However when another ethnic group then - instead of having to wait for 60 years like Pashtun - demands an entirely new province for themselves is that fair?
Nor will this right to create provinces be given to any non-Punjabis.
The other problem is that some majority Pashtun areas would be included in this Hazara province, Pashtuns who do not want to be part of it.
This also (unless I'm wrong) affects the income/revenue the Pashtuns of KPK get as the hydroelectric dam is in the proposed Hazara province, thus making Pashtuns poorer.
This event (creation of a Hazara province) could pauperize Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Anyway Hazaras have in fact had it good under the KPK government.
But when one looks at history, nothing of that sort has happened, in fact since independence, Hazara Division has had the honor of claiming the highest number of Chief Ministers than any other division in the former NWFP. These include Sardar Bahadur Khan (1955), Muhammad Iqbal Khan Jadoon (1977), Pir Sabir Shah (1994), and Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi (1999). Incidentally all four were from the Hindko speaking minority
The ANP also never forced the learning of Pashto down anyone's threat and if anything Pashto - in terms of official status - is virtually non-existent in KPK and there is the slow but gradual linguistic de-Pashtunization of Pashtuns.
I speak as someone from a country whose identity, culture, language, economic and political rights were trampled on by the same feudal-military alliance that continues to rule Pakistan today.
