Don't be surprised when people don't get past the preface. That line about people ceasing to be Muslims if they give preference to man-made laws stopped me from reading further because in a nutshell the tone of the book was set. From my understanding most traffic laws are man-made. You don't stop being Muslim for abiding by these rules.

Simply put, given the choices that most of us have, it's not a question of whether we 'prefer' man-made versus Shariah, it's simply that we are not in a position to break down the social and legal structures around us. Especially for Muslims living in the West. On a reflex level many Muslims would opt for Shariah and have done so through the means available to them. On a rational level, many are conflicted, however, because of the examples presented to us.

If aspects of Shariah can be understood and applied differently by individuals many of whom may mean well, what is to say their interpretations don't fall into the category of being man-made?

Where does it say in the book that you shouldn't obey traffic laws?

Maybe it is better to read and understand what is considered man-made laws.

        I will help you out:

In the context of Shariah, man-made law is any law that contradicts what Allah has revealed.

Now, if traffic law contradicts Allah's law then, obeying it will be obviously kufr.

Since this is not the case, there is no need to act all emotional. Grow up.

^Whilst living in Europe, are there are many laws that your conscience is opposed to? If so, do you speak up publicly, or go out of your way to openly break them? It must be one or the other because if not, you are passively accepting these man-made laws. I don't think that arguing that you only follow select rules and ignore the others counts because Holland is neither a stronghold of Shariah and nor is it possible to live in any system, Shariah-compliant or otherwise, by opting in and out of the law on a selective basis.

Does this conflict with your own definition of being a Muslim?

You realized you said something that didn't make any sense and you passed out your judgement about the book without even understanding what is being said.

So now you are turning this around and going off topic by involving my personal situation here.

But I will answer your question anyway.

Knowing the difference between shariah and man-made laws is an issue related to the creed of a Muslim. If one knows and believes that the laws in most parts of the world contradict the Sharia, one can avoid them by not seeking judgement from courts of taghoot, for instance. One can choose not to participate in activities where acts of kufr are involved: such as voting, taking part in democratic process, occupying jobs where laws of taghoot are implemented.

Ideally, one needs to move to a place where there is more freedom and where one can live freely without being compelled to accept laws of taghoot.

I personally don't accept jobs in places where I know I have to work with things that contradict my religion.

I have never pleaded allegiance to the constitution of this country, neither did I have to do anything else that constitutes kufr. In Holland, pleading allegiance to the constitution is not required for citizenship.

So I am by no means compelled to do that. I don't buy a house where I have to take a mortgage, I don't borrow money from the bank etc.

Great. You should become a politician.
You realize that man-made laws are not that different from sharia law. you can't kill, you can't steal, etc. in the kaafir's religion, the rules are the same. cover yourself, no adultery, no pre-marital sex, no killing, no stealing, etc. How are we becoming kaafir by including sharia laws into man-made laws. I'm saying, sharia law was made so everybody had justice. in our times, that is impossible because everyone is corrupt.

And thank you. I do like politics. I just don't like the corruption, lying, stealing, and backbiting that comes with it.

Shariah lawa is also man made. Its just choosing between 1400 year old laws and laws that fit the modern age.

Because its just a book. An old book. Out of his arabic context your book makes no sense. With his inhuman punishments such as flogging, stoning, chopping off hands, beheading,..

Narrated Anas: The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.
                        Sahih Bukhari 7:71:590

Narrated Anas:Some people from the tribe of 'Ukl came to the Prophet and embraced Islam. The climate of Medina did not suit them, so the Prophet ordered them to go to the (herd of milch) camels of charity and to drink, their milk and urine (as a medicine).
                        Sahih Bukhari 8:82:794

A group of people from 'Ukl (tribe) came to the Prophet and they were living with the people of As-Suffa, but they became ill as the climate of Medina did not suit them, so they said, "O Allah's Apostle! Provide us with milk." The Prophet said, I see no other way for you than to use the camels of Allah's Apostle." So they went and drank the milk and urine of the camels, (as medicine) and became healthy and fat. Then they killed the shepherd and took the camels away. When a help-seeker came to Allah's Apostle, he sent some men in their pursuit, and they were captured and brought before mid day. The Prophet ordered for some iron pieces to be made red hot, and their eyes were branded with them and their hands and feet were cut off and were not cauterized. Then they were put at a place called Al-Harra, and when they asked for water to drink they were not given till they died. (Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder and fought against Allah and His Apostle.")
                        Sahih Bukhari 8:82:796

Anas b. Malik reported that some people belonging (to the tribe) of 'Uraina came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) at Medina, but they found its climate uncongenial. So Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to them: If you so like, you may go to the camels of Sadaqa and drink their milk and urine. They did so and were all right.
                        Sahih Muslim 16:4130

"A tradtionalist told me from one who had told him from Muhammad b. Talha from Uthman v. Abdul-Rahman that in the raid of Muharib and B. Thalaba the apostle had captured a slave called Yasar, and he put him in charge of his milch-camels to shepherd them in the neighborhood of al-Jamma. Some men of Qays of Kubba of Bajila came to the apostle suffering from an epidemic and enlarged spleens, and the apostle told them that if they went to the milch camels and drank their milk and their urine they would recover, so off they went.

A weak hadeeth is still considered valid in islamic law according to some schools.

Drinking camel urine can be discussed in a seperate thread if you wish.

                            Please stop zancho-gari.

They are kuffr. They sit down and let Hindu Panj baboonian ruled Pakistan bomb Muslim Waziristan etc no Jehad etc. Same with you? You watch and sit down and let US/NATO bomb Afghanistan and the Tajik-Uzbek-Hazara Northern alliance side with them no Jehad lol. Talibans in power, got their order by Hindu Panj baboonian Pakistanis, no wisdom at all.

I feel not sad for these people, they choice their own path. I feel more sad about my motherland, the soil they live on, how much they have hurt her. Our motherland didn't have a choice.
