are being attacked by everyone. You guys are pathetic.Originally posted by Toramana View PostIt seems this was on Western strategic agenda since 2008-2009.

Without sources, you are talking out of your arse. Your making numbers up.Originally posted by Bost Bastan News View PostCan you please elaborate which part of my comment was a lie? Mr Ghani without Dostum could get only 22% of all votes. What does this point tell you? Majority of Pashtuns who could vote voted for him, followed by Zalmai Rasul. Mr. Abdullah came on forth position. You can assumpe that around half of Pashtuns have the age and rights of voting and that majority of them will vote but not all of them. Where people haven´t voted or couldn´t vote due security reasons there was occuring riggings and frauds most of the time in favour of Mr. Ghani. You deny? You just prove that you hate Mr. Rasul and Mr. Shirzai because they do not belong to your eastern network. Yet you deny such a thing doesn´t exist. You should not think only from the perspective of a Pashtun but also from the perspective of Hazaras, Uzbeks, Farsiwans, Balochs who also will this time flood the polling stations and more voters will come to support their candidates. Around 15% of Hazara people could not vote, 10% of Uzbeks, around 30% of Farsiwans. All these facts must be considered otherwise your math won´t work. Don´t use insultive words, stay cool, rational and distanced. Be a nice discussion mate.
Dostom did not deliver 10% of the vote for Ghani. lol. If that was the case, Dostom could have ran on his own and then sell that influence to the highest bidder like Rasoul did.
You are a complete Ghul.

All of these measures are supposed to bring peace to Afghanistan. The problem is Taliban (and Pashtuns in general) do not like it when TajiksUzbeksHazaras have self-governance.Originally posted by Toramana View PostIt seems this was on Western strategic agenda since 2008-2009.

If Pashtun majority regions become Taliban, as they want, that is not a problem. It becomes a problem when Pashtuns wage Jihad against TajiksUzbeksHazaras under the guise of removing warlords and "uniting Afghanistan".

Abdullah Abdullah is such a joke. This khar doesn't even have his own style, he's jacked Ghani's style like wearing the kadoo on his shoulder while sitting with that traitor rasoul. How do you expect a person like abdullah to run a country if he can't even think for himself? lol.

I do not need to prove an uneducated person living in western world in his fake reality under a fake nationalist umbrella. How many votes did Dostum provided to Mr. Ghani? Before calling others Ghul try not being self a ''Ghul''. The Pashtuns voters of Ghani was just a bit more than that of Uzbeks. After the election Ghani will be among the first ones who will escape from Afghanistan but do you know that there have started orders to investigate the entire career of Mr. Ghani of the past 12years? The most corrupt and biggest thief in Afghanistan in the last 12years was Mr. Ghani. Where are 17Billon USD he was responsible for??? The frauds and rigs and the danger he is bringing right now on the nation will be just a small thing that law makers will trial on him.Originally posted by khushal View PostWithout sources, you are talking out of your arse.
