Why do we include Balochistan in a hypothetical Pashtunistan?

I saw Nuristanis on Afghan television a few times. They have some air time dedicated to them with news or cultural events in their own language. Nuristanis are not as light as people make them out to be on the internet, lol. There was once a user here from Kunar who was brought up in Afghanistan and he said something along the lines of Nuristanis on the whole are dark when compared with Pashtuns.

Am I wrong in this anyone?

Nuristanis in general are lighter than pashtuns, but not by much. While nuristanis look like Europeans, Pashtuns tend to look like more like pale Hispanics for the most part. Also majority of nuristanis speak Pashto nowadays.

Okay, but where have you seen them? Do you know any Nuristanis in real life or are you just relying on pictures on google? Because the Pashtuns near those mountain regions are also very white. Also, years ago I was a bit unsure of the 'general' or 'common' look of Pashtuns because I only knew a few but after being invited to events in the West I saw that many Pashtuns look eastern European and it was hard to find a dark one, which was weird because it's not what you see in the news.

The media in general are not really reliable. I have never met a nuristani but Google images don't lie. Majority of Pashtuns have broad features and look very Hispanic, and a lot of them can pass as either Italian or Greek. My dad even passed for Russian once.

I haven't read all the responses yet but after a few pages, i am not convinced. if pashtuns have the right to the whole of balochistan simply because they are a majority in the region then the same logic would apply to tajiks having the right to northern afg because they are the majority. never mind the fact that having all pashtuns in one country would no little to nothing to solve the problems of pashtuns.

Google images do lie because they can do a lot of over-representing as certain photographers are biased and choose the most striking and white-looking Nuristanis to photograph. On the whole, believe me when I say they are not as light as people on the internet think and in fact a bit swarthy and Asiatic/Hispanic looking. I don't think Pashtuns on the whole look like Hispanics unless you're talking about the Hispanics that are descended from Spanish or Italians because Pashtuns are known for rather robust facial structures and long noses and faces.

You have a point here, but thinking all pashtuns look like that is also a bit over genrelazing. Take me for example, i have been mistakend for spanish countless times.

i guess these pashtuns weren't able to immigrate because i don't see them here in the west, and the ones i see who might resemble them are usually pashtun-tajik mixed.

Well, Kushan, no one is talking about you specifically, but just on the whole. It is possible to distinguish Pashtuns from most other ethnicities through a certain facial structure that happens to be prevalent among them. That's all.

By the way, Tajiks generally look like Mexicans. Not all, some are light. But most Tajiks look like Indians or Mexicans and are very dark. They used to consider Pashtuns as "maghbool" before the Soviet occupation. Although they were all prissy and tried to be as Western and modern as possible, it was common for them to awe at the beauty of rural Pashtuns who would sometimes travel to the city for work or study.

I only posted that photo to prove to RTR that pasthuns cannot only be dark but light as well. i believe pashtuns come in all shades light and brown. Some look like mexicans, some don't. Your the one implying all Pashtuns look white and nuristanis are darker than them. And what exactly are you, an African that speak pashto? Now that's a first.

Kushan, I never implied that they look like your average white American. Rather, most tend to look eastern-European, mediterranean/Jewish. Get out a little, to Afghanistan/Pakistan or even around in Canada and meet some Pashtuns. You can't just rely on google searches to form your opinions about everything.
