Afganistán Insecure with U.S boots, says Karzai

Kabul, Dec 10 (Prensa Latina) Afghan President Hamid Karzai reiterated its decision to postpone the signing of a bilateral treaty with the United States to argue that foreign troops will only cause more insecurity in the civilian population. Unlike the Pentagons assertion that its presence will safeguard the stability of the Asian country, Karzai says the opposite and even that it threatens the entire region.

With 84,000 NATO troops in Afghanistan, two-thirds of U.S. population, the controversial bilateral agreement provides for the permanence of northern military beyond 2014, in which the withdrawal of occupant International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is expected.

It also includes sections very difficult to accept, as immunity for U.S. soldiers who have committed punishable offenses under Afghan law and permission to raid houses when they want to

On 19 November last, the Afghan president said that the troops of the Pentagon disturb the order with its interference in the affairs of the local police and the army, and retain important supplies as a way to pressure the signing of the bilateral agreement.

The bilateral agreement is paramount for the Pentagon, as well as ensures the possibility of success in military or intelligence operations in the region.

For this reason, neighboring Iran rejects the realization of the covenant as expressed by a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which said that the agreement did not create a benefit for the Afghan government and the nation.

If the agreement goes through, the United States will keep nine permanent military bases in Afghanistan, which borders China, Pakistan, Iran and the former Soviet republics of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

If you could understand thugs like him, then why do you have a hard time understanding the insurgency. The insurgency exists because thugs like him are in power.

well you just admitted that the warlord in question was honest so you think they are better. I am not preferring anyone but the evidence suggests that the Taliban have the moral highground against the warlords. The warlords are protected by US superior firepower otherwise they would be gone in a snap since they have no moral legs to stand on.

Taliban are fighting the invaders from their land while warlords of the NA are working with them. Warlords have committed more war crimes then the taliban because of ethnic issues. Warlords made a choice in killing and compete for power and control with other warlords while the taliban were formed from remants of mujhadeen who were fighting the soviets.

The Talibs are a warlord faction as well. But since they had backing of Pakistan and Saudis, most other warlords without that support decided to 'join' them. Of course, only as long as they received bribe money. The Taliban state collapsed like a house of cards, because it wasn't built on loyalty.
