Tajiks from Shamali and around Kabul have always fought for independence of Afghanistan and have been part in all three Anglo-Afghan Wars.

We should be clear about it:
Shah Shuja, Karzai, Najib, Mullah Omar and many other Pashtuns on foreign payrole weren´t Tajiks.

It´s time get over our complexes and stop blaming our shortcomings on Tajiks or anyone else.

Uniting with people who speak the same language as you do, hold on to the same customs as you do and lead the same way of life as you,....which is basically what Pashtunwali is about, is a form of a proto-national worldview.
Nationalism is all about that: uniting people of the same heritage and language under one banner.

The nationalists who use "Pashtunwali" as the basis for their approach towards unifing the pashtun nation are absolutly right in what their goal is. They just lack the methods and the understanding of current world affairs, politics and economics to achieve what they want to achieve.

If you go back to even the time of the Mongol, Greek, and Persian wars in Afghanistan, the Tajiks (and their predecessors- the Soghdians) always supported the foreigners whereas the Pashtuns fought to the death, dealing defeat, after struggling to attain it.

Karzai main backers are Tajiks straight out of Panjshir - Fahim, Rabbani, Ismail Khan, the list can go on and on. Dadfar is his main security advisor- and the one who wants the US/NATO war to carry on - another Tajik.

The ANA is a Tajik army. ANP is Tajik. The NDS is filled with Tajiks to the brim.
