counting all votes (according to TOLO) from all provinces Abdullah gets at all 32% of votes and Ghani 9% but I am sure if Shamshad would do such a survey Ghani would have 32% and Abdullah only 9%Originally posted by Badlun View PostCan anyone share region wise population density data. If Ashraf Ghani has more percentage in a more densely populated area then he may outnumber his rival where the rival has more percentage.
For me both Abullah and Ghani are good candidates. I know Ghani personally and he is not bad. His alliance with Dostum will help him as evident from the survey to garb votes from non Pashtuns.
What about the stature of Ghanis's second VP Mr. Sarwar Danish?

Haha. Made me laugh!Originally posted by khushal View PostShamlawar's comments about abdullahx2 is all flawed. His mom is Pashtun and father is panjshiri. everyone knows this.True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us. - Socrates

How can someone identify them .
Most of them have last name like iranians.
Only ahmadzais, sherzai, karzai and liwal seems pashtuns the rest belong to the persain school.
Whoever become the next leader lets hope for peace in afghanistan.
Double abdullah will be the next leader of afghanistan.
Pashtun vote is divided this time.
Ghani can not make it so as qaum karzai and sayaf.
Ghani will get some support in his native logar and uzbik dominated areas cus he team with dostum.
Kayum karzai and sherzai will divide the kandahari vote and south.
Few other pashtuns will also divide pashtun vote.
Finally abdullah punjsheri will become the next leader of the nation.
Already punjsheris rule so this time let them come to the top job.
Also pashtuns can not win without the support of none pashtuns.
Many did,nt vote in the last election in pashtun south.
Pashtu speaking are no longer majority in afghanistan so in democracy you need them.

Support pashto language and greater pukhtoonkhwa.

As there is a trend in Pakistan that we are just Pakistanis, no Pashtun, Baloch, Punjabi or Sindhi, similarly in Afghanistan the trend is towards Afghaniyat not Pashtunwali and you will find few Pashtuns talking on Pashtun nationalism in Afghanistan. The end Pashto, Pashtun and Pashtunwali suffer.Originally posted by Tiger Khan View PostPashtuns should only come up with one candidate.. or two max.. I am sure Tajiks would come out with max a couple... pashtun should not let their vote divided.
In Afghanistan non Pashtuns especially Tajiks are shrewd who usually do not talk of Tajik nationalism but Persian prevail everywhere.
Pashtun voters are also misguided by Taliban who consider elections either shirk or of no significance and thus the power balance is tilted more towards non Pashtuns.

After a three-day delay, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced the initial list of Presidential candidates for the spring elections. Out of 26 candidates, the IEC disqualified 16 from running and approved 10. Nearly all of the most prominent names that registered for the elections made the cut.
The following names were included by the IEC in the preliminary list of 2014 Presidential candidates:
1. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and runner-up in the 2009 elections
2. Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf, former Jihadi leader and MP
3. Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, former chairman of the security transition process and former presidential candidate
4. Gul Agha Shirzai, former Minister of Urban Development and Governor of Nangarhar
5. Qayoum Karzai, brother of President Hamid Karzai
6. Dr. Zalmai Rassoul, former Minister of Foreign Affairs
7. Abdul Rahim Wardak, former Minister of Defense
8. Qutbuddin Hilal, member of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin faction
9. Hedayat Amin Arsala, former Presidential Advisor
10. Sardar Muhammad Nader Naeem, nephew of former Afghan President Mohammad Daoud Khan
i believe all candidates except abdullah, is pashtun. There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.
