If not listening to Bollywood on their iPods, middle class Lahori youth play Bassant and dance the bhangra. This does not remind me of Arabs or Central Asia.
My family has never celebrated basant or dance bhangra?

The only thing Arab about Punjabis is the religion, nothing else.

I am not arguing that we are outsiders. I'm firmly standing by the theory that we are the sons of the soil.

Flying kites is a big part of Punjabi culture, but it has been banned by government. What I want to know is why do Indian Punjabis not fly kites today?

The older generation of Indian Punjabis, I can understand with no problems, but the dialects and some words that current generation use is completely different.

    That is due to separation.

      This is from the article

"There are a number of communities in North India, that claim kinship with the Arain of Punjab. The Arain of Delhi claim to be descended from Arains who settled in Delhi during the rule of the Mughal Emperor Akbar.[15]
Another community that is connected with the Arain are the Rayeen, who are a Muslim tribe found in Bareilly, Pilibhit, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital, Rampur, Bijnor and Saharanpur districts of Uttar Pradesh, India."
Bro, have these claims been scientifically proven?

I mean, I'm not much into race or anything because I believe all humans are related to each other anyway. But in all my life, I am curious as to know why I have never met an Arain from India, or seen one on tv, or anything?

^Maybe kites are banned elsewhere too.

About the last point. I already mentioned this in my first post. Punjabis in Pakistan are being culturally separated from their language and culture. Maybe they are happy participants in their complacency. The worst thing is when they expect others to do the same.

As far as I know, Indian Punjabis follow our poets and philosophers. It's not the other way around.

They use words like Raab and Khuda, but we don't use words like Bhaghwan or Waheguru.

If you think our culture is the same as theirs, you can provide examples other than bollywood. From my understanding bollywood is popular in KPK and Afghanistan as well.

At the end of the day you will believe what you want to believe. This has less to do with me giving you examples. You know your connections to Punjab better than I do. As for the Bagwaan/Khuda debate, neither is popular with the "Allah Hafiz" brigade. One is Indian in origin (and therefore 'Hindu') the other is Persian (and therefore 'Zoarostrian').

As I understand it the classical poets etc are the same for both. What you appear not to realise is that your own cultural identity has been changed for you and you assume that India is borrowing from Pakistan when in fact the architects in power in Pakistan need to keep up this facade of difference to justify the raison d'etre.

how many indians have you met in life? there are thousands of different groups of indians, out of which you have probably met only a few.

I have met a Arian family who migrated from UP India

Also what's so special about Arians? how are they different from any other Rajput clans found in Pakistan/North India

I have met a fair share of Indians in the west, and I was just curious.

There is nothing special about us, we are just Muslim Punjabis. I have just never heard about our people being from anywhere other than what is present day Pakistan, or border cities of India.

My grandmother's brother was captured by these hindus. They cut his tongue while he was a child. He still live in my maternal house. You pashtuns can have your own country, but don't try to put us with these hindus. My grandmother's other brother killed 17 sikhs, and he wished he killed more. We are musalmaan, so we will never live with these kaafirs.
i understand your point. Many muslim punjabis during partation were killed and looted.
I was just giving you an example from history.
If we get pashtunistan then i do,nt see any reason why would we oppose your country.

Don't know why would any body want to be called iranian,Arab or central asian.

                    what makes them superior?

Indians are far ahead of any of them and has a extremely bright future and even in the present state they are better than them.

I have never been to iran but considering my experience in Arab country. They are one of the most lazy and useless people to be found. They are not Good at anything.

100 years before,They were the world most poorest people on earth. They didnt even had clean water drinking facilities and nothing at all.were living like animals.

I don't know but only a foolish person will want to be associated with Iranian or arabs. They are even worse than Indians.its always better to be called a indian than Arab with no future at all

Woow, you are really try to DO ANYTHING to make you non Hindus. I see 100 % Hindustani people from Punjab province in this video bright and clear as the black and white colours. And they show how people work, not their culture you poor thing. If you go back 100 years to Villages in China, Russia, America, Japan, Ottoman Empire etc all worked almost the same as they do in this video. So much identity crises people on this Forum.

I mean mentally ill low life people come here on Pashtun forum, telling us what is what and insult Pashtuns. "I live in Pakistan, I am a Punjab, but I am not an Indian. I am Punjab. Pakistan Zindabad and so on. " ???????????????????? What the?

Ok mr Punjab. Go to Punjab forum find your friends there. I don't join other forums and insult them there.

Don't forget, Pashtunistan/Afghanistan has Pashto ANTHEM and PASHTO AS OFFICIAL LANGUAGE. You all foreign arguments about things like, Pashto multi nationality like American-Pashtun, Iranian Pashtun, Indian-Pashtun, German-Pashtun, Pakistan Pashtun etc and Durrand line, etc are invalid here on Pashtunforums, you can't fake facts. Real Pashtuns don't marry outsiders because REAL PASHTUNS ARE TO PROUD TO mix their bloodline and that is a FACT COMING FROM majority of our parents MOUTH and THOUGHTS.

A nice film which confirms what has already been said. Whether this video was filmed in the West or the East is anyone's guess, but I would describe the people there as Indic looking. What their religion is isn't that obvious. That is a detail that would matter more to you than me of course.

Typical indic/desi culture and people in the video. Indic people are diverse and has many colours e.g punjabis, sindhis, biharis, bengalis, tamils, gujratis etc....Pakistani punjab and sindh are parts of al-hind. You people are hindi muslims.

Just check the thread I made a while back, India 100 years back and see how similar the video is to that: http://www.pashtunforums.com/art-photography/20381.htm

How can you deny your links to India and too hinduism as well? what were Punjabis before Islam? I mean you guys still follow the Zaat/Caste system for crying out loud and still have Rajput, Jat, Gujjar, dalit etc..... names and identity which all have hindu origins. How stupid can you get bro?

Also how in the world would you find Hinduism or any religion in agriculture fields? Go to any north indian village and it will be 100% same as your video

Go to Lahore and see how many of the things are still named by their former hindu names, of course many of the names are changed now, but you will still find them
