This is done with help of the Haqqanis, who provide GPS coordinates to the Paki Frontier Corps for shelling. The ISI told them: you either help us or we kick you out.

Shame on these people for betraying their country.

What was the reason?Pakistan didn't just shell Afghanistan for the heck of it, there must have been a reason, probably TTP militants were entering Pakistan through the Afghanistan border after they were trained by the NDS.

Afghans have always hated Pakistan, they don't need a reason, an Afghan friend of mines told me that Afghans are born with hate for Pakistan.

First of all, this is just further proof that the strategic pact agreement between Karzai and the US is all nonsense.

In this tissue paper SPA signed in 2012, its states that the US will "defend" Afghanistan from foreign aggression. Even before the US/NATO exit in 2014, they are legally obligated by their OWN LAWS to take military action against Pakistan. Even as they claim that they are now going for the "zero option"/exit, they are still mandated by the UN Mandate and their strategic pact agreement to take military action against Pakistan.

This is the third documented Pakistani missile strike on Afghan territory, and there is no US military response.

The real reasons behind these missile strikes by both Iran and Pakistan is obvious - to prove that the US words of "defending" Afghanistan are meaningless. Twisted, right? Thats the only reason these missile strikes are occurring at this time- to the show that the pledges of US/NATO are never to be taken seriously.

US/NATO is conducting airstrikes that result in civilian casualties on a regular basis, so it is absurd that US/NATO would "defend" Afghanistan from similar missile strikes by either Pakistan (who they depend on for NATO supplies) or Iran (who they are hesitant to get into a military confrontation with, and are desperately trying to prevent an Israeli-Iran conflict). Their words are meaningless.

Several years before the US/NATO war began, in 1998, the Iranian Army lined up on the border of Afghanistan as they were on the verge of war with Afghanistan (which was then ruled by the Taliban). Iran backed away from the border and hype. They didnt conduct any missile strikes, and did not send any troops across the border.

All the BSA does is prevent Afghans from defending themselves.

Going on Shah-i-Kot's tangent, you could also say that NATO may have coerced the Pakistani Army to rough up the Afghan border patrol a bit. It does put more pressure on karzai and more so from his own army to finalize this deal, essentially what US is saying is sign the deal or its open season.

This is sort of hypocritical because as Khushal mentions even having that BSA pact wont do them any good since it never has in the past.

Cross-border shelling usually gets reported across the board, I find it strange only this kpress is reporting. Tolo would jump at something like this yet they got nothing. Hold judgement till something concrete gets reported.

                              Precisely.

It will just make Afghans more lazy and thus will become dependant on foreign occupation to help them all the time.
