      Update:

      1. The Jamaat e Islami (Pakistan wing) have said they will not join Imran Khan's PTI in agitation against the Pakistani government.

Commentators are speculating this means the JI (Jamaat) are siding with Nawaz Sharif's PML-N.

The PML-N is a Punjabi nationalist party (not explicit nationalists, but look out primarily for the interests of Punjab) with links to extreme terrorists such as Lashkar Jhangvi, main group in the "Punjabi Taliban".

So it seems there is a PML-N, Jamaat, Punjabi Taliban nexus.

Imran Khan has been snubbed by Jamaatis in favour of Nawaz Sharif.

      2. Imran Khan is now praising Hamid Mir, the legendary Pakistani journalist and might be seeking to de-escalate his war with Pakistani news channel, Geo.

This might be because he has realized he is not strong enough to take them on and will be severely weakened if he tries to attack them.

      3. A man has been killed in a clash between PTI (Imran Khan's party) and the police.

BANNU: In an exchange of fire in Bannu, a man was shot dead and five others were injured, Express News reported on Thursday.
The incident took place outside the Wapda House. The firing took place between PTI workers, who had gone to the Wapda House to get bail in the cases regarding electricity theft registered against them, and Wapda officials. A campaign against electricity thieves is underway in the area.
Brother of a PTI member and three police officers are reportedly among the injured, while the deceased was a passer-by.
The police has reached the site of the incident and cordoned off the Wapda House.

      4. PTI workers fought with policemen in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: A clash occurred between workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the police in Islamabad on Friday, Express News reported.
Fists and slaps were thrown from the workers’ side after which the police baton charged them.

Imran promises ‘change’ in three months

        The Newspaper's Correspondent
        Published about 7 hours ago

ABBOTTABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief Imran Khan has said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will witness a real change in their lives in the next three months.

He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering at Pattan Kalan on Saturday in connection with the by-elections for PK-45 Abbottabad, which are scheduled to be held on June 5. The provincial assembly seat was vacated by Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan after assuming charge as governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Six candidates are in the run for the PK-45 seat. However, tough contest is expected between Sardar Mehtab’s cousin Mohammad Farid contesting the elections on PML-N ticket and Ali Asghar Khan, divisional president and central vice-president of PTI.

Imran Khan said that after the local government elections in the province the development work would be geared up and it would be the start of fulfilling the PTI’s promise to empower people at local level. He said that PTI wanted to devolve power to masses to free them from the clutches of the elite class, who were interested only in increasing their bank balances.

The PTI chief said that currently more and more people were going below the poverty line while the ruling class, which had shifted their wealth to foreign countries, was getting richer and richer. He asked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders to bring their own wealth back to Pakistan instead of asking other people to invest in the country. “The rulers should lead by example,” he said.

Regarding the transparency of by-elections, Mr Khan made it clear that they would hold free and fair elections and that win or loss was part of the process.

The PTI chief said that two parties were playing the game of musical chairs in the country from the last 30 years, but now the people had realised that the country should get rid of all those who had plundered the national exchequer. He said that the loot and plunder of national wealth was still continuing and poor people’s funds were being spent by the rulers lavishly on their security and other things like the recent purchase of two vehicles at a cost of Rs220 million.

Sorry! What PTI has said in the public gathering in Pattan Kalan Distt. Abbottabad is totally wrong. They possesses no practical programe or agenda. He is leveling unfounded allegations on others to achieve their goals.

Mr. Imran Khan...enough of this change rhetoric...if you wanna change....start with your own party...as they say charity begins at home...plz. ask your party's top brass to declare "real value" of their respective assets and inform masses how they amazed such humongous amount of wealth...it will help root out corruption and corrupt leaders from PTI and would provide you moral high ground to spread "Tehreek-e-Insaf".......plz. consider it as a friendly advice from a Canadian well wisher ... -

          1. Imran Khan has made promises he is not able to keep including his now notorious and ridiculous 300-350 dams over 5 years claim.

          2. He is promoting Pakistani nationalism in Pakhtunkhwa at the cost of Pashtun identity.

          3. He wants to break Khyber Pakhtunkhwa up and create a "Hazara" province but wants to keep Punjab united.

          4. He supports fundamentalists and terrorists e.g. Jamaat e Islami.

20% of his party's tenure in office has expired and 80% is left.

Let us say he wanted to make 300 dams in those 4 years, that's 48 months.

          300 / 48 = 6.25 dams a month, basically 3 dams every 2 weeks.

This guy is an idiot promoting the Pakistani military's agenda in Pakhtunkhwa.

His uncle was a Pakistani military commander, a general.

General Wajid Ali Khan Burki, left, the uncle of Imran Khan.

You need to realize that the provincial government can't do much without the cooperation and funding of the federal gov controlled by Nawaz; there's not much IK can do if nawaz is hell bunt on making him fail but at the same time he's giving favors to his brother shahbaz' province.

2.PTI was voted in by the people of KPK and if that's what the want you shouldn't worry

3.That's what us hazarewal's want, why are you interfering in an issue between Pashtuns and Hindkowans?I support a Seraiki and Potohari province too and Imran Khan does too because he's the one that called for a Seraiki province after seeing PMLNs hegemony in Punjab.

4.the media is biased about PTIs achievements in KPK so far and they've only been in power for merely 11 months, give them one whole term; if you don;t like them would like KPK to be ruled by ANP again?we know how well that went

You just don't like PTI because they promote the interests of the people of KPK, and they don't support the Afghan nationalist agenda.

              1. So you are putting the blame on Nawaz Sharif and not Imran Khan?

a: If Imran Khan realizes that the Pakistani national government wants to sabotage the progress of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by denying funding then why is he now making more false promises?

This is a form of lying.

b: What will he do after his 2nd year of power and then his 3rd and then after the final 5 years? "Hi, vote for me. I didn't achieve much but blame Nawaz Sharif not me."

2.PTI was voted in by the people of KPK and if that's what the want you shouldn't worry

PTI did not get a majority and has formed government due to the support of others. It has less than the 63 required to form the lowest possible absolute majority in the KPK parliament.

I am also entitled to express my personal opinions on KPK politics just as I am entitled to express my opinions on Obama and his policies.

3.That's what us hazarewal's want, why are you interfering in an issue between Pashtuns and Hindkowans?I support a Seraiki and Potohari province too and Imran Khan does too because he's the one that called for a Seraiki province after seeing PMLNs hegemony in Punjab.

This is a very complicated topic and there is a thread specifically devoted to this issue with about 20 pages.

a: Hazarewals are entitled to express their wishes on provincial boundaries.

b: However parts of the Hazara division are majority Pashtun and the Pashtun (i.e. Pashto-speaking not Hindko-speaking Tareens, Jadoons etc) people of these areas do not want to be incorporated against their will in to a "Hazara province" @Tiger Khan can shed light on the demographics.

c: Also this issue once again highlights the dominance of Punjab in Pakistan. Pashtuns wait for 60 years merely for a simple name change before they get it, Hindko/Punjabis (yes, Hindko is a form of Punjabi or at the least related to it) demand a whole new province and will probably get it less than 60 months!

If Hindko/Punjabi speakers of Hazara want their own province what about the Pashtuns of northern Balochistan?

There has to be a fair manner to deal with these issues and ironically even the PTI agree on this.

I used to like Imran Khan in the past e.g. he called for an apology for the Bangladesh genocide of 1971, his party called for the issuing of citizenship for Bengalis in Karachi and tried to work with them.

I lost respect for him after he interfered in Bangladeshi domestic affairs and spoke out against the conviction and sentencing of a Bangladeshi citizen accused of murdering Bangladeshi civilians on Bangladeshi soil (i.e. nothing to do with Pakistan), plus he is essentially a proxy for the Pakistani security establishment and their agenda including an unsavoury alliance with the likes of the Jamaat e Islami and the Taliban.

I am not in favour of the Afghan nationalist agenda nor against it. I do recognize however the majority of Pakistani Pashtuns are "loyal" to Pakistan and want the country to work. If I was a propagandist I would be saying that Pakistani Pashtuns are living in total misery and cry every night for soldiers from Kabul to liberate them as their saviours. That of course would be nonsense.

The ANP itself does not believe in a Loy Afghanistan, and if Pakistan were to break they and Pakistani Pashtuns would opt for an independent Pashtun state with Pekhawar as its capital and not for Afghanistan.

Anyway coming back to Imran Khan, you yourself implicity seem to accept that he is a failure by claiming his lack of success is due to him being handicapped by Nawaz Sharif.

So it seems we both agree Imran Khan is indeed a failure.

12:00 AM, MAY 31, 2005 • BY JAI SINGH AND JAMES FORSYTH
"KHAN EMBODIES THE HYPOCRISY of Muslim elites who inveigh against the West by day and enjoy its pleasures by night. His fame in Pakistan comes from cricket not politics: Khan is the best cricketer Pakistan has ever produced. But in London many remember him as an even greater playboy. Throughout the 1980s Khan was linked to a string of beautiful women. In 1988 he told Australia's Sunday Mail, "Pakistan society encourages marriage. There, I lead a very steady, comfortable life. Here, it is more exciting. The pace is faster. Because of the nightclubs and parties, it is a very good place to be single." But as his cricket career wound down and he began to develop political ambitions, Khan became more reticent about his lifestyle. In 1992 when a London Evening Standard reporter asked him if he found his conquests fulfilling he turned bashful: "Er, by answering that question I put myself in a difficult position because this will get quoted in Pakistan. And in Pakistan, the mere fact that you admit you're having affairs upsets a lot of people's sensitivities. I respect my own culture and a lot of young people look up to me. It's a big responsibility for me not to make these admissions in public. Everyone knows I'm a single man and a normal man. But there's no need to stick it down their throats." His ex-girlfriends were less discreet, though. One observed to the Times, that same year, that Imran "juggled his girlfriends extremely elegantly . . . and he likes mangoes."

"Even his political allies find Khan's duplicity hard to take. In 2002 one of his party leaders remarked: "Even we are finding it difficult to figure out the real Imran. He dons the shalwar-kameez and preaches desi and religious values while in Pakistan, but transforms himself completely while rubbing shoulders with the elite in Britain and elsewhere in the West." Khan claims that his marriage proved he wasn't a politician but his divorce and his recent demagoguery show that he now is one, albeit one of the worst sort."

No wonder Abdul the Paki mule aka Idon’tcareaboutAfghanistan supports this hypocrite. Free men created by god, have over the centuries been indoctrinated as willing slaves to anyone powerful enough to shame them in the name of whatever draconian Islam they’ve sought to legitimize their. Past monarchs in Muslim societies had recognized this and thus ensured their ongoing association with the Mullahs if only to legitimize their rule. If you look at Muslim history-even Christian history until the separation of church and state—you would find thousands of hypocrisy. Religion is used as a tool by group of people to control the mass. This is why secularism is the only answer, at least there is no hiding or closet work as these people are well known for.
