  • Afghan minister sees Pakistan as natural training ground for Afghan army

    http://www.thenews.com.pk/Todays-New...or-Afghan-army

ISLAMABAD: Afghan Defence Minister General Bismillah Khan termed Pakistan as a natural destination for training of Afghan National Security Forces.

“Thousands of Afghans are studying in civil institutions of Pakistan and attaining various degrees,” said General Khan during a visit of the Afghan defence delegation to one of the training institutions and facilities of Pakistan Army. “Many of Afghans are graduating from Pakistan as doctors and engineers,” he said.

Under such circumstances, Pakistan could be a natural destination for the ANSF personnel, too, he said. The Afghan defence delegation visited a number of training institutions and facilities of Pakistan Army. Military sources say that the Afghan delegates were impressed by the standard of training and questioned training of their forces by the Western countries in the presence of these facilities in Pakistan.

They appreciated the fact that the operational environment of Pakistan and Afghanistan was identical, hence, Pakistan provided for a natural professional training destination for Afghan officers and soldiers.

The Afghan delegation also highlighted the fact that the female members of ANSF were reluctant to go to any other country other than Pakistan. They said following this visit, it appears that Afghanistan has come to realise the centrality of Pakistan in peace and stability in Afghanistan. Border control methods also came under discussion and both sides agreed to continue high level exchanges to conclude various issues of common interest.

The delegates include Lieutenant General Baz Mohammad Jawhari, Deputy Defence Minister for Personnel Affairs and Training Major General Afzal Aman, Director General Military Operations Abdul Manan Farahi, Director General Military Intelligence and Investigation Payanda Mohammad Nazim, Inspector General Training Ministry of Defence Aminullah Karim, Commandant National Defence College, US Colonel Dan Pinnel.

      ^Which countries?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Admin Khana, many countries do such contract with Pakistan's Armed Forces for the training of their cadets. I don't know about Army and Airforce currently. But I just confirmed that currently in Pakistan Naval Academy cadets from Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Kazakistan, Yemen, Turkamanistan, Nigeria, Maldives, Palestine etc are getting trained and getting education as well.

But imagine Pakistan give their own cadets the training for free and even pay them! So all the expenses of the Academies almost comes from these countries or a fine percentage of the expenses you can say!

Though for Afghan Cadets the prime objective will be to get trained in Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul (PMA) and Air Force's academy Risalpur.
PMA is known as 'hell' for a newly enrolled Pakistani Cadet. And you can't doubt their standard of training I bet!

Seems like the creme-de-la-creme of all the world´s navy cadets study in Pakistan.
Countries like Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan who don´t even have a normal navy but some patrole boats guarding the Caspian Sea shores.

          And of course Palestine. lol

          Seriously,
Afghanistan´s air force should study in the US and they get it there for free.
And it´s ground forces should study in Turkey. A country that had long standing relations with Afghanistan and actually has one of the best ground forces in the world.

There is no need to study in Pakistan.
          The only constant is change.

I use to support pakistan army before as a kid, but when I heard from my close Bengali friend what they did in Bangaldesh in 71, I totally turned against them, they dont even have the decency to apologize to the Bangali brothers. I would be the biggest hypocrite if I ever support the Pakistan army, or any british made army for that matter. I would only support them temporally, if one day India decided to invade pakistan, but again that would only be temporary for the safety of pakistani people, nothing else.

My dad used to say during a meeting between Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar e Shyed M Doud, Naru question the wisdom of sending Afghan officer and army to be trained in Soviet union and advice to bring soviet teacher to train afghan army and officers inside Afghanistan under watch of afghan government. Sardar E Shyed did not pay match attention and we all saw the result…the day these Afghan officer go to Pakistan for training they will turn into another Gulbodin, Haqani, Massod and rest of criminals. They will no longer be loyal to Afghanistan.

This is a black day and a slap on face of Afghan nation…this proves the treason of NA thugs that will do anything to remain in power..what a shame.

An army that has never won a war...same old mercenary of British raj that had faithfully severed their master with their rewards being theft of Afghan land wants to train ANA? Just as I thought NA thugs and grandson of Haji Mahro jan(de khara zoy) will not fall lower I get proven wrong.

Here is a very brief history of Paki military...if you dig a little more you will find almost all these paki generals and rulers had faithfully severed their master BeRats..including but not limited to Amir E Monafeqeen Zai behaq.

There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

the afghan gov't must really think pakistan is genuinely on board for this peace process for them to agree to this arrangement which in the past they have rejected, or they are just out of their minds.

obviously, if the afghan gov't sends troops there to be trained it will be for political reasons and not the actual training. what do paki security forces have to teach anyone? how to become obese? how to be kidnapped?

but he is still pashtun as are a lot of his crony's. if we are talking about pashtun interests then its safe to say that most prominent pashtun figures of the last few decades have done damage to our interests.

Did everyone miss the hypocrisy of the Afghan Government. They on one hand claim every afghan who oppose them to be pakistani trained and instructed lapdog while at the same time would like to send their own ANA members to be trained by that same institution.
This is similar to the acceptance of the grand mosque being built and controlled by the Saudis. On one hand they sell thier sovereignty and then label those that oppose them to be the sellouts.
