1.Most "Islamists" on this forum are hypocrites, big time hypocrites. I have noticed they also tend to be quite anti-Bengali. this kind of behaviour is not only typical for islamists also for fundamentalists
2. Another was a Taliban supporter, then visited Afghanistan for a holiday and came back to the EU (NATO-defended) state rather than joining his beloved Taliban comrades in Afghanistan. If the Taliban are so great, why didn't he join them?
3. Another was an extremist who lied about the Quran when he said the punishment of stoning people to death is mentioned in the Quran - complete lie. It isn't. He also used to open anti-Bengali threads and say how he preferred Punjabis to Bengalis. He was a big Arab-wannabe and very defensive about them.
4. Another insulted a members parents, said he would punch Badlun if he ever saw him and is also anti-Bengali it seems as he seems to support war crimes against hundreds of thousands of Muslim Bengalis but goes beserk if you say anything about his beloved "Muslim" (Mufsid) brotherhood.
5. Another is an Arab-wannabe who tries to promote learning of the Arabic language (a language I speak, ana darastu al lughatul 'arabiyeeah fee Sooriyah), trolls and insults here and calls Bengalis "coakroaches".
I personally don't care about such losers (all of whom live in the west rather than in Saudi Arabia or Muslim-Brotherhood run Sudan/Tunisia) but these are just 5 random "Islamists" and now I can fully understand why Hezb i Islami and Jamaat e Islami destroyed Kabul by rocketing in the 1990s as they are the same low quality goons as the five I described above.
Fighters during the bombing of Kabul by opposing factions of "Islamists".
It's people like the 5 above who drove many people away from the forum including females with their aggressive behaviour, family insults etc.
My last point is that many of these "Islamists" are Bukhari-worshippers or Hadeeth-worshippers. That is they blindly and unquestioningly follow statements attributed to the holy prophet Muhammad solAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam 200 years after his death.
They are in fact brainwashed and in a Bukharist-cult and can't deal with the fact that for example if we were to go by their beloved "ahadeeth", Syria should not be having this war as it is a place of "salaamah" (peace) and "barakah" (blessings). Many ahadith are problematic, and contradict both the Quran and reality.
We have to follow what the holy prophet solAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam in his capacity as a messenger/prophet (not personal capacity) said as it is a source of shar'a (divine law) but much of the ahadith are weak/fabricated and have given rise to an unworkable pseudo-shariah.
By the way I have personally been in the house of the late Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki and heard someone narrating a "hadith" all the way back from himself to the prophet with each narrator in the chain of transmission mentioned. So I know my stuff far better than the "Islamist" goons on this forum but I don't waste my time talking about something as important as deen (religion) on a message board with lots of trolls.

Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki, rahmatullahi 'alaih.
Tell me what your thoughts are on University of Washington's Jonathan Brown's seminal work on hadith literature. His ground breaking work led to a PhD at an early age.
It was what actually spurred his eventual study and conversion to Islam.
A Brief History of Hadith Collection and Criticism 1/10 - YouTube
Multiple parts
Here is his discussion of the science of hadith and why he disagrees with your viewpoint on the utility of Bukhari for instance:
Hadith Contradicting Empirical Evidence & Ethics - Jonathan Brown - YouTube
He specifically addresses the issue of criticizing Bukhari and Muslim at the end of that last video.
I would say that the corpus of hadith, in tandem, from Maliki onwards are paramount to Islamic Jurisprudence and the potential for an authentic Islamic Government.
All constitutions and important documents, of which the Quran is one, have key statements that are stand alone and form the bedrock of a society, this is absolutely correct. I see eye to eye with you on this aspect of your argument.
However, two examples would suffice to show how adjunctive data can help understand and provide depth and breath, if it is available. At the end of the day, the very bedrock itself (i.e. the Quranic Promulgated Law) is the fail safe and provides in the least a fundamentally justice foundation.
The current raging debate in the US centers around interpretations and implementations of the fourth amendment. Another important one is the second amendment and the right to bear arms. Both sides of the debate hearken back to Madison and Hamilton etc to understand their interpretations of a foundational law. Subsequently, a Supreme Court set of decisions contribute to official interpretation, perhaps for better or for worse depending on who you ask.
I would say that the corpus of hadith literature and other adjunct histories of that era are important in this same way. Juristic opinion and interpretation are also important. These pieces of literature, if utilized wisely can add depth and breath to execution of that divine law. I would hesitate before removing the ability for Jurists to reach to the past to understand contemporary views and evolving views across time regarding Islamic Law.
As in any law system, the abuse of precedent or the devising of bad precedent (Jon Yoo in our United States for instance in his devising egregious abuses of executive power) lays in the hands of the very humans that use the law. God in his wisdom never guarantees that the human flock executing any set of laws, man made or divinely revealed will produce 100% justice or reach primacy simply through adhering. Rather, it is clear that Al-Kitab laments the egregious abuses and covering up by humans of prior divine law and their inability or unwilling execution of it (e.g. refer to the Surah Baqrah discussion of the sacrificial heifer).
In summary, I would request your opinion on Dr. Brown's preference for the validity of hadith literature... he is after all renowned in oriental circles for dealing devastating blows to John Burton's thesis:
The most surprising feature of the Muslim traditions on the collection of the Qur'ān is their denial of any role in the process to Muhammad himself. The merit of assembling and preserving the record of the momentous divine revelations has been variously ascribed to some half dozen of the Prophet's associates or Companions, and these ascriptions have usually been treated as hopelessly conflicting. Dr Burton argues that they are in perfect agreement. Their sole function was the deliberate exclusion of Mohammed. Dr Burton demonstrates in his analysis of the original Muslim sources a series of subtle distinctions, the most significant being that between the Qur'ān document and source. This 1977 analysis of early Muslim traditions challenges existing scholarly interpretations, and Dr Burton argues his case with a wealth of detail. It is a book which all students of Islam will find required reading.
This Burton thesis, intriguing enough as it is, takes your view of hadith literature and surmises that jurists introduced hadith to weaken a more perfect observation of Quranic Law.... i.e. Burton believes strongly that the Quran we have in hand was actually on the paper compiled in the life of the Holy of Holies, The Messenger Muhammad Mostafa, as opposed to the compilation histories of Abu Bakr and Uthman. That is, Burton provides a lot of motivation for the Quranists amongst us who feel the hadith are shackles...
Brown was but a young lad when his work took aim and took down important aspects of Burton's work.Last edited by BarakzaiAbdali; 05-04-2014, 06:36 PM."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

He was talking about small hydel dams for power generation.Small dams take much less time to build compared with medium and large hydel dams.Originally posted by Bengal_Tiger View PostTo be honest, I'm not really that bothered about Imran Khan's personal life. However what he promises to the public is a different thing.
Toramana when I place someone on ignore I also have a policy that I do not post in their threads (though I may read comments of others on there), partly because I don't want anything to do with that person but partly so they will avoid my threads too.
This is why I did not post in a thread about electricity shortage where you were trying to instill sense in to "someone".
However let me just say this about the PTI and Imran Khan. If he did say that the PTI would create 300 dams in 5 years (even small dams) then this is the maths:
300 dams over 5 years
=
60 dams per year
=
5 dams per month
=
1.25 dams per 4 weeks (approximately a month)
In other words Khan was saying he could build a dam a week in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Dawn he promised to build 350 dams:
That means 70 per year, 5.8 per month, 1.45 per week (5.8 / 4).
Imran Khan should go to Laos where they have the humble goal of building 10 dams over the next 5 years.
Imran Khan, the super-dam builder.

Imran Khan: "Haha, did you Pathans really believe me when I said I'd build 350 dams in 5 years?"

Earlier this month, Buddhist Goldie accompanied Imran - whose ex-wife, Jemima Khan, is now romancing Hugh Grant - to the birthday party of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan in Bombay. A friend revealed to Britain's News of the World newspaper: "They have been friends for a long time but this time around they spent the entire week together.
