Pashtuns and tajiks should reach a power sharing agreement. These both tribes make up +- 75% afghan population. If tajiks are not happy the rest of afghan tribes who are afraid of pashtuns will stand with them. If tajiks and pashtuns are happy then peace will come true.

But Pashtuns should better ally themselves with powerful friends, because I do not think they can defend against a newly assertive Russia, a more dominant Iran, and an India willing to protect its interests ouside her borders. Not to mention guaranteed American support for the TajikUzbekHazaras when the BSA is signed.

The Punjabis and Arabs are desperately needed. Hamid Gul (father of the Taliban) might even come out of retirement.

The differnece is that i do agree India or America support has more influence than Pakistan.

But when it comes to Afghanistan and especially the region.Pashtun in Afghanistan with the only support from Pakistan(Indireclty from china aswell) will be the sole winner against Tajik/Uzbek/Hazara even if they have whole of west support/india and even russia.

Because Nothing come close to Ground level experience and no one knows the ground realities in Afghanistan better than Pakistan.

So don't worry about Pashtuns in Afghanistan,No matter what.They will be the sole winner in Afghanistan not only today but for the decades to come
