Please stop being a drama queen. For the last two centuries, Pashtuns did not rule Afghanistan through popular vote.

Northern alliance is a political movement. They have at least 30 years of history. Many northerns support them and consider them to be their leaders. Maybe not all of them, but quite a substantial figure of residents in the North would vote for a hermaphrodite like Abdullahx2 while very few Pashtuns would vote for Ashraf Ghani because they barely know him. Ashraf Ghani doesn't even have a real political party. Ahadi's party is divided and very unpopular among Pashtuns.

In the last election only 15% haven't voted in the Pashtun regions.
Oh really? Please give me your source for this figure?

This time maybe 10% won't be able to vote.
    Wishful thinking.

What you call as shirk is a national decision.
Even if its the entire worlds decision, if Allah says in Qur'an that its shirk, then its shirk.

We even ask you fundamentalists to come up with your candidates or to join us.
No thank you, I rather worship Allah. We fundamentalists have our fundaments, Quran and Sunnah for guidance. Thats sufficient for us.

But I think majority of people won't vote for combatants
You think so, but many did vote for warlords and combatants in the past.

so you call this shirk when it is not
Maybe in your religion it is not shirk, but in Islam it is shirk. http://www.pashtunforums.com/showthread.php?t=39309

but killing innocent people, collecting their harps and money, running dtug-trades etc is really shirk.
Well stop killing innocent people and drug trade. But no, killing is not shirk in Islam. Its a major sin but shirk is worse than killing innocent people.

Someone should hold a mirror to you so you can meet the real and only shirk
Oh so I am shirk as a person? Do you even know what shirk means?

Mr. Ahady lacks of support from non-Pashtuns due his ideology
Does he lack support or he doesn't have any support? Which one is it?

and Mr. Ahmadzai may share somehow the same ideology, but he is still a technocrat with Farsiwan-relatives.
He is an American hermaphrodite who recently decided to grow a beard and put on a turban in order to gain credibility among men and maybe votes in future.

Technocrat means non-politically affiliated public servant. He is politically affiliated to America. The reason why he was given the role of transfer of power agent is to allow him to create a relationship with the media and the people so that he may win the elections.

He is in reality nothing more than what Karzai was for the past 12 years.

This shirk is the only way to prevent a new civil war.
Yes, so in order to prevent war we must commit shirk and leave the fold of Islam otherwise we will be in trouble. Basically you are repeating the same arguments the mushrikeen had when the Prophets warned them about shirk.

If it comes out the election is full of frauds, the result would be the same. Play dirty as possible your role, but don't cheat. The election itself is a war.
Playing dirty and cheating are two seperate things? Wow.

      Dear Mr. Khurasani,

''Northern Alliance'' haven´t exist prior 1997. In pre-1997 various faction was fighting eachother from the day of Russian invasion. The northern people lack of political party traditions as southern people do. However, people are going right now through a process to learn this, maybe northern people a bit more than southern people. It is the reason why we are messed up with 1000s of parties. You also forget that in 2009 20% of all votes came from The Hazara and Uzbek minorities (Khalili is still an ally of us) and 1/3 votes of Our Excellency Mr. Hamid Karzai came from the Tajik tribe (due Mr. Qasim Fahim´s support), particularely from shamali plains and Herat. So, there are still allies. Mr. Abdullah have a wider support among northern people but you give him to much credite. It rumors that northern leaders are thinking to marginalize Abdullah and replace him with someone else, someone from their own ranks, as their common candidate. Some youngsters called recently Abdullah Abdullah a wolf in a sheep´s skin and a fascist. I don´t know how stupid these people are but your fear that those northern parties are allied or united is not true. If this rumor is true Abdullah is no more any opposition. He also wants Ahady as his 1rd vice-President.

Where in the Quran it is attested that elections are shirk? Where is the difference between a Jirga or an election where people vote their own leaders, except that elections include millions of more people than a Jirga, a representative house? You just call it shirk because a Jirga or elections won´t give you the confidence to win. If you feel better don´t call it election but a national jirga. You are still free to join the election and bring up a candidate. Maybe you will be able to gain a large vote despite suicide bombers and wasteless killings. Afghanistan was the first state ever in 1747 that had a democratic election.

Well stop killing innocent people and drug trade. But no, killing is not shirk in Islam. Its a major sin but shirk is worse than killing innocent people.
      wait! http://centralasiaonline.com/en_GB/a.../13/feature-01

Who is responsible for these if not insurgents? Therefore I said one need to hold you a mirror infront of your face. But we still ask you to join the elections and get your confidence fairly

People vote for warlords and combatants because they fought and struggled for their rights and communities. Taliban are fighting for foreigners. They are tools of rupees and USD. Those warlords today secure Afghanistan. What do Taliban except killing, roadside bombs, killing children, keeping Pashtun mass away from education and hospitals?

Mr. Ahady´s support among the northern people is very tiny. Not that much. Only Mr. Qanuni, Mr. Khalili and Mr. Saleh can be called as his ally.

Yes, so in order to prevent war we must commit shirk and leave the fold of Islam otherwise we will be in trouble.
What is your solution? Giving free access to you to impose yourself again as proxy forces on Afghanistan backed and supported by Pakistan and Saudis?

Playing dirty and cheating are two seperate things? Wow.
How did Mullah Omar (Pakistan) played it or the ancient caliphs? Mullah Omar devided people, too, so the caliphs which resulted into weakening their opponents. Playing dirty is for example calling those Jihadists in Kabul the slayer of Afghan people or deviding them but cheating is creating something new or hiding information or doing frauds.

Jamiate Islami is the head of northern alliance. It exists for more than 30 years.

You can play games and pretend you dont know what I am talking about but that doesn't change the realities on the ground.

They are far more organized and grounded among their "constituency" if even you can call it like that than Ashraf Ghani or anybody else for that matter.

The northern people lack of political party traditions as southern people do.
        Oh yea?

However, people are going right now through a process to learn this, maybe northern people a bit more than southern people.
You said first that they lack political party tradition. And in the next sentence you contradict yourself by saying they are learning and are further ahead.

It is the reason why we are messed up with 1000s of parties.
Now you are basically admitting that I was right.

You also forget that in 2009 20% of all votes came from The Hazara and Uzbek minorities (Khalili is still an ally of us)
Proof? Or is it some figure you just invented?

and 1/3 votes of Our Excellency Mr. Hamid Karzai came from the Tajik tribe (due Mr. Qasim Fahim´s support)
Where do you get this data from? And since when are Tajiks a tribe?

particularely from shamali plains and Herat.

Data, produce data. Nobody is interested in your fabrication of statistics.

. Mr. Abdullah have a wider support among northern people but you give him to much credite
        .

        No I didnt.

It rumors that northern leaders are thinking to marginalize Abdullah and replace him with someone else, someone from their own ranks, as their common candidate.
Rumors are no evidence. And if it was so, you are not responding to any of my previous points instead you are concocting false data and spreading rumors.

Some youngsters called recently Abdullah Abdullah a wolf in a sheep´s skin and a fascist.
How does this relate to any of my previous points?

Is this your way of dodging a debate by just posting random information?

I don´t know how stupid these people are but your fear that those northern parties are allied or united is not true. If this rumor is true Abdullah is no more any opposition.

They are internally divided but that still doesn't make them as weak as Ahadi and Ashraf Ghani.

Bashardost who is practically a nobody can beat Ahadi and Ashraf Ghani together. Fact, go check previous election data.

Where in the Quran it is attested that elections are shirk?

See the link I posted with sufficient information why democracy and elections are shirk akbar.

Where is the difference between a Jirga or an election where people vote their own leaders, except that elections include millions of more people than a Jirga, a representative house?
Read the link I posted to the other thread.

You just call it shirk because a Jirga or elections won´t give you the confidence to win.
        Childish and irrational response.

If you feel better don´t call it election but a national jirga.
You can call poop food and eat it but it still doesn't make it food.

Afghanistan was the first state ever in 1747 that had a democratic election.
Sure, Afghanistan also exists for 5000 years and we are Aryans and etc etc. More fabrications and lies to make yoursefl feel good.

        Propaganda.

Who is responsible for these if not insurgents?
        You.

Therefore I said one need to hold you a mirror infront of your face. But we still ask you to join the elections and get your confidence fairly

Who are you to ask? You are paid by the Americans. You cant even wipe your behind without handouts from Americans. Who are you to invite anybody anywhere?

People vote for warlords and combatants because they fought and struggled for their rights and communities.
        So that makes it legit?
        Taliban are fighting for foreigners.

You know if you drive by past poor neighborhoods in car around maghreb, you see often prostitutes infront of grocery shops. Sometimes they get angry with customers of grocery shops and start shouting names.

When they are angry, the call random people "w.hor.e!" While everybody knows what they do for living.

When someone who calls Karzai "majesty" claiming taliban work for foreigners, it is basically the same as those prostitutes calling other people "w.hor.e!"

They are tools of rupees and USD. Those warlords today secure Afghanistan.
Yes, just like your Cabinet member Bismillah Khan is doing bacha bazi, right?

What do Taliban except killing, roadside bombs, killing children, keeping Pashtun mass away from education and hospitals?
        You are lying.

Mr. Ahady´s support among the northern people is very tiny. Not that much. Only Mr. Qanuni, Mr. Khalili and Mr. Saleh can be called as his ally.
Who cares? Irrelevant to my previous post.

What is your solution? Giving free access to you to impose yourself again as proxy forces on Afghanistan backed and supported by Pakistan and Saudis?

Pakistan and Saudi are both allies of America who receive billions of aid and military support from America.

How did Mullah Omar (Pakistan) played it or the ancient caliphs? Mullah Omar devided people, too, so the caliphs which resulted into weakening their opponents.
You are cirtiziging the Khulafah rashideen, you filthy rafidi shia.

I have met Aahadi and Ashraf Ghani. They are good Pashtuns and speak Pashto publicly. I have never heard Zalmay khalilzad speaking Pashto.

Does he know Pashto? If yes then why he avoids speaking Pashto at least publicly?

badlun, i command you to refer to karzai as "our excellency"
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

This is truly pathetic and highly lamentable that the foreign minister and presidential candidate of Afghanistan, the land of Afghans Mr Khalilzad even cannot speak its national and one of the official language of Afghanistan.

It means when the national anthem of Afghanistan will be recited , he will not understand it. And when a delegation from Kunar or Loy Paktya will meet him , he like Zahir Shah will need translators to talk to his own people.

What a lame excuse that Zalmey Khalilzad could not learn Pashto because he was busy. It means he did nopt feel real need of Pashto to conduct his official business and Pashto is only the language of Kochis and not the language of palace, office, media, commerce and court.

I will be wonder struck if Khalilzad gets a single vote from a single Pashtun.

AEA to Nominate Dr. Abdullah for Presidency: Reports

Er. Mohammad Asim, the head of the National Coalition Party (NCP) Secretariat, on Tuesday announced that the newly formed coalition- Afghanistan Electoral Alliance (AEA) has decided to nominate Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the leader of the National Coalition of Afghanistan (NCA), as the Presidential candidate for the next spring's election.

Mr. Asim further added that Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, the leader of the Hezb-e-Islami Party (HIP) and Hajji Muhammad Muhaqeq, the leader of the Hezb-e-Wahdat-e-Islami Mardom Afghanistan (HWIMA), will be nominated as the First Vice-President and Second Vice-President, respectively.

While, Mr. Asim said that the nominations would be finalized within the next two days, Hajji Muhammad Muhaqeq and Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal have not rejected the reports regarding the Presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, it is being reportedly said that Junbesh Milli Party (JMP) is the only party that has not agreed upon Dr. Abdullah's candidacy.

"All the members of the Afghanistan Electoral Alliance, except Junbesh-e-Milli has agreed on the candidacy of Dr. Abdullah Abdullah for Presidency, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal for the post of First Vice-President and Hajji Muhammad Muhaqeq for the post of Second Vice-President in the next year's election," said Er. Asim.

For several months, speculation over Dr. Abdullah's candidacy had been doing the rounds, finally it is confirmed that he will be one of the contenders in the 2014 Presidential race.

Er. Asim said that the members of the AEA unanimously agreed on nominating Dr. Abdullah Abdullah for Presidency, Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal as the First Vice-President, and Hajji Muhammad Muhaqeq as the Second Vice-President in the upcoming election. However, the formal announcement would be made by Thursday.

Mr. Muhaqeq said that he has tendered his resignation from his Lower House membership on Sunday and will contest for the post of Second Vice-President in the upcoming election.

"I have resigned from the Parliament on Sunday. I will contest for the post of Second Vice-President. But, the decision is not final. A final decision will be taken within a week," said Mr. Muhaqeq.

Meanwhile, Mr. Arghandiwal commented on the nominations saying that although, an agreement has been reached on his nomination as the First Vice-President, but the decision is not final.

"I have been nominated to contest for the post of First Vice-President. But, it is not a final decision and talks are underway," said Mr. Arghandiwal.

In the previous Presidential election, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah was one of the strongest contenders after President Karzai. But, when the election entered the second round, Dr. Abdullah refused to contest and accused the Independent Election Commission (IEC) of poll rigging to support Karzai.

Last month, a gathering of Afghan political figures officially announced to the public the formation of grand coalition called the "Afghanistan Electoral Alliance (AEA)," bringing together many of the most prominent political parties and leaders in Afghanistan under one banner.

The alliance has been formed by the Islamic People's Party (IPP), Wahdat-e-Islami Party, National Movement of Afghanistan (NMA), National Coalition of Afghanistan (NCA), National Front Party (NFP), Afghanistan Green Trend (AGT), Afghanistan Naween (AN), Hezb-e-Wahdat, Iqtidar-e-Millie, Itehad-i-Aqwam and Coordination Council of Arab People (CCAP).

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, leader of the NCA; Atta Muhammad Noor, Governor of Balkh province; Haji Mohammad Mohaqeq, leader of the IPP; Abdul Rasheed Dostum, head of the Junbesh Milli Party (JMP); Salahuddin Rabbani, acting head of the Jameyat Party (JP); Amrullah Saleh, former Director of the National Directorate of Security (NDS); Ahmad Zia Massood, head of the NFP; and Muhammad Younus Qanooni, a member of the JP, were some of the prominent political leaders who attended the meeting and signed the agreement solidifing newly formed alliance.

Afghan Ethnic Hazara Leader to Run for Vice President
                          Mohammed Mohaqeq Resigns From Parliament

                          By YAROSLAV TROFIMOV CONNECT
KABUL—Afghanistan's ethnic Hazara leader Mohammed Mohaqeq has resigned from parliament to run in next spring's elections as a vice presidential candidate, in the first major move of political coalitions' coalescing ahead of the Oct. 6 deadline to formally register candidacies.

President Hamid Karzai is prohibited by the constitution from running for a third term in the April election, and he hasn't formally endorsed a preferred successor.

The entire tickets of a presidential candidate and two hopeful vice presidents must be registered by Oct. 6. With coalition bargaining under way, no prominent Afghan politicians filed their nomination papers since the registration began more than a week ago.

Votes by supporters of Mr. Mohaqeq, a major warlord during Afghanistan's civil war and a fierce opponent of the Taliban who narrowly survived an assassination attempt in June, were instrumental in securing Mr. Karzai's re-election in 2009. Mr. Mohaqeq turned against Mr. Karzai in following years, accusing the Afghan president of failing to deliver on his promises, and has joined hands with opposition leaders.

In an interview Tuesday, Mr. Mohaqeq declined to confirm Afghan news reports that he will run as a vice presidential candidate with former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, Mr. Karzai's main challenger in the 2009 election.

"Various political sides are making efforts to form their teams. Creating those teams is not an easy job," Mr. Mohaqeq said. "It's too soon to say with which team I will align myself."

Mr. Abdullah's spokesman, Fazlurrahman Orya, said consultations are under way, and Mr. Abdullah's entire presidential ticket should be determined next week.

Economic Minister Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, who leads the legal faction of the Hezb-e-Islami party founded by Islamist warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, also declined to confirm reports that he would become Mr. Abdullah's other running mate. "Negotiations are under way… It's still unclear who Hezb-e-Islami's candidate will be," he told Afghanistan's Tolo News TV channel Tuesday.

Mr. Karzai, an ethnic Pashtun, had two vice presidents—representing, respectively, the ethnic Tajik and ethnic Hazara minorities—during both of his terms.

The Hazaras account for some 9% of Afghanistan's population, according to the Central Intelligence Agency. They are, however, a much stronger electoral force because of traditionally high turnout in ethnic Hazara areas. In the mixed province of Ghazni, for example, all 11 parliament seats went to the Hazara candidates in the 2010 parliamentary elections, in part because Taliban violence disrupted the vote in ethnic Pashtun parts of the province.

Afghan election officials expect the Taliban attempts to derail the April vote to be even more violent than during the 2009 and 2010 elections.

While Mr. Karzai hasn't officially backed anyone in the April race, he has publicly named former Islamist warlord Abdul Rasoul Sayyaf, foreign minister Zalmai Rassoul and transition adviser Ashraf Ghani as likely presidential candidates. Mr. Karzai's brother Qayum Karzai is also considering a presidential bid, as are several opposition politicians.

Candidates who win overt or tacit backing by Mr. Karzai are expected to enjoy the support of Afghanistan's government machinery, a crucial advantage in the race that many politicians fear will be even more fraud-ridden than the 2009 election. More than a million votes, most of them cast for Mr. Karzai, were thrown out as fraudulent by an independent election watchdog at the time.

Altogether, some 65 presidential hopefuls have picked up nomination information booklets from Afghanistan's electoral commission by Tuesday, said commission spokesman Noor Mohammad Noor. To get on the ballot, candidates must receive 100,000 nomination signatures by the Oct. 6 deadline.

Only one candidate submitted registration papers so far, Mr. Noor said. The candidate, Bismillah Shir, is a little-known politician who came 21st in the 2009 election, garnering 0.1% of the national vote.

This looks like a pro iran-russia-india team.

Lets assume the elections are fair and everybody gets the opportunity to vote. Still it is highly unlikely for abdullah to win.

It means Abdullah Abdullah is emerging the strongest candidate so far?

Alas the same may not happen with Pashtuns again

The Hazaras account for some 9% of Afghanistan's population, according to the Central Intelligence Agency. They are, however, a much stronger electoral force because of traditionally high turnout in ethnic Hazara areas. In the mixed province of Ghazni, for example, all 11 parliament seats went to the Hazara candidates in the 2010 parliamentary elections, in part because Taliban violence disrupted the vote in ethnic Pashtun parts of the province.

                                Badlun,

Abdullah is definitely the strongest contender. Many media Afghan news sites are reporting that he even got the backing of Fahim and Ismael Khan.

Karzai's and Mr. Bostan's team's candidacy of Zalmay Rasoul is in tatters.

Alliances change like sand in Afghanistan and the recent shift as alluded above of Fahim and Ismael Khan endorsing Abdullah's candidacy further validate Zalmay Rasoul's candidacy as a specious move by Karzai. Bostan's entire theory of dividing the opposition and how deep Zalmay Rasoul has roots among Pashtuns is nothing but pulled from thin air. It is almost certain that Hezb-i-Islami rather support Abdullah x 2. So much for his roots.

It is indeed a sad scenario emerging. I concur with brother randolph that we may indeed be for a rude awakening. Ashraf Ghani would have been a much better choice, but Karzai chose to back a lame ass guy who he hopes to serve as his puppet.
