Afridi Elders in Nangarhar, Afghanistan
I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but elders from the Afridi tribe on the Pakistani side of the border came across to Afghanistan, Nangarhar specifically, and said to the government, "We love our homeland Afghanistan and want to be annexed with it" a while ago (around May, 2013).
I am not necessarily an advocate for Loy Afghanistan, as I see that the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, etc. have the right to self-determinism, and if they wish to remain with Pakistan then so be it, but nonetheless I found this article rather interesting, and I have stumbled on many other articles and videos in which Pashtuns in Pakistan are victims of discrimination, and violent prejudice to boot.
Furthermore, I know of few Pashtuns living in my area who are from Balochistan and FATA and they consider themselves Afghan. Nonetheless, I also know a few Pashtuns who view themselves as Pakistani— I wonder why and how this division amongst the Pashtuns of Pakistan has occurred?
Keep in mind, although I do not know which perspective is in great number amongst the Pashtuns residing in Pakistan, if the latter is how most wish to be seen, I do not take offense to it, for I believe all people have the right to self-determinism as previously mentioned.
