You are right. The NDS and ISI are basically doing the same thing on opposite sides of the borders. They are trying to bring cental governments authority to people that have lived in societies that have been independent from central authority for centuries. The result is violent backlash. These people first view the foreigners as a threat to their way of life and second their local allies as a threat to their way of life. No one is controlling the TTP nor the Afghan Taliban with remote controls, They are the same reaction to two different invaders.

I too don't buy that the NDS is motivating the TTP. I think both the TTP and "Afghan" Taliban are ISI constructs
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
A new hypothesis came into the game.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostI too don't buy that the NDS is motivating the TTP. I think both the TTP and "Afghan" Taliban are ISI constructs
So whos right ?,
ISI agents Afghan taliban,
NDS agents TTP,
Afghan taliban allies with TTP,
Afghan and TTP agents of ISI ?
Not bad, have we more options.High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

In terms of what the print press has written, Admin Khan is right about this (i.e NDS now being a part of this).Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostI too don't buy that the NDS is motivating the TTP. I think both the TTP and "Afghan" Taliban are ISI constructs
I thought you were a fan of Ahmad Rashid.... so he recently wrote:

"So far, this has been a problem. Afghans officials have quietly admitted to me that Fazlullah’s actions are being backed by the Afghan intelligence services. (Officially, Afghanistan denies all such charges.)"
"Afghan support for extremists like Fazlullah is, in a sense, return pay. Pakistan’s army has done exactly the same thing for the past twelve years—allowing Afghan Taliban to launch strikes into Afghanistan against United States and Afghan forces and then retreat back into Pakistan. Now both countries are more evenly balanced in this dangerous, brutal, bloody proxy war—one that is leading to open war, with Pakistan’s army shelling Fazlullah’s camps and Afghan villages in Kunar almost every day, angering the Afghan public who demand that Karzai take action against Pakistan""2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

that guy you mean?Maulana Fazlullah,[3] (born 1974)[4] nicknamed the "Radio Mullah" or "Mullah Radio", is the leader of Tehreek-e-Nafaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM), a banned Pakistani Islamic fundamentalist militant group allied to the Pakistani Taliban, that aims to enforce Sharia in the country. He is sometimes referred to as "chief" of the Swat Taliban[5][6] and is the son-in-law of the TNSM's founder, Sufi Muhammad.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Yeah scimitar salams.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Postthat guy you mean?
Same guy. So rashid is saying that fazlullah is a Pakistani talib leader that, like the Quetta shura, took refuge across the border in safer haunts. The army invaded swat and committed abuses but irrespective of that Fazlullah escaped to swat. So rashid saying that just as reportedly the Kandahar Taliban got shelter from isaf across tge border in quetta, so too has fazl establish a safe haven.
I don't personally like rashid but I'm just pointing out his view which he validates based on discussions with nds"2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

Actually he is from a group allied with the TTP; not the TTP itself.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Agreed with everything you said. I think this writer Weiss of the article "Impatient for Pashtunistan" (posted in this political section) sums it up with this statement :Originally posted by khushal View PostYou are right. "Tellingly, the troubling rise in so-called "green on blue" attacks by Afghan army and police on U.S. and NATO forces -- there have been 53 this year alone -- lays bare the glaring truth of Pashtun sentiment: whether the foreign presence comes from Kabul, Islamabad, or Fort Bragg, they do not want us there."

Yeah but his spokesman is that Ehsanullah guy right? The one that the press declares as " a spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban."Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostActually he is from a group allied with the TTP; not the TTP itself."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

I haven't seen any evidence that Ehsanullah Ehsan is the spokesman of Mullah Fazlullah's group.Originally posted by BarakzaiAbdali View PostYeah but his spokesman is that Ehsanullah guy right? Do not know much about him or his group but I believe he was the one that reportedly put the hit out on Malala right? And Ehsanullah who is repeatedly called the Zabiullah Mujahid equivalent of the TTP spoke about the Malala attack .Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostI haven't seen any evidence that Ehsanullah Ehsan is the spokesman of Mullah Fazlullah's group."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

So this article links the two:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontl...ni-schoolgirl/
And it also unites the Ahmad Rashid commentary. It is confirmed that it was Fazlullah that asked for the hit and Ehsanullah was the commentator:
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...89B0IG20121012
And Fazl is hiding in Kunar where Rashid says he does sneak attacks on Pak paramilitary and then recedes into Afghanistan."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

Or actually it calls him TSNM, but still says he was the one that put the hit on Malala and the media generally reported Ehsanullah as the one who responded on behalf of the "TTP" for the attack. So in either case, he is in the least allied to the TTP."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

Here is the link:
"$1 million bounty had been placed on the spokesperson of the Pakistani Taliban who took credit for the attack on Yousafzai. The spokesperson, Ehsanullah Ehsan, defended the attack last week, saying, “She was pro-West, she was speaking against the Taliban and she was calling President Obama her idol.”
AND
"One of the Taliban's most feared commanders, Maulana Fazlullah, carefully briefed two killers from his special hit squad on their next target..."
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...89B0IG20121012
So I think this shows that TSNM is a branch of the umbrella organization called TTP of which multiple groups are a part of including the Mahsud Taliban."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

you could be right then.
